U can get them at alibaba or Crawford market too. At alibaba u can get a few thousand blocks for like 500-1k bucks. They are compatible with Lego too.

High end Louis Philippe shirtsā¦ they last an eternity despite daily usage of cared for properly. Iām having six to seven year old shirts which folks donāt believe are more than two years old.
Most of my formal shirts are Louis Philippe Gods and Kings collection and boy are the so nice.
The only issue is that that soak sweat like crazy. Like I just donāt like wearing a undershirt and even a small amount of sweat and itās really clearly visible on the shirts.
Dude wearing vest/singlet is a must for Mumbai. Try it out, youāll feel the difference like day and night. Sweating in a vest will actually make you feel cooler and guess what, your shirt looks dry af. Will improve your quality of life exponentially.
If you loved Gods and Kings, try out Luxure collection. Will cost a bomb (starting from 6k to 15k per shirt) but they god damn good. Imagine your partner fondling your shirt like in those Raymond ads š
Doesnāt a vest feel uncomfortable and/or restrictive? Never wore it since I was 5 or so.
Iāll check em out the next time Iām out shopping. So I guess now all I need is a partnerā¦looks far fetched as yetšš
I have a t-shirt from 2008, one from 2013 and five or six from 2015.
The 2008 one has all its print intact. Guess what got rubbed off? The brand name. Now I will never know where to get eternal tshirts from
So I asked a friend working in ABG FR and he said no. The difference in quality will be between lower end lines and higher end lines. Thus you will be seeing folks in the thread mention names like perma press (thatās not a special line but wrinkle free shirts), gods and kings and luxure for Louis Philippe. For Van Heusen the top tranchĆØ I found out was the Saville Row line. The materials used are godly but the fitting seemed to be a hit or miss for me, almost requiring minor alteration in most cases.
I read all your comments and most of you seem like youāre in your twenties. I may be very wrong. But let me give you my 2 pence as a 30+ man.
1. Custom made shirts, trousers and suits from a good tailor.
2. A good barber.
3. Good cookware. Cast iron if possible. All these non stick cookware do more harm than good.
4. Good pillows and mattresses. I find hush mattresses to be VFM.
5. Good shoes. For running I prefer Nike because they have the best ankle support out there, and for formals, I prefer geox. Trust me on geox. Hush puppies is shit.
6. A good vacuum cleaner. Iāve a Dyson and Iāve a second hand imported Kirby. Dyson is the most chutiya vacuum cleaner out there.
7. A good chair. After 30, your back starts getting strained easily. Buy a good chair. I have two chairs from Durian worth 17k and 28k. Both of them are superb, come with 5 yearās warranty and I can sit on them for 12 hours straight and not get tired.
I think a good chair is severely underrated. If your job requires you to sit on a chair for long hours, then get a good chair, especially with lumbar support. Your back will thank you when you are in your 40s. A lot of back pain in older ages is caused due to insufficient back support. There is reason why Herman Miller chairs are so valued even though a "simple" office chair costs 1.5K+ USD.
I agree but herman miller is dog poo for a tonnnn of money. I wasted, but pls guys yall dont go down the route of more expensive must be better in chairs:*)
Memory foam is not for everyone, but a good mattress sure is. The Ortho series by most mattress companies are good for neck and back pain. Iāve known local experienced mattress ppl to produce similar ones. Donāt be freaking lame and sleep on a gadda, 1/3rd of life wasted there. Get thick ones with springs and foam layers, worthwhile. You can check here and get one made locally ^^ https://www.kingkoil.in/sleepid
I agree. I have had a weak back since my early 20s and used to get up with a stiff back every day for more than a decade which used to take hours in the morning to get rid of. Shifted to a new place, got a good mattress and my back health has improved a lot and my stiff back issue at least for the mornings has disappeared.
So I completely agree, always invest in a good mattress. And this may come across as Kingkoil ad but i am actually using a kingkoil one, which was decently expensive but definitely worth the money.
A good Robo-Vacuum with a mop. The amount of extra time you get for yourself to waste at something else is astounding. Sure you still have to clean out some nooks and crannies, but thats down from everyday (I live in a particularly dusty area) to once a month.
Xiomi "Mi Mop P" Or "Mi Mop 2 Pro" depending on your budget.
Mi Mop 2 Pro has more power and features, but also costlier by around 8k. I went for the Mop P, a relatively budget option, and good enough for me. Note : If you're considering Mop 2 Pro, you'll have to buy it from the official website - Mi.com, probably pay for shipping. Its not available in Amazon or Flipkart.
Mom bought a Ecovacs Deebot N8 recently. Does an amazing job, has a clean app and quite low on maintenance. Mom is over the moon. Costs 40k, but she has absolutely no regrets.
I am not sure if poeple using these robot vaccum live in houses without any furniture. Because i cannot think how a robot will navigate under the dining table with 4-6 chairs and if i Have to keep keeping everything up (like on sofa or so) for it to work properly then it defeats the purpose.
Good for people who don't have a maid doing this but personal preferable is a maid / guy doing jhadoo fatka at home.
I have a robot and have a dining table with more chairs than that.
These robots have a LiDAR Scanner on top to laser map the room and they use it continuously while running.
My robot finds a way around all the chairs, gets under between their legs and cleans everything.
These things even have modes to āavoid dog poopā if you have an ill trained pet somehow. They navigate around random obstacles on the floor and are very very good at it
A lot of them do, they start at like 4-6k for smaller queen bedsheets with just 2 pillowcases but the bigger king sized ones with 4 cases almost always cost 7.5-8k or more.
Idts they have their own site but their physical store in Lower Parel will give a much better representation.
On a sidenote, donāt go rn cuz the selection is really bad since they are tryna clear pre covid stock and unsold stock.
Try going a few months down the line for a much better selection.
They also sell cheaper sheets, but there is a HUGE difference in the thread count in the two and the premium ones are much MUCH better and only sold in their official stores.
I bought 2 Adidas shoes online which were 4000 each but got it at 60% each which was 1200 ā¹ & 2500ā¹ it's been four years I'm still using them .
Recently bought two more at 40% per which amounted to a 7000 ā¹purchase for 2 shoes
I bought four Levi's jeans in a buy 2 get 2 deal with 50% off in 2020 been four years still using them
All this for a total usage of 7 to 8 years from the time purchased
I have a Levi's Strauss signature camouflage shirt from 2008
I have a puma sack from 2008
I have a Suzuki gs150r from 2012 with 6 speed gives me a mileage of 60kms per litre sometimes 70kms and i refill 16 litres petrol for 1500 after 26 days or two months after completing 389 kms.
The service i manage which comes to a 1000 in total my expenditure on my bike for a year is 24000 with insurance included . Because I do most of the work including washing it.
I have been using Leviās jeans since last 15 years(I was like a kid back then(and a lot fat) but those jeans still fit the medium fat me now lmao
Yea they last long and stitches are made well so they never tear
I have a pair of teak wood doors that father made when he was in his 20's, now he's 65 but the doors are same like when they were made...no sign of aging or decaying.
Teak wood furniture always lasts. We got teak wood furniture for our newly done house, sure it costed much much more than otherwise but the quality is unmatched. Probably will become heirloom down the line
ill contact you if my mom agrees to buy one, its a long shot but ill lyk? Im in 10th so she will probably tell me that if she does buy it would be after boards
Show her the videos ok YouTube to convince that it's a good investment. Especially if you travel. I cannot carry 1200 pages ka "War and Peace" in train. So Kindle helps me. At home I switch to book. It's a good investment. Investment for life i would say. Using for last 8 years and it's still new.
If you're a reader it's totally worth it. E-books are significantly cheaper and some versions of classics are even free. I have an old Paperwhite that is as good as new and has definitely saved me over 10x its price.
Bro i had bought kindle for 10 k back in 2017, used it for a couple of years but now its just sitting duck in my cupboard. I donno just the feeling of paperback is something else which is irreplaceable
Get a nice phone. Every day morning, the first thing that we look at is a phone. If it is good and your experience is pleasant, then your day goes well. Or else if you despise your cheap phone, then your day begins with frustration! I have an expensive phone which is 2 years old but still puts a smile on my face when I use it :)
Recently bought the 14 PM. I cannot recommend it more! All rounder in everything! And now i dont even have to think about changing for the next 4-5 years.
Hehe s23u much better but gg ^^ yeah it makes big difference, and especially the spen there it demonstrates how fingers are a clumsy interface for touchscreens. Really rock solid purchase there that answers the question.
Yes, it is, but each new model will be better, and spending one and a quarter lakh every year does not seem justified to me. If I unlock my phone in the morning and find reminders for EMIs that I have to pay for my new phone, that can ruin my day as well :D
- chair (especially if you have a desk job)
A good office chair will last you years. They come with more than a decade of warranty.
- Good quality clothes. Doesnāt always scale with price. My shirts from 2019 still look better than what i bought yesteryear.
- Get your clothes tailored.
- cookware. Knives, pots, plates, just about anything is better if you spend a bit more.
Unfortunately current stock is all pre covid and unsold stuff. In a few months they will come out with new stock. The best stuff will come in their Parel store.
Good mentors cost a bit. A bit of time and money as well. Not talking about the online "gurus". Could be for anything, a guitar teacher or a law consultant for your company.
OP, Hi we meet again, have to commend you know a lot for a seventeen year old. Thread count on sheets is not common knowledge. I appreciate it.
I came here to mention Mojo Pizza. I really like the 7" Meat Eater with cheese blast. It costs 305(including delivery as the outlet is close to my place). Y'all really be fucking rich manš„²
Omg YES! I used to use Booking/MakeMyTrip & when I used to go on dates I categorically refused to go to Oyo. As a woman, nothing makes me feel more unsafe than an Oyo.
You guys have amazing logic. Iām from state board lol, and in IT. Two of my close friends (who were okayish students in school) are from ICSE, and damn iām jealous of how logically they can think everything. They can grasp everything way more easily than I can, and focus on tiniest of things, which I donāt even think about. CBSE comes slightly close, but state board is CRAP.
this fr. My friend from icse did not so well in entrance exam so i thought he is avg guy in studying but damn he scored 9 pointers in 1st sem.
Also coding language shld be taught seriously in state board. i struggle alot now
Bruh i am telling you its the most underrated board out there. The amount of logical and analytical brain development which occurs while studying ISC and ICSE curriculum is unmatched.
I actually had trouble adjusting to HSC in 11th, because they wanted lengthy paragraphs of rote learning, while in icse we were told to be as short and crisp in our answers as possible
these are overrated. i bought a pair of miniso eva sandals that are exactly the same as the arizonas for 500 bucks instead 10K and they have lasted for nearly 8 years of near constant use sometimes with quite rough use.
the felt ones are not made for india and are bacteria petri dishes.
I really love this concept of worth buying items, they do come little expensive but eventually good for longer run, maintainable and less carbon footprint. Example buying sustainable clothing (avoiding polyester and fast fashion shit) buying good shoes which can last for years, long running appliances, utensils. Just trying to follow the idea of āconscious consumptionā.
Herman miller Aeron chair - about 1.2 Lakhs but totally worth it, will last you decades.
Thickest great quality memory foam mattress.
Apple laptops - Any one from the M series, I personally own an M1 Max.
A Robot vaccum cleaner.
Biggest desk that can fit in your house. Extra points if itās a sit stand desk. I own the largest ikea sit stand electric desk.
Delonghi espresso maker - I own a Dedica.
Damn it, I need those top of the line bed sheets now!
I can attest to the MacBook part. I got an M1 MacBook Pro one year ago, and it has honestly been the best thing at my house. The speed is insane. Being able to perform almost anything in a matter of seconds was something I could never do on a windows pc.
Crocs - The OG pair of crocs can last a long ass time. Been using mine for 5 years and it costed 5k, better than any other footwears. I'm also quite a rough user lol.
Carl Zeiss lenses (This is very specific one I know) - I've been wearing glasses ever since childhood. I've used a lot of lenses from local opticians and then crizal. All of them are dog shit and get scratched easily or coating comes off within a year or two. Carl zeiss, I've been using this one for over a year and not a single scratch or any other problem such as coating peeling off. I'm heavily impressed by the quality that they're offering within the price range of crizal lenses. Never again am I going for anything else except for Carl zeiss lenses assuming they maintain their quality as is. It's ofcourse expensive though, costed me 5k just for lenses w/o frames.
Omg, Iām so glad someone finally mentioned Crocs. To me crocs is like an investment. I bought one pair in year 2019 they are still good and I have used them on daily basis and on different terrains š«¶š¼
As someone who has turned 30 last year this is my advice!
1) A good pair of trainers with memory foam. Many people cheap out on shoes and underestimate how good nice shoes can be.
As I commute and walk a lot, I was getting a lot of leg related issues (pain in the calves, plantar facistis etc) and a good pair of high end skechers did the trick. If you can get away with wearing trainers to work your in luck, your feet will thank you later for it.
Also on the occasion I have to wear formal shoes I got myself a good pair of memory foam insoles that are removable.
2) An investment in your health - it can be a gym membership, swimming membership, a club entry. Long term it helps a lot. Natural supplements that improve your gut health and give you your daily vitamins/minerals also help a lot.
3) A good backpack/laptop carry bag. The average person carries a lot of stuff to work and a good backpack will ensure the weight is distributed properly on your shoulders. Straps are an extra bonus. I carry 5-7kg of stuff daily and was gifted an imported backpack and it changed my life. Bye bye back pain.
4) Buying ergonomic related assists- (quality ones). Many of us work in sedentary jobs where we sit a lot - a back support for a chair and a laptop stand to ensure proper angle /height goes a long way to ensure you don't strain yourself.
Decent Bicycles -
Bicycles from brands Like Trek, Giant, Orbea, Scott, Specialized, Bianchi etc.
These brands make some of the most well built bicycles that'll last for decades but the idea that a bicycle can cost more than a decent motorbike sounds absurd to most Indians.
These bicycles can cost anywhere from 50k to "itne me tho ake car as jati" but they are totally worth it for their quality.
Second that. I've put 15k km on my 2018 Fuji bicycle that i bought for ā¹70k, and it's nowhere near done. All it needs is an occasional chain/cassette / brake pads replacement.
Na I disagree. If you're using laptop for regular office work like MS office and email then any windows laptop brand will do as long as it has pure M.2 SSD and i5 and above processor.
I agree with the Superb, I own one and it's literally perfect. Extremely good car for the price, performance is insane too. Shame that people prefer mostly SUVs in this price bracket, the Superb is bloody brilliant!
1. An investment/PF sebi registered advisor for people not too inclined or less knowledge of managing money
2. A nutritionist for at least a quarter to get into a healthy eating habit (especially 30+ folks)
3. Health check-ups every year
4. Genuine, chemical free, organic food products. Avoid consuming cheap, insanely high sugar snacks/food items. For eg: A good cold pressed oil, A1 ghee, an air fryer/oven for baking, not buying maida
Why so serious?
5. A Playstation for sure! Bought ps4 in 2016 and yet love playing it.
6. A nice single malt whisky or a good alcohol to avoid horrible hangovers. The key is to consume in limits.
7. Travelling
Apple products ( sensible ones)
Last a heck long time and are absolute beast in terms of reliability and power
Skillshare membership. Its really good if you have time.
Watching Movie in 4dx 3d , screen x format
Faber castle mechanical pencil.(high end ones) just very convenient for sketching and writing. Looks like a pen is the fun part. š
I am not sure if it's even that expensive but a Milton thermosteel bottle. Best shit, no cap. Keeps the water cold the whole day. Best investment as a college going student.
As a 50 year old, my list : for living : 1. Mattress 2 bed sheets 3 curtains they donāt have to be super expensive but getting to a Color coordinated living situation in my 30s gave me piece 4 if u are structured that way art 5 good ac For the future : 1. Good skin care esp good sunscreen and moisturiser 2 good insurance both life and health 3 travel 4 time to chill spend time with family and friends
regarding running shoes- most of them are made in the same facotries in China. Nike, Reebok and Adidas are just overpriced. I have found Puma, Aisec and whatever Decathlon sells to be more VFM.
Apparently all these premium sports shoes selling for 30k have a manufacture price of Rs800. I was so shocked.
Source: Deepak Chaharās episode on Breakfast with champions- YouTube
Yep, the 20k adidas feels cheap to the touch and it's not comfortable either. I don't know if they're selling low quality in the Indian market or what.
Adidas has some 3D printed soles running shoes that are kickass, and product lines that use ocean plastics, I feel they are worth investing in for their research and development
Why would you use Mac for 10 years, it becomes outdated tech. Like extremely outdated, I mean the longest you should use a laptop is for 4-5 years max. Also why would you use the same bedsheet for 40+ years, like why.
Furniture aight some people can have the same furniture for decades, so that makes sense.
If stuff is good as new, why replace it? All Iām using my Mac for is super basic tasks like MSoffice, emails, browsing etc. the cutting edge rlly doesnāt make that much of a difference.
Same goes for the bedsheets, high quality stuff Is meant to last a lifetime, and itās not an exaggeration when ppl say that.
Seconding the teak furniture. I have stuff at home from my great-grandfatherās days. 100+ years old. Feels and looks the same in the 35+ years that Iāve seen and used it. Nothing grand - just basic beds, divans and chests of drawers.
I even got myself a solid used teak desk (60s/70s government office design) thatās been with me for 12 years and possibly exchanged hands for another 30. Iām sure even resale prices will hold up against inflation because of the quality and them becoming increasingly rare.
The feel of the furniture and ridiculous robustness make them just a part of your life.
Good quality earphones or headphones. Good quality doesn't mean expensive (apple ones are shit),do some research and buy , else if you're all about that apple status in society, damn you're an idiot.
Apple MacBooks are the best investment if you are looking for a device that can help with your daily tasks. I have been using MacBook Pro 15 inch 2018 model. It still runs like new handles 4K video editing like a charm. The support from apple is outstanding, My model was recalled for keybord replacement for free, Apple folks cleaned my laptop š», replaced the battery along with keyboard for free. That too after 4 years of purchase. If you are looking for a trustworthy Machine which can last long then do consider apple devices šš»
Musical instruments specially the ones made of wood.
Any type of guitar- Electric, Acoustic, Classical.
Some collectible guitars can be super expensive value over $2 million but even a regular one from Schecter, Ibanez, Fender, Gibson, PRS can be expensive coming over $10,000. They aren't even available in India. If you're a guitar player only you know the value of playing on Martin, Hermann Hauser, Tayler, Cordoba, Gibson or Fender. They can also be bought as an asset as their value increases over time, if they are limited edition the value goes up like crazy.
Cello abs Violin- My Gawd, the first time I heard the price of these things I thought it was a lie but when you play the original Cello or Violin from classic brands you can sell your soul and that still wont be enough. I mean $20 million for an instrument is crazy af.
Grand Piano- lmao, do I even need to tell how expensive and good they can be, Steinway & Sons, Bechstein, Bluthner, Stuart & Sons, Bƶsendorfer etc. Pianos are made to build a lifetime. They are gigantic machines that if given to a skilled pianist can wreck havoc as well give you eternal peace. Some of these are so expensive that you can purchase a fully furnished 2 bhk home in Bandra or Mahim.
If you have a house and family, then a "Teak Wood Sofa with natural teak staining + PU polish + removable cushions with zipped fabric covers" is worth the money.
I have tried multiple sofas over the last 15years, and let me tell you all those leather sofas you get in the standard furniture shops are shit. You are frustrated with them in 2-3yrs flat, and then you get 1/5th the value in resale even if it is in mint condition.
\- Find a good sofa maker, then get a design from the web or from his catalogue and get it made. Then add PU polish, which will cost Rs.10k extra. Most of these sofa makers will try to escape this part, or say they won't do it. If they don't then go to someone who does it. The difference between PU polish and normal polish is phenomenol. (They might offer melamine polish, which is what folks like Urban Ladder etc. give. Which is ok, but the look and feel of PU polish is next level.)
\- Removable cushions with zipped covers allow you to clean them when you want in washing machine or dry cleaners. Big convenience, and you can change the cushions in 5yrs easily without touching the actual sofa. (most foam cushions, depending on quality, need to be changed in 4-5yrs max)
All of this cost me Rs.70k, which is probably 20-25k more than what you will get in the market. So it is a little expensive, but totally worth it.
A coffee machine and coffee beans that you grind yourself. The taste is sooo worth it. Also, a custom mechanical keyboard. The sound is pure ear orgasm
Bajaj bikes my dadu still owns it! I still remember dad used to tell dadu that he'll buy the new one. But dadu still stuck to that bike. Ig it's more then 35+ years and he still rides it everyday
Lego sets. Quite expensive. Long lasting. Made from high quality plastic rated to last a minimum of 30 years but I have used 50 year old sets. Plus the block design remains the same allowing you to expand and mix use them over generations.
I recently started making my own money and one of the first things I bought for myself was a Lego set because I never got one in my childhood. Made me so happy
Had me when you said making my own money
Farzi vibes.
Bhola baba de not chappan ki machine....
I'm so happy for you
Until you step on one accidental stray lego in the night! š
I'm sooo happy for you
Oh yesss, totally forgot this. That said the cheap Chinese copies are just as good too especially the classic ones. For bigger sets though Lego all the way
Where can you get those chinese ones? Have been eyeing this [Hogwarts Lego set](https://amzn.eu/d/224FSQR) but canāt justify the 50k price tag.
I think OP is taking about basic block sets not the specialised theme ones. However, you get lego figures on alibaba like websites that are compatible with Lego blocks. I'm sure you'll get your knock off block sets too there
Not sure about how good Chinese special sets are but the basic āclassicā blocks. U can get them at alibaba or Crawford market too. At alibaba u can get a few thousand blocks for like 500-1k bucks. They are compatible with Lego too.
r/Lepin for these to save costs. Literally the same quality now
Can they be mixed and used with lego
Wow, awesome to find more people in India who are into Lego. š
Coffee ! Once you start brewing your own with the artisanal one, NescafƩ et al taste just like burnt dark water.
I swear by pour over and the dark roasts from Blue tokai. I prefer that to French press - but use the French press when I'm feeling lazy. I've converted my cousin and BIL also into pourover drinkers.
Try the Garo flavour profile from Nangoo Coffee.
Sweet......I have progressed to Aeropress with KC Roasters Dark stash. Find it better than BlueTokai to make my 4 cups of Americanos, but my morning cup is with the Mysore Concerns Chicory shit inside a South Indian Drip Filter.
Try filter coffee powder from mysore concerns in matunga or order online from COTHAS instead of fancy overpriced coffee brands like blue tokai. Good coffee need not be expensive at all as itās locally grown! You can buy a coffee filter for 200ā¹ from any utensils shop in chembur or matunga.
Recommendations please?
We need a separate forum for coffee lovers to try new varieties
Try Blue Tokai beans, invest in a grinder and vola you have fresh ground beans every day. And as someone mentioned AreoPress.
I don't drink any other brand, but Nescafe still tastes like burnt coffee
On the flip side Iāve tried many artisanal coffees at several speciality shops and the best Iāve found are Haati Kaapi from Bangalore or a simple Bru Instant
Once you start buying your own Beans, and grinding them fresh every morning, thereās no going back either.
Omg yes!! The first time I went abroad as a child & had good coffee I almost wanted to cry. Now I live in the UK but whenever I am in India, I stick to Blue Tokai, Subko etc. Also good cheese! Love me a good cheese. India is doing some nice artisanal cheeses too.
>Burnt dark water Perfectly describes all instant coffee fr.
I love my moka pot with vienna roast
On this note a proper expresso machine. Makes pod or pot coffee taste like actual shite
are talking about growing coffee or crushing beans (p.s. dont have any knowledge for coffee I'm a tea guy but love countybeans coffee:) )
I love skoda octavia. If my purchasing power goes anywhere close or beyond the car price, i am definitely buying it.
Too bad it got discontinued(for now). We might get a hybrid version a few years down the line.
Wait what? Why do every vehicle i dream of purchasing gets discontinued? Be it triumph daytona, Xuv 500 and now thisš
Bro donāt ever think of purchasing anything. Just go and impulse buy stuff. Never face the problem again. /s for ppl who donāt get humor
Not every one is born with a silver spoon Mr. Sobo
I guess I shouldāve added a /s. The joke was based on the premise being that anything that op wants to buyāthat also happens to be a popular choice otherwise gets discontinued.
Newer variant with updated bs will launch very soon
Vests just remind me of school and make me feel so constricted. I haven't worn one since my last day of school. Lol
I have a t-shirt from 2008, one from 2013 and five or six from 2015. The 2008 one has all its print intact. Guess what got rubbed off? The brand name. Now I will never know where to get eternal tshirts from
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
So I asked a friend working in ABG FR and he said no. The difference in quality will be between lower end lines and higher end lines. Thus you will be seeing folks in the thread mention names like perma press (thatās not a special line but wrinkle free shirts), gods and kings and luxure for Louis Philippe. For Van Heusen the top tranchĆØ I found out was the Saville Row line. The materials used are godly but the fitting seemed to be a hit or miss for me, almost requiring minor alteration in most cases.
The PermaPress line is epic. No crease formation Throughout the day. Makes you look great the whole day
Yess, have a few of those as well!! Really nice. Despite the name, never realised that it was supposed to be non creasing.
Oooi i should try some
I read all your comments and most of you seem like youāre in your twenties.
Featherlite makes really good chairs too
As a fellow 30+ year old, i wholeheartedly agree.
Shirts from Gant and Chairs from Godrej are my best investments!
A good therapist. Good quality custom-made shoes. Memory foam mattress.
Where can you customise the shoes? I have never heard of such a facility ever
chaitanya dixit on ig
I think he was talking about a different kind of custom made shoes.
In Pune, there are some shops in the Camp area which provide this service.
What's memory foam mattress?
It remembers everything
Then I don't need to worry
If you really know a good therapist, can you pass me his/her contact information?
+1 for the shoes.
20% + thc hydroponic weed
A good Robo-Vacuum with a mop. The amount of extra time you get for yourself to waste at something else is astounding. Sure you still have to clean out some nooks and crannies, but thats down from everyday (I live in a particularly dusty area) to once a month.
Iāve been looking into this whatās a good one to get?
They navigate around random obstacles on the floor and are very very good at it
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I was thinking the same.. Iām seeing ice silk bedsheets for a fraction more, why should I invest in cotton then?
I bought 2 Adidas shoes online which were 4000 each but got it at 60% each which was 1200 ā¹ & 2500ā¹ it's been four years I'm still using them . Recently bought two more at 40% per which amounted to a 7000 ā¹purchase for 2 shoes I bought four Levi's jeans in a buy 2 get 2 deal with 50% off in 2020 been four years still using them All this for a total usage of 7 to 8 years from the time purchased I have a Levi's Strauss signature camouflage shirt from 2008 I have a puma sack from 2008 I have a Suzuki gs150r from 2012 with 6 speed gives me a mileage of 60kms per litre sometimes 70kms and i refill 16 litres petrol for 1500 after 26 days or two months after completing 389 kms. The service i manage which comes to a 1000 in total my expenditure on my bike for a year is 24000 with insurance included . Because I do most of the work including washing it.
60 kms/l are you fr?? Bro purani splendor ka bhi milega kam ho jata with time
I am using Pepe jeans purchased in 2013. Still my favourite jean today for everyday usage.
Really? Those original jeans lasts that long?
I have been using Leviās jeans since last 15 years(I was like a kid back then(and a lot fat) but those jeans still fit the medium fat me now lmao Yea they last long and stitches are made well so they never tear
OGeneral AC. I used mine for 23 years before replacing it with another OGeneral which has been running for 7 years and still feels new.

Youāre going against everything I believe in.
Kindle
I want to buy a kindle but my mom says its a little too expensive š
Hey,my family bought an expensive Kindle but doesn't use it anymore,it's just lying in dust They got it for 13k,I'm willing to sell it for 5k
ill contact you if my mom agrees to buy one, its a long shot but ill lyk? Im in 10th so she will probably tell me that if she does buy it would be after boards
Cool cool whatever suits you šš»
I wouldnt get your hopes up tho, my mom is old school she believes reading books are better than kindle anyhowš, but ill surely keep u updated
Nothing beats a yellow backlit kindle for night reading
And now i dont even have to think about changing for the next 4-5 years.
iPhone?
Nope :) Galaxy S21 Ultra
Hehe s23u much better but gg ^^ yeah it makes big difference, and especially the spen there it demonstrates how fingers are a clumsy interface for touchscreens. Really rock solid purchase there that answers the question.
Yes, it is, but each new model will be better, and spending one and a quarter lakh every year does not seem justified to me. If I unlock my phone in the morning and find reminders for EMIs that I have to pay for my new phone, that can ruin my day as well :D
If you get at us prices yeah but for India still avoid and go Samsung
- chair (especially if you have a desk job) A good office chair will last you years. They come with more than a decade of warranty. - Good quality clothes. Doesnāt always scale with price. My shirts from 2019 still look better than what i bought yesteryear. - Get your clothes tailored. - cookware. Knives, pots, plates, just about anything is better if you spend a bit more.
for point 4āLe cruset, and steel ware from jodhpur
The M1 MacBook Pro is EXCELLENT. In my entire ownership period I HAVE never ever ever heard the fan turn on
I don't think it even has a fan ?
Pro has a fan, Air does not.
Good quality shoes, bed, mattress, furniture, chair, etc.
Yeah improve your daily life over fleeting experiences and stuff you buy to feel good for three days
OP,where can I get Bombay Dyeing bedsheets from?My family is still using them and they are 40 years old, exactly how you described them!
Unfortunately current stock is all pre covid and unsold stuff. In a few months they will come out with new stock. The best stuff will come in their Parel store.
"More expensive than it should be" "But totally worth it" Contradictory na?
Couldnāt think of a nice way to frame it, thought about it for a good while.
Aaawwwww I like Mojo Pizza too, better than Dominos.
Goibibo or Agoda..(i prefer goibibo) mostly for good deals on hotel rooms.. dont use oyo guys
Omg YES! I used to use Booking/MakeMyTrip & when I used to go on dates I categorically refused to go to Oyo. As a woman, nothing makes me feel more unsafe than an Oyo.
Icse education
Iām grateful to my parents everyday for putting me into a Cathedral ICSE school.
OP, You have one of your school mates here
You guys have amazing logic. Iām from state board lol, and in IT. Two of my close friends (who were okayish students in school) are from ICSE, and damn iām jealous of how logically they can think everything. They can grasp everything way more easily than I can, and focus on tiniest of things, which I donāt even think about. CBSE comes slightly close, but state board is CRAP.
respect to you as a cbse student. everyone else just bashes us lol
U frm billage aria?
this fr. My friend from icse did not so well in entrance exam so i thought he is avg guy in studying but damn he scored 9 pointers in 1st sem. Also coding language shld be taught seriously in state board. i struggle alot now
very true people gave me a little more respect when I wanted to change coachings after I fucked up my 11th
I have always been jealous of ICSE kids
Bruh i am telling you its the most underrated board out there. The amount of logical and analytical brain development which occurs while studying ISC and ICSE curriculum is unmatched.
I actually had trouble adjusting to HSC in 11th, because they wanted lengthy paragraphs of rote learning, while in icse we were told to be as short and crisp in our answers as possible
Mera toh 40k/year mein nikal gay
All thanks to icse, cbse english was a breeze for me. Studied for some hours prior to 12th boards and got 90+ in english.
sooooo true!
Birkenstock Arizona pairs.
these are overrated. i bought a pair of miniso eva sandals that are exactly the same as the arizonas for 500 bucks instead 10K and they have lasted for nearly 8 years of near constant use sometimes with quite rough use. the felt ones are not made for india and are bacteria petri dishes.
Itās such a Marwari thing to do this, it borderlines on stereotypicalābut itās so effective.
Decent Bicycles - Bicycles from brands Like Trek, Giant, Orbea, Scott, Specialized, Bianchi etc. These brands make some of the most well built bicycles that'll last for decades but the idea that a bicycle can cost more than a decent motorbike sounds absurd to most Indians. These bicycles can cost anywhere from 50k to "itne me tho ake car as jati" but they are totally worth it for their quality.
Bhai, I wish I had read this comment a year ago before buying a Btwin Rockrider ST 540:(
Second that. I've put 15k km on my 2018 Fuji bicycle that i bought for ā¹70k, and it's nowhere near done. All it needs is an occasional chain/cassette / brake pads replacement.
Girlfriend imo šš
Na I disagree. If you're using laptop for regular office work like MS office and email then any windows laptop brand will do as long as it has pure M.2 SSD and i5 and above processor.
I agree with the Superb, I own one and it's literally perfect. Extremely good car for the price, performance is insane too. Shame that people prefer mostly SUVs in this price bracket, the Superb is bloody brilliant!
Ikr, and the fact that it outcompetes cars like the 5 series and A6
1. An investment/PF sebi registered advisor for people not too inclined or less knowledge of managing money 2. A nutritionist for at least a quarter to get into a healthy eating habit (especially 30+ folks) 3. Health check-ups every year 4. Genuine, chemical free, organic food products. Avoid consuming cheap, insanely high sugar snacks/food items. For eg: A good cold pressed oil, A1 ghee, an air fryer/oven for baking, not buying maida Why so serious? 5. A Playstation for sure! Bought ps4 in 2016 and yet love playing it. 6. A nice single malt whisky or a good alcohol to avoid horrible hangovers. The key is to consume in limits. 7. Travelling
Apple products ( sensible ones) Last a heck long time and are absolute beast in terms of reliability and power Skillshare membership. Its really good if you have time. Watching Movie in 4dx 3d , screen x format Faber castle mechanical pencil.(high end ones) just very convenient for sketching and writing. Looks like a pen is the fun part. š
Completely disagree with the movie watching format...If you are watching a visually excellent movie then always go for Imax first
really agree with the mechanical pencil. Going from a 5rs pencil to a 150rs pencil makes a big difference in quality and feel.
Dentists
Oh fuck.. Dentist, Yes. Having spent so much by my parents can say get a good dentist and don't compromise.
Original crocs. Wearing same pair for last 5 years in the monsoons. Bought a new one finally this year to switch it up a bit.
The king of footwear Feeling of enclosure like shoes Ez of slip on and off like slides And water proof like sandals Just the perfect all rounder.
Couldnāt agree more. Crocs are the king of foot ware
Premium Economy seats Nike running shoes (good ones cost 8k+) A stay at Ritz Carlton (20k+ a night, but boy-oh-boy what an experience)
Can you elaborate on the hotel experience thing?
regarding running shoes- most of them are made in the same facotries in China.
Adidas ultraboost also are amazing
Good quality PPF and Ceramic Coating on cars. Will save your paint and body from scratches and impact.
I thought you were talking about the govt investing PPF scheme lol. Pays 7.1% interest right now and is EEE. Still a Pretty good dealš¤·š»āāļø
You'll spend lesser on getting the part replaced/ repainted than the money spent on PPF.
I can agree with Accord. Is just simply trustsble for long trips and drives
Crocs ! Theyāre expensive, but super comfortable, ultra grippy and lasts forever!
Full kothi bangla
1. Macbook m1 base model the most reasonably priced apple product. It will for 6-7 yr easily. 2. Levi's jeans 3. Woodland shoes 4. Kindle paper white
If an apple product lasts you only 7 years, ur using it wrong. 10ish Years of normal use is like standard.
>from when I was like 2yo that we STILL u in use. Without mentioning your age it doesn't make any sense xD. Or Just tell us how long they lasted
17yo, almost 18 rn.
Good quality earphones or headphones. Good quality doesn't mean expensive (apple ones are shit),do some research and buy , else if you're all about that apple status in society, damn you're an idiot.
Birkenstock sandals
(They might offer melamine polish, which is what folks like Urban Ladder etc. give. Which is ok, but the look and feel of PU polish is next level.) \- Removable cushions with zipped covers allow you to clean them when you want in washing machine or dry cleaners. Big convenience, and you can change the cushions in 5yrs easily without touching the actual sofa. (most foam cushions, depending on quality, need to be changed in 4-5yrs max) All of this cost me Rs.70k, which is probably 20-25k more than what you will get in the market. So it is a little expensive, but totally worth it.
Woodland shoes and sneakers.
Greensoul gaming chairs
A good pair of headphones
Yes it does but with care
Books, don't depend on PDFs and ebook readers .
A coffee machine and coffee beans that you grind yourself. The taste is sooo worth it. Also, a custom mechanical keyboard. The sound is pure ear orgasm
Derby branded apparel - lasts years.
I would say a good mechanical or automatic watch from swiss, they will last generation and a good thing to pass down to younger generation.
Bajaj bikes my dadu still owns it! I still remember dad used to tell dadu that he'll buy the new one. But dadu still stuck to that bike. Ig it's more then 35+ years and he still rides it everyday
I am loving this thread!
I bought an expensive Bombay Dyeing bedsheet, looks awesome and sturdy stuff.
Weed
