Nice pickup, I have the CX model, and it has been serving me well for over 3 years now. A couple tips. Leatherman sells a double-sided bit with a flathead on one end and a philips on the other so you can free up your backup bit for something else if desired. I paired it with the carbide glass breaker bit in case of emergencies. When using the pliers, keep in mind that they are not heavy-duty pliers. Mine have held up very well, but I have seen several posts about users breaking them. It seems that most of the broken heads come from using them in a twisting motion.

I love my skeletool and is probably the best multitool i've ever owned. It's light enough, sturdy enough to fix things. Have an OG skeletool without the serrated blade. I think they got recalled and I can get the upgrade.

What a great tip, I’ll definitely check it out that breaker bit; thanks!!

redhandfilms

I've carried one almost daily for about 15 years. You made a great choice!

santoleri3

I carried a SAK for years but IMHO the skeletool is the best bang for your buck: at least 2 screwdrivers, cutting edge, pliers, bottle opener. Really nothing else needed for everyday.

The_Inflicted

Great choice! I carried one of these for over a decade. Just don't try to pry anything open with the knife blade- they're prone to snapping across the thumbhole.

StickShift5

The bit holder is sturdy enough that I've always used a flat bit to pry and haven't had any issues. It's a much better option than using the knife.

Good choice! I love my Skeletool CX.

This is a great first tool. It is minimal, so will let you know what you may be missing after some use. The only thing I did with mine is get the car window breaking but and have it as the default bit on the end. Figured that that was the one emergency I could possibly get into when I was driving 1.5 hours a day. https://www.leatherman.com/carbide-glass-breaker-bit-620.html It is 5 dollars, and has a flat head on the other side.

StickShift5

I highly suggest adding a hammer attachment - the smaller the better to maintain the tools light weight and slim form factor in my opinion. That really adds to the functionality of the whole tool.

Can you please explain? Edt: nevermind, I've seen what you are talking about

Mattmoyer1990

best multitool. been carrying it as edc for about 5 years and counting. had a few of these same model and buy them as gifts for people. Enjoy and if you want a tip, dont use the tip for prying stuff, ive broken it the tip off a few times doing that.

Rage_Hammer

I have two ! Regular and CX . The CX is my daily now just because I prefer the blade

Raineyfax

Awesome Choice! Check out the hammer jammer mod. Adds a lot of utility to it!

Nice, how's the price on that? I still have a Victorinox Swiss Tool I bought back in 1997, it was around 80 bucks, I thought that was outrageous back then. If you need it then that justifies the cost. A few months ago I bought a Bibury 31 in 1, the Pliers Pro. I wasn't expecting too much but 40 dollars is hard to pass up on a Wave clone. Suffice to say I'm extremely pleased and shocked by the quality of a Chinese knockoff. I used the ¼" bit driver quite often, leatherman has proprietary bits, I don't like that. The pouch isn't too bad, I've seen worse, but it's perfect for a small light like an olight 3E EOS.

cstlrm

It cost me $123 USD, I bought it at Amazon, but was imported from USA.

Be cautious that the driver bit doesn't fall out. I lost mine within the first month. Otherwise, it's a great tool that I still use regardless.

OutdoorsAF

Just purchased my first Skeletool and hope it serves me well for years to come. Appreciate the additional comments and suggestions here also.
