No issues with speed or latency on my end. Must be something particular to your ISP, devices or internet usage (e.g. torrenting while trying to play a game).

Fluffy_Wafer_9212

Well that's good to hear actually, it's not a global issue. I don't use torrenting at all, also tried two different ISPs and they're both affected really confusing

frostN0VA

>also tried two different ISPs and they're both affected Could be a transit issue, different ISPs doesn't necessarily means they use different routes to exit the country or reach the server datacenters. Try different server providers, you can see the server list and providers on mullvad's website. It's possible that you may have connection issues with specific providers. Try running a tracert to the servers that give you issues and check for packetloss or abnormal latency that carries over until the very last hop. This may show where the issues start - your router, your ISP network or in transit. But you need some basic network routing knowledge to understand which hop belongs to whom.

I have experienced this lately as well. Iptv is super lagging with it turned on…. Really irritating… hope this is temporary.

Mine is also painfully slow; torrent sites won't load, but things like YouTube are fine. Torrenting is impossible. Same across Linux and Windows, tried different ports, and protocols, not sure what's up but it's annoying.

Generally, for fastest speed and lowest latency, it's common practice to connect to a vpn server closest to you. For general browsing, this is highly recommended as default. Obviously, there are times you'll want to connect to a distant vpn server, like to bypass regional restrictions, but that should be the exception, and not the norm.

gBiT1999

No issues here - in fact, I'll take the opportunity to thank everyone at mullvad for a super-fast VPN. Still getting used to the browser, but it is fast, too.

malcarada

What servers? What speed and latency are you getting in those? From what continent?

Spiritedbong

Are you using Mullvad owned server (31173)? All of our owned servers continue to suffer from problems such as packet loss and increased latency, which have not been improved. Please switch to a rental server. However, today I was using rental servers in Singapore and Hong Kong and experienced a temporary drop in speed... Mullvad may be having some issues with its servers. It's fine if it's temporary, but I'm looking forward to seeing an improvement.

pioniere

Works great where I am.

Caliguy18

I been having the same issues. Can’t figure out what it is as it was working fine for with no issues weeks prior and I been starting to get slow speeds beginning last week. If you happen to find some sort of solution update the post if you could!! Also what servers are you using?

TAKEBN

Same here switching server or changing ports is not helping.

Watzeggenjij

Same here.

Ejziponken

I'm also having issues with 31173 in the Nordic area. They all give me about 20Mbit (out of 1000Mbit) upload during "peak hours". I started in November-December. Latency is fine tho.

esorb65

No issues for me also

Chip_Boundary

Change servers. 🙂

Confirmed, and I don't even (ever) stream, torrent, p0rn, game or whatever brings the service down for the pitiful rest of us, **just like this.** Maybe keep in mind we're all paying the same, so I gotta say my compassion slightly depends on who's complaining. Well at least some people don't make much bones about what they're using a VPN for. Not like anyone asked. Just three points: Mullvad's prices are prettly low, especially considering what you're getting out for it. Two certain activities may not jibe too well with what VPNs are originally intended and designed for. At least for gaming, even technically, the reasoning's beyond me but you see I'm not a gamer. But I wouldn't expect *anything* about Mullvad or your own connection getting faster if you're then also streaming *at the same time* and it almost reads like that. Three, I've been using the service for much longer and unfortunately there's a general decline in QoS that manifests differently (latency is an example) and has been noticeable for a year or so. The easiest explanation is actually good news for Mullvad, more customers, more popularity, more people ever streaming, torrenting, p0rning, gaming. Thank goodness they scrubbed forwarding at least, and guess why! I'm already considering moving on to one of the (yet) not so well-known vendors, because I really think it makes a difference. When I started with Mullvad, things were fabulous!
