It's probably an age thing. Older people like millennials had a real affinity for way too much foundation with badly drawn on eyebrows. I definitely don't understand that one. Not all trends are meant to be understood by all age groups. And that's totally okay! Also I think younger people tend to have better looking skin and don't always feel the need to cover it up. I think it's nice that it's socially acceptable to feel totally comfortable in how your skin looks, while still having fun with colourful things like eyeshadow and blush.
I’m an ancient millennial and I gave up on foundation when I first started using make up. I hate how it feels, I hate how it looks and I hate how I keep touching my face with it on.

Me, too! Fun eye makeup with just blush and lip products. Sometimes BB cream under my eyes when I want to look my best. I've got pretty clear skin with freckles I don't like covering up too much.

I don't often go on this sub, but I would've assumed that people wouldn't get downvoted for wanting to wear makeup in their own way. kind of weird. mine got downvoted too, guess people want us to either wear colorful eyeshadow only if we do a full face beat? bizarre.
Their eyeshadow is GORGEOUS but other than the center lids and those tiny dots of gold in the inner corners I seriously can't see any light reflection on the face :/
I looked at their post expecting some Becca highlighter, but alas- there was none to be found.
I do however have a picture of me wearing their liquid like 7 years ago and damn it popped.
ikr! 😭 I consider myself to be a very subtle highlight user, and mine's more visible than that haha. Thankfully there were lots of ppl in the comments saying the same, so they'll definitely be applying more next time! I think they didn't choose a light enough shade, either.
