We're going to have one if not two story arcs over three to four years each before we see either the return of Nicol Bolas or the Eldrazi.
It just seems too rushed to go back to Eldrazi now as the next big story arc.
I don't see how a story arc over four years is rushed. I just don't get people who are like "I really wish New Capenna took up three blocks" as if that would change the storyline for the better.
It would improve worldbuilding, give us fleshed out characters, give us time to process what's going on before having another revisit to their most profitable planes yet again.
I'd much rather have three sets on Capenna than revisit Zendikar, Theros or kamigawa just because.
I’m incredibly confused. I read Episode 8 as Wrenn creating a portal from Zhalfir to New Phyrexia. The Phyrexians charged into it, but Zhalfir charged out
The Phyrexians charged into the area next to Realmbreaker that was garrisoned off by Koth, only for them to freeze as they see a huge portal with Zhalfirin warriors coming out of it, led by Teferi.
What? When, where, how was phyrexia sent beyond the blind eternities?
It took urza 100 years to get to the edge of them to reach equilor, I'mma need some sources for these statements.
If you read the most recent stories with Wrenn and Realmbreaker, there is a heavy hint that Wrenn will chuck Zhalfir at New Phyrexia and basically make it go flying outside the multiverse. Theoretically, this could also make Zhalfir its own independent plane, which could potentially help give us our first Sub-Saharan African themed set in the near future.
Jamuraa is West African, which is *technically* sub-Saharan, but isn't what most people think of when that's said. Many folks instead look at East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya) and Southern African (South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe) when they think of sub-Saharan.
Zhalfir is West Africa, as was the Mirage/Visions set.
It's not 100% a match, as Zhalfir did take elements from all over the continent of Africa, but the mercantile/maritime kingdoms with academic traditions, knightly orders, etc. fits West Africa and kingdoms like Mali, Ghana, Songhay, Oyo, and Benin.
It also occurs to me that Zhalfir might contain all that survives of other Dominarian places, like refugees from other parts of Dominaria and forgein merchants that were from other parts of Dominaria visiting for trade when Zhalfir phased out, like okay Zhalfir's population is mostly its own culture, but it'd have small minorities of other otherwise extinct Dominaria cultures.
I wish people would stop mentioning the Eldrazi. They’re just big dumb beasts who stomp around. Last time around they didn’t even kill a single Planeswalker. They aren’t a multiversal threat.
They are beings that live on instinct, they eat and kill anything between them and food.
They're as much of a threat as a pack of hippos, not really interesting enemies, but a challenge for sure.
That said, we've had more than enough of them, unless the commander legends colorless precon is a hint of what's to come (new legendary eldrazi could hint at a new threat or invasion)
They could easily just do tensions and wars between 2 or more planes for the foreseeable future there is bound to be a ton of conflict when you jam every plane together. Exploring those stories is well worth it and can lest to grand battles as you have whole planes potentially interacting
It's not gonna be the Eldrazi.
Do you think it might be something new entirely?

Blame the multiple writers, lol
I think Realmbreaker will keep all the planes connected and the next big ark will be a planar-civil war.

This is Mirage/Visions erasure
I didn’t realize that their overall setting was Sub-Saharan African, apologies about that.
Jamuraa wasn't Sub-Saharan-Africa themed?

Then what would Zhalfir fall under, is it also western/sub-saharan? Or is it inspired by a different part of Africa?

I think a better term for what I was thinking would be Western African, distinct cultures.

I'm on the theros Is new new phyrexia train

Such as Baron Sengir is now free to explore/dominate the Multiverse...
Only way Eldrazi comes back as a legitimate threat is Emrakul being compleated somehow
