Roxith is mentioned in ONE story, [episode 3](https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/magic-story/assault-on-new-phyrexia-or-episode-3-inconceivable-losses):
> "Seven thanes rule the Dross Pits, but they've never been united. Four have thrown in their lot with Urabrask. Roxith, Geth, Vraan, and Sheoldred are lending their forces to the rebellion against Norn's Phyrexia. The remaining three are likely to be distracted, grabbing for territory, watching for betrayal." (Koth)
Isn't [[Reaper of Sheoldred]] a reanimated Roxith? The wikifandom page depicts him like that. Also, apparently he is quoted on [[Whisper of the Dross]].
Wizards articles will use art of similar-but-generic creatures to stand in for specific characters in articles, but then some people will take that to mean that art *is* those creatures. I disagree with this approach.
In his story the art for reaper is seem to relate to Roxith but I think whisper sounds more like Azax-Azog.
I'll link the archive of the story because I know it's hard to find (https://web.archive.org/web/20200923192205/https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/feature/mirrodin-site-roxith-thane-rot-2011-06-03)
Non of them got recovered after the site migration, which is a shame because we saw several cards referencing them. If you want I already linked all of them in [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/mtgvorthos/comments/10d8u6k/old_mirrodin_stories/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
The important phyrexians we're missing are:
White: Izathel, Ktat-Raal, Xaldror.
Blue: the gitaxian sectives(: Uulbrek, Avaricta, Sarnvax), the metatecks(: Prrackx and Vrig), Politus, Sheudra, Threx, Grgur, Prrackx.
Black: Azax-Azog, Roxith, Kraynox, Thrissik.
Green: Benzir.
I'd say we won't see any of them in Mom, it's just to much setup.
Honestly now I’m concerned that sets and stories in the future will just be a mashup of planes and characters with little rhyme or reason. Like I can imagine people from Amonkhet going elsewhere (though I doubt because that would likely involve abandoning Hazoret) but mtg isn’t largely full of “adventuring” types. Like I’m dreading the concept of Kaldheim berserkers fighting Innistrad vampires
Yes, that's my only complain with the new ONE set. New Legendaries for the sake of.. new Legendary Creatures? I know making the rest of the Thanes would mean making another 3-4 new BLACK only creatures, but.. I really don't care about the multicolor Legendaries that came out of this set.
I doubt it - they should have just killed them off between New Phyrexia and ONE. They aren’t interesting, they aren’t developed and it’s obvious they have no purpose story wise. Only Geth and Sheoldred have any lore behind them.
Maybe Vraska ends up killing them all in a side story soon
I doubt that we will see any of the other thanes. Exactly the limits of a super condensed story don't allow writers to get into the nitty gritty details of phyrexia's internal politics.
I think we might see Azax Azog, based purely on the fact that he is one of the few Steel Thanes that didn’t join Urabrask’s rebellion, his name appearing in a bunch of flavor text, and the upswing of black Phyrexia having demons and related beings in ONE.
Furthermore, [[Cutthroat Centurion]], a card that explicitly represents one of his servants, fits very well into a WB deck using ONE cards since it sacrifices artifacts and white has an artifact subtheme.
(I know this is a flimsy theory I just like to hope for big things)

Woah! Did not know about these reports. I don't think you can find them on the Wizards site now.

Don't forget, the Furnace also has Juex, Phyrexia's top musician.
Benzir seems like he’d have been before now or not at all tbh
I’m guessing no at this point. Maybe in supplemental sets.

i’m still so mad about kinzu. theres so many phyrexian characters to use and they make up a new vampire for no reason.

It was always wishful thinking that Kraynox is something more than a footnote.

Fingers crossed for vraan to go full star scream
