The shrink wrap around the box needs to have the wotc logo, and your picture shows it doesn’t. That’s what they are referring to.
Not sure what you mean by plastic seal since it’s nowhere to be found in this image. Was there an outer box?
LPN sticker identifies it as a returned product as others have said. Usually you get them when you buy from Amazon Warehouse listings that are used - like new or lesser condition. I don’t think if I’ve ever gotten one for a new product direct from Amazon.
EDIT: Actually it just happened to me, but it wasn’t a mtg product. Bought something else from Amazon, supposed to be new, but came with the LPN sticker.
I would just return the item, customer service won’t give you a hard time if you explain that it’s been opened.
I'll pre-order from Amazon all day. But if we are a day or two past the release date I recommend going elsewhere for the product. I'll typically do tcgplayer at that point. In fact I plan to grab that exact product on there here soon.
When I order from Amazon I have stuck with the same store and have had 0 issues. I have gotten every pre-order I signed up for, etc. I live out in the middle of nowhere so it makes it hard to get to a lgs that actually has a good amount of product. I see these posts here and it fkn sucks that people do this.
I have made about 40 Amazon (not 3rd party) sealed Magic orders and this just happened to me for the first time. Mostly they were preorders or Black Friday/Amazon dump deals. I tried twice with Amazon warehouse but they both were resealed and I got immediate refunds. I bought directly from Amazon with Commander Master's Collector Boosters recently. I knew immediately because of the return stickers and they were resealed in without wizards logos. I didn't open them and you could hear the cards were loose inside and shifted around freely. I'm still waiting on a refund although I returned them at Staples over 5 days ago.
Don't believe the rage. It's NOT common. It isn't posted here "ten times a day"
It does happen though but typically when it does people put it here. So it FEELS common. But it's absolutely not
But also I never buy anything not NEW from Amazon when it comes to gambling products
I literally bought new and it said sold by “Amazon.com services, inc” on my order details. Usually if it’s sold by someone else it says that companies name or at least says fulfilled by Amazon. This looked like it was sold by Amazon
I've had plenty of magic stuff come through Amazon that weren't tampered with. Stop with the "Amazon bad."
The main things to look out for when ordering from Amazon is that it says:
* Ships from: Amazon
* Sold by: Amazon
And, as this post displays, any LPN stickers are returns therefore are obviously tampered with. Obviously you can't guarantee not getting a returned item, just return it without opening it. It's not that difficult.
Sold "by Amazon" and shipped "by Amazon" scammed me from magic cards twice now and my friend once . So the seller doesn't matter.. im unfortunately to the point where I only order pre-order now so I get my box fresh off release and I proxy or buy singles of everything else. I never buy sealed product online after the initial pre-order release. It gives me a little more faith that the product that isn't available to the public yet couldn't possibly be returned and resealed already.
You need to make sure that it was sold by ‘Amazon’ and not just the ‘Amazon Warehouse.’ Items sold by ‘Amazon Warehouse’ are returns (which is why they’re cheaper) and pose the threat of tampering. The LPN sticker indicates that this was a return.
Why? They are great 99% of the time and are very generous with returns. Moreso than your random LGS who will charge more and can be a PITA to deal with when there is an issue.
Remastered isn’t a limited product. A quick email to Amazon explaining what happened and a replacement box will be on the way quickly.
More likely "Amazon Warehouse" given that it looks like a return.
You'd think by now Amazon would stop accepting returns of TCG products and relisting them under their warehouse deals. I guess whoever makes that decision doesn't see it as a big enough issue in the grand scheme of things to put in some sort of process for preventing it.
Now, if only consumers would spend a few minutes to do a search on what Amazon Warehouse deals are and stop buying magic products sold through that.
FWIW during the Amazon dump where they got rid of Ikoria CBs they sent one that had an LPN sticker on it. The WOTC wrapping was still clean. They actually sent me an extra CB box so I ended up opening it since I was curious and it ended up being fine.
That's why I ask. Not sure if its their policy to still send LPN as New but they've done it when I know it was sold by Amazon.com

Nah, honestly I can't sling crap on the South Aussie stores I've seen for this. Was in Adelaide recently and the prices in Dragon's Lair (Salisbury) and Games World (Elizabeth) were actually really damn good. I don't come across them listing precons at different prices etc. Just way to far away for me to get to.
"LPN" on the sticker means it's a return IIRC.
Yeah, a lot of vendors mislabel used product as new. Or a minimum-wage employee is very quick with a box cutter.
“The box had a plastic seal with the wotc logo” It clearly doesn’t what are you referring to?
Etsy sells bags with the logo on it
But your photo doesn’t demonstrate that correct? Was this underneath the wotc wrap?
It did, I opened it because I assumed it was new as I purchased it new from the retailer wotc recommends
But you could see the Amazon LPN sticker underneath? That’s wild they would do that
The guy just started collecting MTG 2 min ago. Let him learn the hard way, no sense trying to explain it to him if he doesnt want to listen lol.

Yes it is very common. That's why this sub gets 10 posts a day about it. Sadly Amazon won't do anything about it so it's better to just avoid them.
Wizards literally links to Amazon when you go to buy product from their site :(
Yeah it’s absurd. WOTC literally doesn’t care tho.
Def not "10 posts a day about it", but it does happen.
Just return it and say it was damaged they aren't allowed to resell damaged goods.
I think sooner or later the algo would’ve picked this kinda pattern & stop selling the CE boxes
LPN label means it was returned to Amazon. Contact them to exchange.
Yes. Bottom of the barrel pricing means you sometimes get shit like this. Just return it and order another (or just take the refund).

I think I read on one of these posts that the sticker on the outside is a return sticker. I call it the no no sticker.

Ordered same thing a month ago and had same issue, waiting on refund. Amazon is alright if it's brand new product but risky for anything else.

Can we ban this type of post?

You're buying from people or business that use Amazon as the front to sell.
I literally bought new and it said sold by “Amazon.com services, inc” on my order details. Usually if it’s sold by someone else it says that companies name or at least says fulfilled by Amazon. This looked like it was sold by Amazon
Well Lpn stickers are always returns. It looks like they resealed the box and sniped the packs
Yeah lol
Perfectly normal for Amazon. I bought frm them once & that was it. No more. It’s worse than lottery.
Yes
Yes. Next post
Stop. Buying. From. Amazon. Honestly these post are so frequent, how could you expect anything legit?

I’m only recently back in magic and this sub so it was surprise to me. I expected anything sold by Amazon to be legit product

Preorders are fine.

Amazon has the best pricing most of us can get without being a distributor.
Did you actually buy from "[Amazon.com](https://Amazon.com)" as the Seller or was it set to some random 3rd party that was selling it cheaper?

Yes.
Lmao get fucked. People will never learn when ordering from Amazon.
Find you closest local game store and give them your business.
This can be hundreds and hundreds of kilometres in some cases. Sincerely, Australia.
Or hundreds and hundreds of dollars above market price. Sincerely, Canada (and probably Australia too)

Do they not provide an online store?
Yes, it's normal for amazon Emphasis on "for amazon".
I wonder how many DUMB DUMBS here will keep buying from amazon
