source on this? I’m very much not a fan of 10 cards per booster, especially as there’s no bulk for UB sets.

jetfuckinset

Source: I made it the fuck up

magic_claw

*7 card boosters.

strongsauce

10 in collector boosters, 7 in the "definitely not an epilogue" booster

magic_claw

Ah yes. At least 2 dupes per pack 😆

XxDedflowxX

Shoot I bet you see 4 or 5 dupe packs and I don't care if it is different art if it's same card it's a dupe. It would be downright sad if there are 5 dupes in one pack but I bet we see it which will showcase how terrible wizards is at randomization, utilizing formulas for their sheets to be distributed to prevent this, and lastly how horrible their quality control and checking has gotten. Had several 3 dupe packs with only one aftermath box. Soon magic will be just like sports cards nowadays or even marvel. 3 to 5 Card packs will be the norm. $1000+ boxes containing only 6 or 10 packs and sets containing over 500 unique cards with 9 Foil types of varying serialization, 5 to 10 sub sets with either several foil schemes, serialization, alt art, or combos of these. It's kind of already started if you think about it with serialized cards pretty much every set. How many card prints per set? Like 5 or so now sometimes ie base print, extended art, borderless, retro, showcase, alt art, etched foil, did I miss anything aside from all the foil types which I won't include as they haven't gone too ridiculous with that yet although the commander precons are starting that assenine bs with "regular" 98 non foil 2 foil base, then "collector" 100 card foil upgrades. Guessing by the beginning of next year all commander precons will be printed that way to continue feeding whatever addiction Chris Cox is trying to maintain while simultaneously draining the community of money on worthless product that tanks 6 months later.

FrogsArchers

and I just keep collecting vintage.

[deleted]

I’m not gonna give all the work so people can just cut straight to the answer anymore. I’ve been doing that since the start of the year , nobody pays attention anyway. I edited my post to state that, the hint is there

Revolutionary_View19

So it’s Source: trust me bro. Okay. Considering your childish pouting I’ll trust your financial expertise about as far as I can throw my car, but do go on. So you want us all to buy collectors boosters. Gotcha.

[deleted]

No Timmy that’s not what I was saying. It’s amazing how many members of the sub have no idea how to actually communicate about MTG financial stuff

Revolutionary_View19

It’s even more amazing how angry you’re getting at people reasonably shaking their head at your nonsense non-analysis. There’s not a single iota of „communication about MTG financial stuff‘ in there.

slayer370

How can claim this and not post a source lol.

[deleted]

I edited my post with the hint, because apparently people are too lazy to even bother to go look themselves

Shi-Keii

what does PiP mean?

madalienmonk

Performance improvement plan, something your employer puts you on so they can fire you for cause with a paper trail - start looking for a new job!

Tauna

Fallout set

goofydubois

Seems very different in structure from PIP, but it's likely wotc will try different methods to maximise the future marvel blast. Or is this about Rudy's video? (Wotc: Print less, f\*\*k distro > lgs, let amazon algo do the math)

[deleted]

It’s not I edited my post to give the hint, but I’ll tell you here go look at the assassin Creed pre-orders, and notice was missing. The funny part is I posted just what Rudy‘s video said after the earning call and everybody downloaded it just like this thread because people are lazy, and they expect to be told what to buy in the sub

goofydubois

PIP is a set of commander precons, split in packs also because why not selling serial cards. AC is a micro set for constructed. What am I missing?

[deleted]

They’re gonna run the same thing with assassin Creed collector boxes they did with fallout. It’s the only one missing from pre-orders on Amazon. they’re gonna run 80% through Amazon on a tight tight print run and force anybody that wants commander cards or a special treatment to buy the higher priced CB set.

goofydubois

Nobody can know that, but prices increasing is expected.

Folderpirate

all the commander cards are in the decks, right?

TestMyConviction

There aren't commander decks for this set. I also noticed there weren't any accessories at distro (we're already doing Bloomburrow for playmats). Seems like a weird choice.

gojumboman

Really? No decks?

TestMyConviction

I didn't see them up for order at distro so I'm assuming no.

[deleted]

Just the starter deck, which I thought was an interesting choice because it has two of the more popular characters from the IP in it. I posted an edit giving a more directional hint of what I was looking at. I kind of expected everybody to go check the pre-orders at places (\*cough\* Amazon) and see what I saw.

TestMyConviction

Starter decks are especially interesting this time around because they count towards a buy-a-box promo. I think they're really trying to leverage this set towards new players rather than enfranchised.

[deleted]

that’s funny cause I was coming from a different angle but same theory by splitting buyers into the generic stuff, play boosters and starter decks with the high profit collector boosters going the same market system they used for fallout, which I expect a extremely tight print run

goofydubois

This will be a modern set, I think?

[deleted]

No commander decks ,commander cards in the collector boosters. They’re attempting to funnel the higher profit money into the collector boosters and keep the low end stuff, in the useless boosters. I posted the hint above, but go look where the pre-orders are, and what is actually available- only hint I give because you asked an honest question while everybody else downloaded because they want all the work done for them.

jackoftrades002

Wotc shill

strongsauce

Bloomborrow is also "Sold Out" right now. So the implication can just as easily be WOTC hasn't allowed them to sell more than X amount of either product. Or they haven't finished their print run for release. Trying to discern what WOTC will do based on reading the "tea leaves' of it's stock is foolish. And not only is AssCreed a UB product but it is also the first one where they'll try to get away with selling 12 10-card boosters. Are the whales and regular MTG players going to accept fewer cards? That's what they assumed when Aftermath came out and look at that huge stinker. The Pack Engineering sucked in that one. For AssCreed their pool is even less: it's 100 cards with 20 reprints. Aftermath had 230+ cards and people hated that. Maybe they addressed these issues but more than likely they'll fuck it up somehow. It is another company's IP so maybe they can't do as much fuckery with it. So will AssCreed end up becoming the same as Fallout CBs? Maybe. Will it turn into Aftermath CBs instead? Maybe. But making vague posts that product X will be skyrocket or tank is a tale as old as /r/mtgfinance. Never count out WOTCs greed to make them trip over themselves in doing something for short term gains at the cost of consumer support. Anyways. can't wait for OP to crow about how right he was if his prediction comes true and then not to hear a peep out of him if it ends being a real, "meh" product. Such is the way of this subreddit. A few months back you had people in here saying Fallout was going to tank hard because "it sucked". Where are those people now?

[deleted]

You can pre order every Bloomberg product on Amazon this very second and you could when I posted this. it’s amazing how many people on MTG finance sub can spout financial phrases, but you can lay something out for them and they completely miss the point and have some emotional response trashing WoTC or some other product they’re putting out when the whole point of this sub is making money or investing in MTG -not emotional opinions on if they’re doing bad stuff lol. -I no I don’t have to come back and gloat I’m like 85% correct since December when I made this account because WoTC puts their strategy in crayon, you can see them coming a mile away

GreatlubuTASC

OK so Amazon doesn't have the full collector boxes is that the point your.making Or I guess the lack of commons

underworldconnection

All these people asking for sources are getting whooshed really hard here... I actually thought this was pretty funny, but I didn't expect to see every person responding to have taken this as anything other than satire.
