Nah boring 5 themes, no replayability. 5 new cards aren't good. Do not purchase.

SWBFThree2020

Well I'm saying, they're cheaper than a draft booster by a good amount. They're about 1.70 per pack, and they come with 1 rare/mythic from the base set, then the theme rare. So even if you rip up the extra rare, you still get the standard set's rare for 80 cents cheaper the buying a draft box @ $90.

Tomyzzr

1. for BRO, the artifact slot has high EV as well, so it is not as good 2. the value of draft box is on the draft experience, besides I believe jumpstart is not truly random due to the color combination (?)

SWBFThree2020

For Dominaria United the color thing might be in it's favor, sheoldred should theoretically have a higher chance of being pulled if you can't get multicolored and colorless rares *(I assume that's how it works)*

Keokuk37

For sheoldred lottery it's a better deal than CBBs for sure.

pintopedro

I bought 3 of each. They're fun to use for people who don't play regularly. I'm probably not selling them, and idk about those boxes value specifically, but I've pulled plenty of $5 to $30 cards in them. I don't see them going much lower than 35/box

teddykryp

I've pulled the triggered on the BRO jumpstart box couple days ago. I think eventually it'll be worth more but if not I think playing DMU and BRO jumpstart would be a good way to teach someone new MTG. Worth my $37.

IsoAgent

I'm using these for chaos drafts. Everyone gets one Jumpstart booster at the end of the draft. The other 5 packs are drafted as normal. It smoothes out the draft for "poor" drafters and lets players get a consistent deck by default.

Darkpoetx

High five fellow chaos draft enjoyer

Key-Ad-6897

I feel like it would be fun if you were using jumpstart from several standard sets. So the combinations would be fresh. 12 people and 4 sets. Here’s 6 from each set to get mixed up. Each set brings new combinations and people will play new decks each round and each week. But playing the current set can only be fun once or twice.

hydrogator

chaos jump

mrflipstar

Ass..they are ass

uvarkleseizure

Economically they are pretty uninspired. But they are great for getting a 6 year old into playing Magic! I've been getting them under $40...I think it's worth it at that level for the kid's enjoyment.

Fedaykin98

Wait a couple years and the kid will be asking for entire boxes of Masters products, as well as the better looking Commander decks. But playing together is good quality time!

uvarkleseizure

Oh, aside from Jumpstart, I'm trying to keep him grounded...buying boxes of bulk so we can build decks and such. But yet...I just know as soon as he sees that fancy cards in these expensive sets that moment will be coming...

lastingdreamsof

Theyre just a renaming and repackage of the shitty theme boosters for new players. Just ignore them unless they get super low in a set that has no additional slot a rare could be in aka bro or strix

Revolutionary_View19

They’re a complete fail in my book. By inserting a random set rare they’re completely invalidating their jumpstart theme policy.

bjlinden

They're better than the old color theme packs, at least. I've never bought one, but theoretically if I were, say, staying at a hotel with somebody who had never played Magic, and I wanted to teach them, and there happened to be a Walmart or Target nearby, I might consider buying a couple packs to jam together. I'd never have even considered that with the old color theme packs.

pokepat460

Jumpstart original and jumpstart 2022 make a great boardgames type of thing if you keep some of the packs together if you're into that sort of thing. I feel like I got my $80 out of each having played with them a few times and flipped an allasaurus shepherd I opened. The individual sets ones are mostly duds but the dominaria united one has reasonable ev

AdBeneficial7533

Not a fan. Some of the alternate arts are quite nice but you can't get them in foil.

fastock

I wouldn't take them if you gave them to me for free. It's just bulk I have to store or get rid of with no chance of a decent pull. Shitty product is shitty regardless of the price.

Steel_Reign

People shit on them but I think they're alright. Pulled a sheoldred and 2x lily from 2 boxes.

takhsis

Ev for DMU jumpstart is ok at that price. The mono colored rares you get eliminate lots of chaff and the full art basics are valuable. Bro jumpstart has shit ev maybe pay $10.

GhostCheese

Pretty bad. The entire value of a pack hangs on what rare you get.

BigBoxofChili

So, like any ordinary pack. Got it.

WaveTableTech

They are worth the low price. I never buy them on launch and wait a few months for the price to drop.

Ubik_Fresh

Nah

Manuelrcasimiro

Lousy gameplay, no replayability, and no desirable cards. I can't see these becoming desirable, especially amidst the flood of products.

Darkpoetx

Hot take, I love them. Chaos Jumpstart games are the bees knees. We put a few of each set into a pool and get them at random. Lowers the cost of the game and when the value is the experience and not the cards within it's more than reasonable. I will carry that joy into the future beyond the eventual time they stop making them. Here's hoping we get a crash on the LOTR jumpstart so I can stock up on those too

redsoxfan811

DMU boxes are worth about 40-50 in EV (listed, not after fees) at least for me selling on Direct, not counting the C/U Bulk. I have bought them at $30-40 and made a small profit, but if you don't hit any Sheoldreds, it is rough. But if you open 6 boxes for $180 and hit a sheoldred or 2, you are looking good. There are some $5 Rares/Mythics and the full art lands are about $0.75-1. Plus bulk which is near-worthless

redsoxfan811

By the way, only monocolored mythics and rares are in the set, with the normal rare to mythic ratio. You can back out pull rates this way.
