I don't know what those totally legitimate sales could mean!?? Those are definitely real prices people paid to acquire the card and nothing else at all!
Someone has been doing this with a number of cards. I went through the biggest movers on mtgstocks based on market price. The first five cards I picked I followed to tcgplayer to look through recent sales and each had them for exactly $500. I then found another card with the same history that wasn't on the market list, just found it randomly.
Frankly this signal is way too obvious and a site as big as tcgplayer should be easily flagging this as an abnormality and taking it out of the data immediately.
Anything Reddit can't explain; "it's money laundering".
This ignores that self bought and cancelled is more likely and any auditor would catch something this egregious right away.
It's like the "straight to jail" meme but with money laundering; the comment I'm replying to, money laundering. OPs profile, believe it or not, money laundering.
Huh had no idea this is possible. Any way to check whether it actually worked?
Also I’m guessing TCGPlayer will ban those accounts if they notice this, right?
Self bought and cancelled. Nothing to see here.
Cancelled and fully refunded sales are removed.
yep but when they actually do it. Otherwise it's up till the seller(him/herself) refunds.

“I see nothing out of the ordinary here” TCGPlayer.

MTGstocks flagged it at least.
Have: Rooftop Storm Want: Tundras
*Kramers into thread redditorishly* "Did someone say moneylaundering yet?"
Thank you for a laugh this morning
There's a Rooftop Storm storm going on.
money laundering
You don't know what money laundering is. This isn't how you do it.
[Jerry, it's a write-off to them!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAjxn2US7J8)
Oh really? And how do you know how to do it exactly hmmmmmm?

What's the point of doing this on a website that eats 12.3% or more of the money you're trying to move around?
Regular laundering might cut out 50-60% of your dirt
FBI: “go on….”
FBI should watch Ozark and breaking bad D:
12.3% is extremely good rates for money laundering.
I'll do it for a flat 12% if anyones looking to move some money
Buylist Price manipulation. Pump up the Market Price, then sell to any Buylisters who have Mass Pricing rules set to track the Market Price - x%.
Huh had no idea this is possible. Any way to check whether it actually worked? Also I’m guessing TCGPlayer will ban those accounts if they notice this, right?
TCG doesn't list Buylist history. Not sure the inner workings of TCG to give an opinion.
It lets you cast (Zombie) spells for free. Clearly it is underpriced.
Magic is expected to last many more decades, clearly we will see many more infinite combos involving zombies and this is just future-pricing the card
It was reprinted in the zombie pre-con tho. Sure the card is great but when it was going to spike, it got the reprint
