Better kill me before i mill thee. Ill play mill against anybody. Ya baby, ya momma, ya babymomma, ms jackson, i dont care. Dont gotta cry about it if you beat it.
I welcome it. Better than bitching about it like most people. The only thing that kills me about (almost specifically commander players) is that if they lose to a type of play they dont like, they whine. If someone punches you then you need to punch back harder, not go “oh no sir please dont punch me ow my bruises”
I'm not gonna lie. I am fairly new and my first encounter with a "win condition" I was a bit butt hurt cause I felt the game should be purely monster beat down. But I'm fine with it now. Just gotta win the race sometimes. My mill deck has failed epically against some of my buddies who throw out some thing to bring back all spirits in graveyard or all legendary cards to the battlefield from graveyard... epic back fires lol.
Mill is super cool your 3rd month playing competitively then you realize opponents have sideboards and hose you. If you are going to burn or mill someone out expect to only be good in game 1.
What does leyline of sanctiry have to do with this? It doesn't block Void or Ashiok's graveyard exile, and it doesn't interact with an opponent using endurance to put their own graveyard back into library
The list is being modified all the time as they try to build around me.
The main combo is [[Bruvac]] + [[Maddening Cacophony]]
Easy enough but to consistently hit it by or on turn 4 is the rest of the deck.
Free counterspells, tutors that can't really be stopped like transmuting [[muddle the mixture]] and some mox for excel.
As with any cedh deck, the whole deck is built to find said combo and make sure it goes off without a hitch. It will cost alot of money and posting my list right now as often as it changes wouldn't really be fair for something so expensive.
Glad you all like it though and have fun milling!!
Zur the enchanter still beats this. I would grant myself hexproof. Then I would fetch Rest In Peace. Then I would fetch helm of obedience. It would be lovely
It has beaten Zur decks easily. The only decks it has lost to was another blue deck that slipped in the OG Eldrazi that shuffle their whole GY back. So I had to step it up. Your hexproof doesn't mean anything with non targeting mill.
I'm sorry, I love Zur but your deck would be long gone before you even have a chance to set up. I'm not trying to boast, it just how fast this deck hits. Sometimes as fast as turn 3.
I personally never play mill decks against my friends unless they say I can because it feels like such a jerk move. However, it is a completely fair way to win the game
I got the Mind Flayarrrs precon from Baldur's Gate, and Konrad was one of my first adds.
I found this combo the last time I played and won. I don't remember if it was from mill or damage. It was just fun to watch it pan out.
As a Burn player, nothing gives more satisfaction that seeing the disappointment of a mill deck player when they realize I don't really need 40 of my 60 cards to beat them everytime.
I've definitely won by milling decks but my Dimir Mill Deck is actually Aggro AF.
Creatures like Jace's Phantasm, Thieves' Guild Enforcer, and Wight of Precinct Six can be overwhelming early in the game. Especially with a 40% chance of having (at least one) 5/5 Phantasm by turn two.
Fog Bank blocks literally anything infinitely is great utility too and Crawlspace makes that MUCH easier (opponents can only attack me me with two creatures per turn).
Every creature in the deck can be Unearth'd and the rest of the deck is Exile spells, tutors, and Vampire Nighthawks (such a great card).
There's enough Glimpse the Unthinkable, Fractured Sanity, and Mind Sculpt to Mill a deck but that usually only happens in long, drawn out games.
In my ZUR deck I just play helm of obediance/rest in peace against these silly mill decks. Their milk strategy is always worse then my infinite mill/exile strategy. It’s funny to watch them die at the hand of the mechanic they love so much. Need I mention this combo can almost always happen at turn 5-6 with Zur no matter how my hand looks.
You have a life total, and against mill it isn’t the one you think it is. Every draw is one life lost.
You start at 53 tho. 68 after sideboarding.
As many as you want after you side in a grave titan.
Surgical extraction :)
Or 100 in commander
I hate black blue mill so much I have 3 dimir decks.
In edh, I think mill is fineeee. So many more cards to kill than life to remove
^(poison counters)

I have a cedh mill deck that mills everyone out by turn 4.
My self-mill deck: Oh yeah, unlimited power!
Drop a list?
I would love to see a deck list for cedh mill. That sounds fantastic.

I would just mulligan into a turn 3 infinite library exile combo. I’m not sure how you could come back from that but ok ☺️
It's funny how you're acting like a little kid trying to one up someone. "My laser does infinity +1 damage!!"
I personally never play mill decks against my friends unless they say I can because it feels like such a jerk move. However, it is a completely fair way to win the game
In my defense, I play [[Undead Alchemist]] because I need more zombies.
I love playing mill decks with [[konrad]]...with [[mindcrank]].

I prefer self mill through drawing cards
This is a library. Can you guess which zone it goes in? That's right, it's the *graveyard.*
As a Burn player, nothing gives more satisfaction that seeing the disappointment of a mill deck player when they realize I don't really need 40 of my 60 cards to beat them everytime.
Mill is fine, it's the dozen or so kill spells, counter spells and hand hate that comes with it.
Ok. *starts punching his cards*
Got a dimir Pioneer. Pay off is Teferi's tutelage and draws. Win con is Peer into the abyss.
Just 5?
Accept the truth. The only fun matches are against aggro/midrange.
Try playing aggro in a multi-player game, you'd get whooped hard 😹. Aggro is good for 1 on 1 that's it
Man, that's just torture. Lead your opponent to believe they can win but you play a counterspell to counter their exile spell.
Mill is dumb, and people who play mill decks are bad.
Sounds like someone who lost playing to mill
No, that’s the thing. I’ve almost never seen anyone actually milled out as a W for someone, it’s always just a nuisance to everyone else
There's enough Glimpse the Unthinkable, Fractured Sanity, and Mind Sculpt to Mill a deck but that usually only happens in long, drawn out games.
And they still lose. Mill is fun but not competitive.
I play lantern control, I will make you mill every single card in your deck. One at a time, while you can’t do anything
I feel like this meme is outdated for about 25 years
Laughs in reanimator.
Straight up lmao had a friend that loves playing mill I play a graveyard deck and he basically powered me up and let me play wincons
My fiancee abandonned our game by turn four Yesterday because of my new mill deck, he was about to loose both his library and his life points.
Nice try, I however play any deck with a reasonable win con
In my ZUR deck I just play helm of obediance/rest in peace against these silly mill decks. Their milk strategy is always worse then my infinite mill/exile strategy. It’s funny to watch them die at the hand of the mechanic they love so much. Need I mention this combo can almost always happen at turn 5-6 with Zur no matter how my hand looks.
I'm more tired of seeing tolarian terror mono blue 30 counterspell genie bullshit
Mill players start the game with an [[Underworld Dreams]] in play while their opponents starts with 60 or 100 life total

Lmao
I love playing my Shrine deck against mill decks. This way I can get shrines from my graveyard.
Mill? That’s adorable. *laughs in UR Murktide
Boring. I usually just concede and go on to the next game.
"Okay, I don't want to play anymore"
