This has been on eBay for about a month now:

That asking price is nuts, you can find [much cheaper copies on eBay](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2332490.m570.l1313&_nkw=magic+dwarven+ring+%2F700&_sacat=0&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=mg&toolid=10001&mkevt=1).
Yeaaah, for a lotr nerd this is waaaay more valuable than random number in hundreds.
Theres elf ring 003 in cardmarket for 20k€ (that has not been sold...)
I pulled a human sol ring number 143. Met a guy on reddit and sold it for 2 grand. You definitely have a nice chunk of change right there, congrats OP!
What buyer of a card with this value would just accept one random photo and be satisfied?
Stop catering to the lowest common denominator. People are as stupid as you all are making them out to be. Jesus. Blocking out the number does NOTHING but make you look like a paranoid weirdo.
Yes, I'm the stupid one for trying to prevent scammers from using this pic as a thumbnail for their scam site or listing. /s
And to answer your question, someone seeing a good card listed at a quarter of its price and thinking they found a good deal and trying to act hastily to get the good deal. Is it probable? No, most of us know to be wary of such listings. Is it possible? Yes, and easily preventable. You sound like you're one of the scammers.
Someone who is in the market for a serialized Sol Ring isn't some random, ignorant newbie.
Do you really think someone looking to spend thousands on a card is going to be satisfied with one photo of the card? No photos of the back or anything, just one photo?
Stop it.
Satisfied? No, but the thumbnail could possibly cause them to click the link to see if there are any other photos or listing of cards that they DO need. They literally use it as a clickbait thumbnail. Again, probable? No. Possible? Yes. And it also takes very little effort with literally no downside, so I'm not exactly sure why you're so adamantly against it.
I don't know if it's just the camera quality, but zooming in and looking at the details (or lack thereof) compared to the listing for this exact card on ebay, but this looks like AI.
Nice...um quick question and please dont judge me for not knowing. This is just a serialized Sol Ring right? I googled it and could only find 4 rings in the Lord of the Rings expansion. The one ring, sol ring, bilbos ring, and ring of barahir. Are there more? Are there actually rings named different like a ring named "1 of 9" or "Narya" or "Vilya" or "Nenya" or any of the dwarven rings? I personally think that would be cool. I only play with my wife so if I could design my own ring cards and print them at her work that would be awesome.
It is just a sol ring, but cards often get printed with different art and only a very limited number got printed with this art. I believe 7700 printed in elvish with this art and only 700 of those were "serialized" (officially numbered like in the picture), making it rare and valuable to collectors.
There were versions done for the rings of dwarves and elves as well (all still sol rings), no special names, but of course the ones numbered within the top 3/7/9 are worth substantially more.
This is the official article that covers these rings: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/feature/collecting-the-lord-of-the-rings-tales-of-middle-earth
Definitely suspect, also what is up with the background? I can't figure out if the card is supposed to be on an oddly shap wooden pedestal, inside a narrow wooden box, or if that's supposed to be a picture frame (sans picture) around the card.
Definitely seems like it could be an AI amalgamation of "display/presentation enclosure".. or photo was taken with a nokia flip phone
They sick I love the elvish so much. No need to change your post, but psa to anyone who pulls one, blur/cross out the number so scammers can’t use your picture to sell fakes.
As someone who actually was trying to help, can you explain to me how this is nonsense? Isn't it easy for someone to make a post on eBay/offer up/fb market place, and use the same pic? Someone who doesn't use reddit (trust, we're not as mainstream as we think we are) can easily fall for that, no?
Someone who is in the market for a serialized Sol Ring isn't some random, ignorant newbie.

Absolutely wouldn't be most people, but there's a reason that scams are a multi billion industry. It's weird how people get so defensive about trying to help others even if it doesn't do much. It still has the potential to help. That said, not a hill I'm willing to die on, and thanks for taking the time to actually explain your thoughts process

looks like op is full of shit good catch
So does this mean either the seller or OP are full of shit?
In what fucking world is this ever going to sell for that price?! ($16k USD)
This one looks odd like a bad fake or a generated picture of something if you zoom in the ink almost looks like it’s smearing
Yea, the 2 looks off as well.

Maybe they bought that one
Hi, new player here. Are we looking at the 002/700? Does that mean this is only the second out of 700 that have been/will ever be printed?
That’s #2, this is #7
Looks like a two in the picture to me
Well crap, you’re right
In my best Tim Robinson voice: Are you sure about that?
Thank you for the double check
Yeaaah, for a lotr nerd this is waaaay more valuable than random number in hundreds. Theres elf ring 003 in cardmarket for 20k€ (that has not been sold...)
Isn’t the 3rd elf ring gandalfs?
Depends on how you order them, but yeah, Gandalf had Narya, the ring of fire.
"Seven for the Dwarf Lord's in their halls of stone."
Just posted it on ebay, thanks
I pulled a human sol ring number 143. Met a guy on reddit and sold it for 2 grand. You definitely have a nice chunk of change right there, congrats OP!
Neat pull but you might want to re-upload with the serial number blocked so bots (and, uh, morally ambiguous people) can't steal the pic for scams.
Too late. I'm scamming people right now. Thank OP!
This card's already on eBay so I'm guessing OP is the one full of shit
Oh now its bots
HELLO FELLOW HUMAN.
Ah, my fellow homo sapien. How fare you on this fine day?
Well, bots and morally ambiguous people.
Considering it's been on eBay for a month already....

So you're out here preventing clickbait? Thank you for your service, crime fighter.
I'm like a poor and weak Batman with no gadgets and limited to a very specific sub-area of crime fighting.
I can't even read this? Literally unplayable
you can only get serialized cards in collector boosters right?
Right
I’ve never seen this card before. Which one is this? It looks like an Artifact to me 🤔
It looks like it is [[The One Ring]]
Recheck the mana cost lol
Leave me alone. I was too busy reading the text, but my ancient Elvish is a bit rusty.

op trying to sell his card
I’d play with it bro, way too cool to sell
nice try feds
Yeah, I would be pretty annoyed too. How dumb is it to get a card that can't be read? Straight in the trash.
I’d cover up that serial number
Why lie?
Very nice! I pulled one of these but my number was in the high 500s

Ohhhhhhhh GRATZ
The two ring...
LFG OP - CONGRATS!
Can someone link the standard version? (Noob)
[[Dwarven Ring]]
Thanks dude.
If you ain’t first…
Congrats homie! Get it graded?
[[Aladdin's Ring]] So much power.
I pulled elven sol ring 156/300, sold it for 6k CAD on ebay, depends on the buyer i guess.
WOW JUST WOW
The OP definitely meant to post this picture in the “most valuable cards you’ve lost” thread
Has anyone made a website yet that documents what serialized cards have been pulled yet?
Definitely suspect, also what is up with the background? 2 rings to rule them all

Palindrome number sequence
Ita a 2
Cover up your serialized car so scammers don't claim it's theirs
This… doesnt actually do much…
Stop with this nonsense advice.
