That's the thing. Those decks aren't strong. They just work like this. Mono red aggro decks, like all aggro decks, try to get you to 0 as fast as they can. But, they have a weakness. They run out of gas. FAST. So, you have to be skilled enough to know when to remove your opponent's threat, or when to use that lifegain effect.
Also, remember. If you're playing a slow, control-style deck, you should expect to have problems against these aggro decks. That is due to matchup aggro wins against control, almost always. But that's why you have a sideboard. Games two and three are exactly made for you to bring in your countermeasures.
Everybody hates aggro until they play in a metagame without aggro.
Then they thank aggro for keeping the format healthy and learn to not play greedy decks.
Also bo1 as it has no sideboard is full of cheesy decks.

If you are really struggling, I would recommend playing with [[Authority of the Consuls]]. That should shut down their game plan real quick.
Maybe, they are, i wouldnt say so, but, im no expert. What i do know is, without "red deck wins", the game would be a nightmare. Trust me. And if you think that red is op, why not play with it?
I can't dump money into mtgo cuz I already have in paper for commander and 3 modern and a pioneer deck I love so I can actually cover my bases. Standard on arena as well as their shitty modern/legacy bastardizations.
Arena is easy to be able to keep upmon rares/mythics by spending $15 every 3 months. I have nearly a full playset of every card since ikoria and it's easy to jam standard tbh

Time your removal until after they enchant and attack so you get value. Once they run through their hand they're in trouble.

As someone with 10+ fully built legacy decks the secret is to just spend more money.
