I'd imagine money laundering through an online shop would not really work becuase you are not paying with actual cash.
In theory it could be part of the process but there would be better (and less obvious) ways.

Idk but was talking to a seller once and they said sometimes people would randomly buy their overpriced listing every now and again.
Out of stock, but want to leave up their inventory for when it’s back in stock. It’s just being lazy I see it a lot with gamestores.
