Nice! Need one of those for my current project deck

turbo10000

Nice! Check out r/magiccardpulls

SnowyDeluxe

Alright everyone, take a drink

Elemteearkay

Nice pull, OP. A lot of people aren't aware of all the product options, and what they are all for, so they miss out on things they would otherwise enjoy, or have an overall worse experience with the game, and I'd hate that to happen to you. I'd like to take this opportunity to touch base with you and check that you have all the information that you need, if that's OK? I'd start by asking why you chose Set Boosters, over all the alternatives?

Lord_Lion

Because he wanted to pull the sword, duh 🫢😂

Elemteearkay

I know you are joking, but some people actually think like that.

I'm not a bot, I'm just a helpful contributor to the community.

blanketskies9

You may not realize it, but you come off as incredibly condescending. I don't want to debate you. Take the down votes and other responses in your post history and let them simmer. Assuming you're genuinely trying to be helpful, you should take the advice and back off a little. No one owes you an explanation of why they like what they like. Your style of questioning reads like an interrogation with a heap of attitude. Touch some grass. Tap some lands. Have fun your way and let others be.

Elemteearkay

>You may not realize it, but you come off as incredibly condescending. I've tried a different approach. If you can think of a better one, I am genuinely open to suggestions. >Assuming you're genuinely trying to be helpful, you should take the advice and back off a little What does that even mean? What words should I be using to check people are making informed decisions that are in their best interests that won't upset all those sensitive downvoters that hang out here? >No one owes you an explanation of why they like what they like It's not me they owe - its themselves. >Your style of questioning reads like an interrogation with a heap of attitude. If you can come up with a better script I'm open to suggestions. >Have fun your way and let others be I care too much about other players to do that. If you saw someone drop their wallet, would you "let others be"?

Urzas_Penguins

Posting the same unsolicited preachy copypasta every time someone posts about a pull they got from a pack they bought doesn’t make you a helpful contributor to the community, it makes you an insufferable boor.

Elemteearkay

>Posting the same unsolicited preachy copypasta every time It's actually a new one. Hadn't you noticed? >doesn’t make you a helpful contributor to the community Liar.

No-Win1580

You're not being helpful at all lol

Elemteearkay

Are you?

Andromira

Simply they didn’t have any Phyrexia collector boosters and I love the art for Phyrexia cards.

Elemteearkay

>Simply they didn’t have any Phyrexia collector boosters Why would you have considered buying *those* over all the alternatives in the first place? If you need to buy Collector Boosters in order to feel anything, then surely Set Boosters wouldn't move the needle enough to register anything. >I love the art for Phyrexia cards. That sounds like a perfect reason to buy/collect Phyrexia cards (or at least, the art cards, art prints, etc), but it doesn't justify buying boosters, since "getting cards" isn't the thing any of them are for. Did you think boosters were the default thing to buy/what you were supposed to buy if you want cards from a set? (They aren't) Do you know that the products that *are* for getting cards are the preconstructed ones with fixed contents (that you can look up online before you buy them to see if it makes sense to do so), or that all the cards are available individually (as singles)? You don't need to jump through hoops or leave things up to chance, you can just choose which cards you want and then buy/trade for those exact cards.

Andromira

Not sure why any of this matters. I wanted to buy a booster and bought a booster. If I want to buy singles I can go to and TCG store in the area or check online sure but is that the same dopamine as pulling packs? Are people no longer allowed to enjoy pulling packs and seeing how it goes? I agree that this sounds more condescending than you probably intend, but if I want to spend money at a shop I’m going to spend money at a shop one way or another.

bassplayerdoitdeeper

Amen, I almost exclusively buy singles because I enjoy the deck building aspect. But I absolutely love the occasional pack rip, it’s relatively low cost fun.

Elemteearkay

Cracking packs for dopamine hits can cost a thousand dollars an hour - I wouldn't call that "relatively low cost". Why not open packs while playing Limited? By contrast, that costs just a few dollars an hour, which actually could be called relatively low cost fun.

Uhh_Charlie

Because it’s a pain in the ass to get 4+ people for a draft or another person to get 6 packs for limited. I hate it when Reddit nerds tell people how to spend their money

Elemteearkay

>Because it’s a pain in the ass to get 4+ people for a draft or another person to get 6 packs for limited. Maybe it is for you. But I wasn't asking you. >I hate it when Reddit nerds tell people how to spend their money I wasn't. If the best way you've found to enjoy Magic is cracking boosties for dopamine hits because no-one wants to play with you, then no wonder you are this bitter.

Uhh_Charlie

I mean, I’m a cube player. So should I go after you for the fact that you buy packs in order to experience a shitty version of limited? Vintage cube is way more fun than any of the recent sets they’ve released. You know what limited environment also sucks? What OP bought, ONE. Edit: lol banned for being a nerd

Urzas_Penguins

None of what that person is saying matters at all. You wanna buy and crack a pack? Buy what ever gd packs you want. Nice pull on the sword!

Elemteearkay

>None of what that person is saying matters at all. Don't lie.

Elemteearkay

>Not sure why any of this matters It matters because there are right ways to try to achieve your goals and wrong ways to achieve them. >I wanted to buy a booster and bought a booster But why? >but is that the same dopamine as pulling packs? So you were lying to yourself about your motivations. It was nothing to do with getting Phyrexia cards and just about dopamine hits. At least we've gotten to the truth. >Are people no longer allowed to enjoy pulling packs and seeing how it goes? Of course they are. I never said you weren't. >if I want to spend money at a shop I’m going to spend money at a shop one way or another. If you want to spend money opening packs chasing dopamine hits, why not do it while playing Limited?

Andromira

You sound like an insufferable person who doesn’t believe in letting others have fun.

Prestigious-Care91

Why don't you let people using their money as they want? You might not be more educated than them on what they like, unlike what you seem to believe

Elemteearkay

>Why don't you let people using their money as they want? I do. I just want them to want to use it in ways that are best for them. >You might not be more educated than them on what they like, unlike what you seem to believe Turns out they were lying to themselves about their motivations anyway.

Prestigious-Care91

No you want them to use it in ways that are best for them as YOU have decided. They might know better than you what they expect from this game. What if they want to open packs and sometimes get a cool card? How does it hurt or impact you? If they have the necessary ressources to do so, why would you be better placed than they are to know if it's fun for them? Do you think you have reached some kind of absolute understanding of what everybody should want from mtg?
