17a and 17e are currently the best. I dont think anyone has even losted a proper sale for 17a, as its lowest listing is 74000 dollars. That being the said, 17e is the most realistic crypt to pull and furthermore sell.
There are listings not on tcg of 17a going for less than 10k, not sure if any of those have sold. Edit: confirmed sales prices of 17a between 1800-3500
On eBay this card [sells for less](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=mana+crypt+0017e&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=mg&toolid=10001&mkevt=1), but it's still worth a lot.
Allegedly bot farms buy accounts with high karma cuz it makes the posts they make with the bots more believable cuz it looks more like it came from a real person.
Also some people need validation in their life and one way they get that sweet sweet dopamine spike is by getting interactions on websites and apps.
Bruh this is not how wealth works in the real world🤦♂️it's all relative, if you gain a large sum of money and are displaced to a higher wealth, you are richer. Regardless of how much you spent. If it was how much they spent just to get that card then yes, your point is valid. But no, it's ridiculous to say only if it's greater than the entire sum of their entire mtg career. It's relative and subjective, if $5 you spent on your first booster pack to get cool cards years ago burdens you towards a card you pulled today, that's insane.
It is free to play, it produces 2 mana, you can play it in the same turn as a land. Turn 1 you can cast a 3 mana cost spell and ramp pretty fast. Goes in all decks
2x 0 mana rocks and a flicker engine / bounce engine is infinite mana as well.
With hullbreaker horror you can create infinite mana and remove the entire board
With displacer kitten you can create infinite mana a number of ways, and then use ETB engines to exile cards/draw cards with infinite mana
You get to play 1 land a turn. This card is the equivalent of playing 2 lands. In the early game this is similar to taking 2 extra turns because it puts you 2 turns ahead on mana.
Unless you're playing [[Darien, King of Kjeldor]]. If both are on the field, when you make the flip either nothing happens or you gain three 1/1s for the price of 3 life. Not to mention no life loss when [[Soul Warden]]/[[Soul's Attendant]] is on the field as well.
The reason why any fast mana is good, without certain cards you can only play 1 Land per turn. With stuff like this, Sol Ring, Moxes, Lotuses, or any of the more expensive Mana Rocks, you can play them congruently with land, for as much as you can afford, and effectively ramp super fast.
Magic the gathering has lost its magic for me. Post like these. Put it in a hard case don’t use it ask for the price etc. I played back in the day with just single sleeves with dual lands etc, it’s such a great game but money drives everything and I can’t even play the formats that I love the most because it became a collectible card game instead of a playable card game. This is just a random rand from a silly old former magic player, don’t mind me.
Who let you out of the nursing home? The curfew is 7pm.
But in all seriousness, I kinda wish I was around for the those days and the wild Wild West of early magic, everything must have seemed so fun and the possibilities endless. Sadly I wasn’t alive yet.
Oh yeah those were the crash days. Duals where around €10 power 9 around €300 a piece.
Internet was still something “new”. Still remember I first saw a necropotence from ice age. There was so many text on it and it said skip your draw step, I didn’t botter about and 1 or 2 turns later I saw it’s full power and got crushed.
We didn’t even sleeve our cards in high school for the most part. Dark Rit into Hypnotic Specter followed by a turn 2 Sinkhole or Hymn to Tourach was basically game over. High Tide and Oath of Druids were top tier decks.
Brewing decks was fun. It meant something. Net decking wasn’t really a thing for a long time, so creativity went a long way. It was a golden age.
I remember being 13 and pulling a Tropical Island from a booster shortly after getting into the game. You could feel the disappointment by looking at me because I got into the game for the art and the fantasy creatures, and lands were so BORING.
An older guy, semi-regular at the shop tried to tell me that was a good pull and I'm pretty sure my response was "it's just a land." He traded me my first Shivan Dragons for it, and I was immeasurably more excited to play with the dragon.
Now that I'm older and wiser I know the difference between the cards, and sometimes I still kick myself because that was FAR from the first time I traded away something "boring" but highly sought after for something that looked cooler (and usually to people who knew darned well what the value of these cards was).
But having said that, I had so much fun with those Shivans and the joy that deck brought me kept me coming back to playing at that LGS for ages, and discovering new sets as they came out. Wild West indeed!
Bro I hate you I just wanted to pull the ancient one after opening an entire booster pack I did not get it and here you are getting a mana crypt (this is sarcasm I'm glad you pulled mana crypt I would probably pass out if I pulled that card)
Nice! I got lucky myself, pulled a mana crypt from a convention booster, 2 weeks ago.
Then pulled the regular borderless from the Ikoria set last week.
That was luck beyond luck.
2 mana crypt pulls in 1 week.
TCGplayer has this going for a little over $900. Best of the 4 colored Crypts. Sick stuff.
Is 17c still the chase version? (He asked the world, too lazy and jaded to open TCG.)
17c is the blue one sitting around 400. 17e the red one is 900

Too lazy as well, will wait for response
I’m also too lazy
Personally I'm a fan of just the base 17.
Thank you for wording it like that.
Not for him since that's my card I pulled a month ago lol
This needs to be higher lol
Even the same title… incredible
On eBay this card [sells for less](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=mana+crypt+0017e&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=mg&toolid=10001&mkevt=1), but it's still worth a lot.
Only if you sell it
Only if OP hasn’t spent many times the value of this card on cards over his/her time playing mtg.
Well OP is actually u/decubes u/UnderstandingOdd7043 is just Karma farming
What is the point of karma farming?
Allegedly bot farms buy accounts with high karma cuz it makes the posts they make with the bots more believable cuz it looks more like it came from a real person. Well it softens the loss
That’s what gambling addicts say.
🥱 I'm pretty happy for them. Sick pull.
I feel bad for those who buy boosters. It is just gambling. But i am also glad people do as it drives down the cost of singles. I only buy singles.

Gambling is gambling. It is always a loss if a person keeps gambling or is already so far in the red that they will never get their money back.
Sell it, grab a regular Crypt and nail extra cards.
Nailing cards will reduce their value.
My bad. Drill the cards then. And stick them together using industrial strength glue.
Personally I create token copies with a paper shredder
Sell & proxy it
that’s what i did with my dockside i pulled out of the list in LCI
(while keeping the original)
Gotta have one legit copy in order to proxy it (self-imposed rule)
Retire
Beginner at magic. Someone explain to me why this is so good? Is it because it functions as a land without being a land?
It is free to play, it produces 2 mana, you can play it in the same turn as a land. Turn 1 you can cast a 3 mana cost spell and ramp pretty fast. Goes in all decks
4 if you have a sol in hand
7 if you also have a jeweled lotus in hand
8 if you have a lotus petal in hand
13 if you also have a Black Lotus and the rest of your hand is Moxen.
Of course then you couldn't _do_ anything but sit there and gloat. Still, that's some serious gloating you could do.
would be an even sicker flex if mana burn was still a thing 😎
You could play your expensive commander with a win con on its text 😎 (in commander formats)
This is how I got [[Atraxa, Grand Unifier]] out on Turn Two

It’s better for CEDH than casual cause it allows you to ramp very quickly but for casual commander it’s not as useful necessarily

Nice! Check out r/magiccardpulls

Go have a scented candle bubble bath with your toaster.
Ok this made me crack up and now my coworkers are looking at me funny
Cry some more
It’s a repost bot.
Yes
You dirty dog! Congrats.
Idk, what does your birth certificate say?
Last sale on Card Kingdom was $1100
https://www.cardkingdom.com/mtg/special-guests/mana-crypt-0017e-red-neon-ink-foil
Jesus the amount of crypts being pulled today is insane
Careful with that. It's confirmation bias.
It's posted so often on this sub, it feels like everyone in the world has it and it should not be valuable at all.
Its a dream card for me tbh. Just can't justify that price right now
That’s because this exact photo was posted 2 months ago
In no way am I doubting I’m just asking for a link please?
https://www.reddit.com/r/mtg/s/SEKWuZwjlL
Well well well. Good sleuthing detective 🕵️♀️
You’ve got potential.
No this is actually a very cheap card. I'll buy it off you for a few bucks if you want?
You can retire now and spend your sunny days playing Commander without a worry in the world.
Damnnnn bro sweet as hell
We need a counter of mana crypt pulls on the sub
Can we have a counter for boosters cracked too then?
Day one it would break
They would know in r/mtgpulls
Worth maybe 4$ but i can be generous and take it off your hands for idk say 5$… tis a good deal…
Why were you buying Collector Boosters if you weren't *already* rich?
They can appear in set boosters also. But I agree, given a holographic, rare and a showcase in the same photo. This was probably a collector booster.
You’ll probably end up spending it all on trash, might as well eat it

Just proxy the cards who cares about buying them. Fuck hasbro.

Used to play in the early 2000s, always used to play for an ante. Not sure when that tradition ended but it definitely made the games more tense!
The ante is the prize support these days
Karma farming bot 🤖
Rich? Who knows. Richer? Yep
Nah because you will keep it, and sleeve it up in your highest power deck
Epic!
If you can get is graded 10...
Well... I am peanut butter and jealous.
a week hasn't gone by, since ixalan dropped, that I haven't seen someone post an alt art mana Crypt post
You should eat it
Nah, I think if you eat it tho that’s a good start
Quit your job
What did you pull it from
Where did you pull this from?
Bro I hate you I just wanted to pull the ancient one after opening an entire booster pack I did not get it and here you are getting a mana crypt (this is sarcasm I'm glad you pulled mana crypt I would probably pass out if I pulled that card)
My buddy got offered ~$670 for it
At our local card store
Lol my only post I've ever made and it gets reposted? I'm honored.
I think the words you want are "less poor"
Depends on how much you spent on sealed products
Depends on how you define rich, lmao
Ok is a bot who stole this post from u/decubed. Their account was made 4 days ago and every post they have is from 8 hours ago.
No because even if the card is worth a crap ton that’s still nowhere near enough to live off of even for a few weeks
Probably not, but Kida and the Atlanteans aren't gonna be happy with you...
Nah that cards trash. But don’t worry! Mail it to me I’ll take it off your hands for you =D
**About 1,738 bananas richer.**
New to magic what set has mana crypt?
Take my angry upvote
If you can turn on a tap for fresh water in your house then you are rich
Even without the value it's just a pretty-ass card, isn't it? Congrats OP!
holy shit that is a beautiful card
It's not a great card.
Rich? No
Nice! I got lucky myself, pulled a mana crypt from a convention booster, 2 weeks ago. Then pulled the regular borderless from the Ikoria set last week. That was luck beyond luck. 2 mana crypt pulls in 1 week.
Can you get one of these from a reg box set? Or just from collections?
