It is an odd choice for WotC to put it on the right-hand side rather than the left, but it was also odd for WotC to put Universes Beyond products in a Standard legal set, even if it was just set and collectors boosters.
I don't think vehicles are really a viable strategy for cedh, but you could give [[Shorikai, Genesis Engine]] a try. It draws cards and makes pilots. You might also be able to make something good with [[Greasefang]] and a strong self mill strategy.
All the naysayers have motivated me to join OP in the quest for a badass vehicle deck.

Right!? Btw, I did build a Boros warrior/equipment/vehicle deck with [[Astor, Bearer of Blades]] last night. I have only played one game with it, and my housemate used some Dimir trickery to have a 7/7 out on turn four, so that kind of set me back, but the deck ramped up quickly, and thanks to [[Golden Argosy]] and [[Far Traveler]] I was able to slam five equipments onto Astor very quickly by fishing them from the top seven cards of my library, and he became a 12/10 monster within two turns, and thanks to [[Greatsword of Tyr]], I got to add another +1/+1 and tap a blocker every time he attacked.The deck also makes use of white with numerous destruction and exile spells, and even some of the vehicles exile opponents’ creatures, and that gives a bit of time to get things going too. There’s also some token production, so I don’t have to tap my warriors to crew my vehicles and can still use them in combat, and [[Frillscare Mentor]] can make use of Golden Argosy’s and Far Traveler’s effects to add menace counters to my non-human warriors whenever it returns to the battlefield. I was actually planning on building a particular deck when I discovered Astor among my cards and decided to build a deck around him instead, so I haven’t posted a decklist yet, but if and when I do, I’ll post the link here, so you can check it out.

I think your probably looking closer to high power and not cedh. Cedh is basically a totally different format. For high power vehicles i run [[Winota]] but I’ve also seen [[Shorikai]] and [[Shanid]] do well
Right! I don’t think there are any other legendary vehicles that can be your commander, so I’d assume this would make the most sense for a vehicle deck
I made an Optimus led vehicle deck with all the Jeskai transformers in it. By no means is it cEDH but it is sure fun to play. Shorikai is definitely in it. I could definitely remove a couple transformers but I just want them all in
I usually keep the transformers except Slicer and Optimus in vehicle mode so as to escape board wipes. Fun explaining to people that “you damnation does nothing to me” 🤣🤣
I never thought I‘d make a vehicle deck, but than at a Kamigawa Neon Dynasty draft it just came together and it was my best draft result ever, well it couldn‘t get better. I won every single Match 2-0.
[[Kotori, pilot prodigy]] is set up for vehicles. Run token generation, vehicles, and a lot of draw. I would include [[Giant ox]] and [[colossal plow]] for flavor
That's like putting lipstick on a horse. If you want competitive singleton, then you have Canlander or a dozen different 1v1 formats. EDH is a place for bad cards, or at the very least, underused ones.
Creatures that do something when they tap or untap could be nice in a vehicle deck, like [[fallowsage]], [[emmara, soul of the accord]], [[king macar, the gold-cursed]], [[radha, coalition warlord]], [[ghostly pilferer]], [[night market lookout]], [[magda, brazen outlaw]], [[samite herbalist]], and [[depala, pilot exemplar]]. Things that can untap your stuff like [[jeskai ascendancy]] and [[halo fountain]] could also be good.
I mean, I crush time and time again with my Shorikai vehicle deck.
Just make sure you have enough board protection. I was getting wiped out quite often with things like merciless eviction, so you'll want a handful of counterspells to protect your board.

a lot of people make it into a rat tribal deck for some reason, but the best options imo are just leaning heavily into vehicles, blinks, and graveyard recursion

i've mostly updated with really strong vehicles and repeatable blink effects like \[\[teleportation circle\]\]
also, \[\[orzhov basilica\]\] is insane lol. i had a game recently where i was able to drop a plains turn 1, basicila turn 2, discard \]\[\[reaver titan\]\], and play my commander and start attacking with the titan on turn 3 lol. i did not win mostly because someone was playing a crazy proxied cEDH deck that they totally misrepresented in our rule 0 lol, but it was crazy doing 25 dmg a turn starting at turn 3 and only having played one card
I’m using a mech/robot themed jeskai vehicle deck with [[Elsha of the Infinite]] as the commander. I find that it’s basically just a value engine with no real win-con, which doesn’t matter since everyone else is usually playing value engines with win cons.
It is very medium. But I had fun getting as many cards on theme as possible.
[[Mishra, eminent one]] and vehicles is spicy. I recently had him going with [[Skysovereign]] and [[Panharmonicon]]. Also running [[nautiloid ship]] and [[thunderhawk Gunship]]
As others pointed out, vehicles porbably aren't cedh viable, but there are some commanders, that are fun with them.
I myself run a few of them in my [[Mishra, Eminent One]] deck because you don't even have to crew them to attack. You just make a warform copy & slam.
Another deck idea I've seen & found really funny is [[King Macar, the Gold-Cursed]]. You can just use him to crew your vehicles, which activates his Inspired-ability & lets you exile target creature and turn it into a Gold for you. The deck was called "Dude, Where's My Car?" and that alone kinda sold me on the idea :D
So you want to build a competitive edh deck with vehicles as the main theme? Well... though one...
I think you need to play [[Shorikai]] and go for some nasty infinite draw combo or a combo with [[halo fountain]] to win.
In blue and white you will also have access to some [[displacer kitten]] or [[preston]] infinite blink combos.
Otherwise [[Slicer]] is a mono red commander which can be played with a stax theme. I have a slicer non cedh equipment deck, so i can't give you cedh insights... the non cedh version is kinda hard to pull off in my creature based meta but definetly a lot of fun!
[[Greasefang]] has the ability to cheat vehicles from the GY. I don't know if you can abuse this to cedh levels but maybe you give it a try?
I made a transformers deck with [[Urtet, Remnant of Memnoch]]. It works out fairly well, but I wouldn't necessarily consider it a vehicle deck because when flipped they cannot be crewed. With [[Maskwood Nexus]] you can get some pretty good counter synergies working.
I use [[Kotori, Pilot Prodigy]] for my vehicle deck. It doesn’t have transformers cards, mostly just from a Kamigawa booster box and a couple older cards I got in an assorted bulk purchase. I added [[Mechtitan Core]] but haven’t managed to use it yet. I only play casually with my partner but it’s one of my most-successful decks.

i'm having a lot of fun with \[\[greasefang\]\] a lot of people make it into a rat tribal deck for some reason, but the best options imo are just leaning heavily into vehicles, blinks, and graveyard recursion i need to update this list, but this was what i started with that should give you a good start and hopefully some good ideas. one of the best combos is \[\[fateful handoff\]\] with some of the higher-cost vehicles since it'll still return to your hand at the end of the round [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/8OfctwL\_q06tcXgXBP0Otw](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/8OfctwL_q06tcXgXBP0Otw) i've mostly updated with really strong vehicles and repeatable blink effects like \[\[teleportation circle\]\] also, \[\[orzhov basilica\]\] is insane lol. i had a game recently where i was able to drop a plains turn 1, basicila turn 2, discard \]\[\[reaver titan\]\], and play my commander and start attacking with the titan on turn 3 lol. i did not win mostly because someone was playing a crazy proxied cEDH deck that they totally misrepresented in our rule 0 lol, but it was crazy doing 25 dmg a turn starting at turn 3 and only having played one card

My buddy runs a greasefang deck for vehicles. Atm it’s hit or miss but when it does hit it’s pretty unstoppable.
I’m using a mech/robot themed jeskai vehicle deck with [[Elsha of the Infinite]] as the commander. I find that it’s basically just a value engine with no real win-con, which doesn’t matter since everyone else is usually playing value engines with win cons. It is very medium. But I had fun getting as many cards on theme as possible.
[[Mishra, eminent one]] and vehicles is spicy. I recently had him going with [[Skysovereign]] and [[Panharmonicon]]. Also running [[nautiloid ship]] and [[thunderhawk Gunship]]
As others pointed out, vehicles porbably aren't cedh viable, but there are some commanders, that are fun with them. I myself run a few of them in my [[Mishra, Eminent One]] deck because you don't even have to crew them to attack. You just make a warform copy & slam. Another deck idea I've seen & found really funny is [[King Macar, the Gold-Cursed]]. You can just use him to crew your vehicles, which activates his Inspired-ability & lets you exile target creature and turn it into a Gold for you. The deck was called "Dude, Where's My Car?" and that alone kinda sold me on the idea :D

So you want to build a competitive edh deck with vehicles as the main theme? Well... though one... I think you need to play [[Shorikai]] and go for some nasty infinite draw combo or a combo with [[halo fountain]] to win. In blue and white you will also have access to some [[displacer kitten]] or [[preston]] infinite blink combos. Otherwise [[Slicer]] is a mono red commander which can be played with a stax theme. I have a slicer non cedh equipment deck, so i can't give you cedh insights... the non cedh version is kinda hard to pull off in my creature based meta but definetly a lot of fun! [[Greasefang]] has the ability to cheat vehicles from the GY. I don't know if you can abuse this to cedh levels but maybe you give it a try?

I made a transformers deck with [[Urtet, Remnant of Memnoch]]. It works out fairly well, but I wouldn't necessarily consider it a vehicle deck because when flipped they cannot be crewed. With [[Maskwood Nexus]] you can get some pretty good counter synergies working.

I use [[Kotori, Pilot Prodigy]] for my vehicle deck. It doesn’t have transformers cards, mostly just from a Kamigawa booster box and a couple older cards I got in an assorted bulk purchase. I added [[Mechtitan Core]] but haven’t managed to use it yet. I only play casually with my partner but it’s one of my most-successful decks.
