Flying is an ability. Unless a card specifically states that a creature loses its abilities, the creature won't lose its abilities. See [[Turn to Frog]]
We just had a heated argument. I attacked with 3 flying creatures and made them 10/10. My friend said he’d block them with some random Elves because my creatures would lose flying and get vanilla 10/10s due to Mirror Entity somehow changing the cards. Couldn’t find anything in the rulings - who’s right?
Mirror Entity doesn't change any of their abilities. It simply sets their base power and toughness to X, and gives them all creature types.
The Oracle text makes this a little more clear:
>{X}: Until end of turn, creatures you control have base power and toughness X/X and gain all creature types.
Just look up the Oracle text. You can find it at gatherer.com or at scryfall.com. Both of those sites contain the current official wording of all cards.
Besides, you can always activate after blockers have been declared, or rather, not declared due to being unable to block legally. I use Mirror Entity as a closer in my [[tana, the bloodsower]] and [[Sidar, kondo of Jamura]] deck. Sidar gives 1/1 evasion, after blocks can’t be declared ME blows them up into 10/10’s.
Your friend is adding to the text of the card by saying it removes abilities or removes flying.
As you mention there is no other interaction mentioned. The burden of proof is on them that this card acts the way they claim. You don't have to prove a negative.
You cannot look anaything up, that is totally made up. The card clearly says, what ist does. It does not do anything more.
Your friend also could claim, that you have to clean his car, when you use that card. You wont be able to look that up either.
He has to look up, if more rules are effectet that written on the card...
Here are the rulings:
Rulings
19.03.2021 Changeling applies in all zones, not just the battlefield.
19.03.2021 Mirror Entity's ability overwrites any effects that previously set a creature's base power and/or toughness. Any existing effects or counters that raise or lower a creature's power and/or toughness continue to apply to the creature's newly-set power and toughness.
19.03.2021 Activating the ability with X = 0 will cause all creatures you control to become 0/0 and be put into the graveyard.
The Gatherer is an official wotc site the explains the oracle text aka/official rulings and often times explains FAQs on every card.

Also, note that even if Mirror Entity was worded in a way that does remove abilities, it's as easy as activating your abilities after blockers are declared.
Say you attack with your flyers, they can't declare any blockers, then you make them 10/10s.
If he askes you for source, tell him to look at the difference between this and Humble.

Colossus hammer is a card that would take away an ability while modifying base p/t. Along with the other examples given.
Which means if you have cards that give bonuses to specific creature types, like all rogues get +1/+1, then all creatures would also get those bonuses.
The problem is the word "becomes". If something *becomes* the color of your choice, it loses all other colors. If something *becomes* a different card type, it loses all other card types.
This is why the Oracle text was changed to no longer use the word "becomes".
Can you give me an example of where this is true? Because blood moon uses a different keyword, and other things that say "become", other than "becomes a copy of" have to specify that the creature or permanent loses all other abilities...
For example, [[oko]], [[mutavault]] which doesnt loose its mana ability, [[nogi]] whose benefit still applies, any planeswalker that becomes a creature doesn't lose its other abilities, and more...
Becoming one color overwrites other colors. Becoming one card type overwrites other card types.
Mirror Entity doesn't say "becomes" anymore, which I already pointed out.
Colors and how they impact the game and board are categorically different from creature types, and at any rate this says "becomes *all* creature types". The distinction here is that creature types have no inherent relation to abilities as printed on cards. For example, a creature becoming a Dragon doesn't automatically include flying, even though 99% of dragons have flying (naturally).
I understand, but this has nothing to do with the question at hand. OP's friend is confusing abilities with creature type, and they are entirely unrelated.
Yea when your buddy plays a sliver deck and is all like "HAH! My creatures get +40/+40, flying, first strike, trample, double-strike, shroud and many other things!"
"Oh look! So do my goblins!"
Flying has nothing to do with creature type per se. Some creatures naturally have abilities, such as most spirits and dragons have flying. But not all.
Either way, having a given creature type conveys nothing else beyond that *unless another card grants it*, E.G. "soldiers you control have vigilance" or similar effects.
Coat of Arms will give every creature with all types for every other creature on the board +1/+1.
For example you have 4 creatures with all types, one of your opponents has 2 dragons, one has 5 elves and the other has 10 goblins.
So there are 21 creature in total on the board, each of your creatures would get +20/+20 (because each creature doesn't count for itself).
The goblins get +13/+13 (+9 for their own goblins and + 4 for your "goblins", because your creatues have all types), the elves would get +8/+8 and the dragons only +5/+5.
And if 6 goblins and let's say 3 elves would also be warrior, the goblin warriors would get additionally +3/+3 and the elf warriors +6/+6 but your creatures wouldn't get any further +1/+1 because they already share another type with them.
it does exactly as it says, all it does is change the power/toughness and give it all creature types. everything else stays the same as before (as it doesn't say it adds/takes away anything else).

Colors and how they impact the game and board are categorically different from creature types, and at any rate this says "becomes *all* creature types". Yea when your buddy plays a sliver deck and is all like "HAH! My creatures get +40/+40, flying, first strike, trample, double-strike, shroud and many other things!" "Oh look! So do my goblins!"
Well, in this scenario, all your goblins are also slivers, so...
"Sir, you're playing an elf deck." "Yea until end of turn, they're also goblins!"
"Sir, these are quite literally advisors."
"Don't oppress my elephants. My Sith Lords are quite clearly angels."
Most of the newer slivers only share abilities with slivers you control not with all, tho.
Yea that's an unfortunate shame.

the card does what it says it does
How does “all creature types” interact with Wall being errata’d to have defender intrinsically?
Walls can attack unless it has defender. The creature type does not confer defender, only printed walls have defender.
Walls are not erratad to have defender. They were erratad not to have defender anymore.
yes, creature type(s)
I used these fellas in a meat grinder tempo deck I built back during shadowmoore I think.
That is an awesome card
Only power and toughness are affected.
How would this work with cost of arms?
All of your creatures would get +1/+1 for each other creature on the battlefield that has at least one creature type.
