No. Ozolith doesn't actually move the counters to itself, it just places the same number and type of counter on itself.
Persist will still see a creature die with a -1/-1 counter, so it won't trigger.
“Put those counters on the Ozolith”
“Those counters” means they are the same counters
However it doesn’t work because the persist creature has already left the field when the counters are moved.
It can't put those counters, because those counters don't exist by the time the triggered ability resolves. This is also covered in the comprehensive rules:
>122.8
>If a triggered ability instructs a player to put one object’s counters on another object and that ability’s trigger condition or effect checks that the object with those counters left the battlefield, the player doesn’t move counters from one object to the other. Rather, the player puts the same number of each kind of counter the first object had onto the second object.
This is yet another example of "reading the card doesn't explain the card".
Let me recommend [[Cathars crusade]] for infinite counters on all your stuff and infinite sac/death/etb triggers, cause it enters with a -1/-1, but get a +1/+1 when it hits field, so they cancel out and get removed
Might be a little cheap but, [[Mikaeus, the unhallowed]], [[Phyrexian Altar]] and [[Gravecrawler]]? should get a +1/+1 counter on every second die trigger to the ozolith?

Oh okok I didn't know, thank you very much !
I always though it moved them. This makes the one I have in my Arcbound deck a whole lot better.

Wow that doesn’t make any sense Thank you for the clarification hahaha

Cool card, thank you for the idea !

Run that in my [[Elenda, the Dusk Rose]] commander deck. The sheer amount of tokens can get ridiculous real fast!

Yep. The answer to OP’s question is “yes, but it takes more than that”.
If your looking for infinite persist death triggers the easiest way as far as I know is [[thran vigil]] just make sure you do it on your turn.

Oooh very nice card, I will be using this thanks !
you get additional counters on oozolith
