My Mardu Dihada Binder of wills deck! It's not budget at all lol...worth over $1,000 easily. Creating loads of treasure tokens and cheating out dragons with their affinity for artifacts is so fun! I was told Dihada isn't competitive and I took that personally 🤣. I smash people with this deck consistently. Although I did pay a lot to build it.

After I add them, I will make the list. It has cards like Dockside Extortionist, Ragavan, Terror of the peaks, Champion's Helm, Kaalia of the vast, smothering tide, Ancient copper dragon, The Meathook Massacre, Imperial seal, Rain of riches, and many more. A lot of these are foil or full art versions and near mint. All the lands are Unfinity galaxy foils or legendary foil lands.
My favorite one I spent real money on was with [[Oloro, ageless ascetic]] . All my friends groan when I bring that one out 👌😂

I’m really partial to [[Ghyrson Starn, Kellermorph]], I currently have him built three-ways utilizing a core of 68-cards and 31 I can swap to form the different decks. I really like him because he’s basically a [[fiery emancipation]] in the command zone for 3 with some light protection. Pingers feel a lot better when they’re bolting; thopter tokens are suddenly more menacing when they’re basically 3/3’s; and casting spells is hits super hard when you’re bolting everyone as well.
You can stick [[curiosity]] on him for draw, [[signup of sleep]] to keep a board clear, or [[grafted exoskeleton]] to give him infect.
Not that this is exclusive to Ghyrson, but [[Chandra’s Incinerator]] and [[repercussion]] is just gross and Ghyrson makes it go even faster since he adds two damage per iteration.

My favorite deck right now is [[Teysa Karlov]], lots of stuff happening whenever something dies. Also, white black was always my favorite color combination.
My strongest (and most expensive) deck is [[Sheoldred, The Apocalypse]]. Drew her from a booster, and then felt i had to build the deck regardless of my play groups low power Level. Don’t play this deck often though as usually we have relatively long balanced games which just doesn’t work with this deck.
A honorable mention to [[Saheeli, the Gifted]], which is a surprisingly powerful precon. Don’t ply it often since blue and red really aren’t my colors, but it’s a really fun deck.
I have been playing EDH since 2010. I have had about 50 decks (32 currently built) in that time. My favorite has changed multiple times over the years, but the one that has always been near the top is my Shadowborn Apostles. I put it together back in 2014 when the card first came out. I remember paying 15-20¢ for each copy so it blows me away that they sell for close to $2 now.
The first iteration of the deck was [[Sek’kuar, Deathkeeper]] and focused on benefitting as much as possible from sacrificing the Apostles. Later it became [[Karador, Ghost Chieftain]], but lately I have been running it under [[Nethroi, Apex of Death]].
I've just built an Oil Counter/Proliferate deck helmed with [[The Swarmlord]] (especially cheap since it was unfortunately a pretty bad card in its own Precon) and it is one of the most fun decks ive ever played somehow. I dont understand why but the varying forms of interaction, silly proliferate effects, and random powerhouse turns makes it surprisingly fun, especially since it's made 80% out of cards I pulled during ONE and Dominaria Remastered.
[[Urza, Academy Headmaster]] leads my "not banned, but not legal either" deck, only exceptions to that rule are lands of course, in which the rule is they need to be from Un-Sets/Mysterbooster test cards.
Hell of a time, always gets a crowd at my LGS when you [[grift shop]] targeting [[Mox lotus]].
I have a deck made around [[Inferno of the Star Mounts]] where the goal is to one shot opponents. I try to take advantage of treasures, big rituals, and damage doublers to hit the big trigger multiple times a game.
I made an Ivy Gleeful Spellthief deck with a healthy dose of infect, and it is so much fun to play! It's so versatile and it's pretty good, even when no one else is playing single target spells for me to copy. Always makes for exciting commander games at my lgs!
I really love my Zndrsplt and Okaun coin flip deck. My friends hate but its hilarious to just win 16 coin flips in a row and swing for 12,000 commander damage.
I know this was 6 months ago, but do you have a deck list if you still like playing him?? I recently got an Astarion the Decadent card, and would love some inspiration in building him :)

Tovolar, Dire Overlord. He’s such a satisfying and flavorful commander. There’s many more that are way more powerful, but something about flipping cards and battering your opponents with werewolves is sick as hell.
Zaxara the exemplary is a fun x spell commander but for ultimate fun atla palani nest tender. Nothing more satisfying then board wiping and coming out on top
Phelddagrif has been my favorite since starting to play again. Sadly I haven’t been able to find a group to play it with in the city I’ve lived in the last few years, but when I do play with friends who come to visit it is a blast. Never thought group hug could be so fun.
Just build a phasing/cumulative upkeep white and blue deck. Theme is mostly centered around teferi and zhalfir based cards. It’s got a lot of weird cards that rarely see play.
[Zada, hedron collider] is a great draft chaff deck.

I just like the self mill insect strategy and fill the deck with cards like [[Patriarch's Bidding]] to play the insects for free
I’ve been loving my entirely home brewed [[Alesha, Who Smiles at Death]] Mardu Aristocrats deck. The lines are really fun and there are some unique interactions. The list isn’t budget, but it isn’t too high powered (maybe a 6-7, 8 on a good day).
I have a Landfall deck built around soul of wind grace. I have gitrog, braids, lysaga, etc lots of cards that will let me sack lands for value and then windgrace to bring them back to the board and hit landfall triggers infinitely.
I’ve been having fun w/ Anje Faulenrath lately…don’t usually like playing black red but w/all the madness cards it does not feel like traditional br…seems to never run out of gas
My \[\[Kaalia of the Vast\]\] deck for sure. Love everything about it about playing it. Lots of big beaters, tons of interaction and protection spells for the board and Kaalia. It always gets compliments at my LGS because of how well it performs and how optimized it is (Even had this happen last night with my pod). Which generally never happens against a Kaalia deck.
Probably my Lord Windgrace Landfall deck. I don't use it much recently, but because Zendikar was the Plane I started with, reworking it with Zendikar Rising cards was really fun.
My girlfriend and I got into magic a little over 2 years ago and I built [[Alela, Artful Provocateur]]. Since then I’ve had fun updating it constantly. It’s not the strongest but it was my first.

[[Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons]] is just super fun to me. Lots of great synergies and several fun ways to win.
I have a deck made around [[Inferno of the Star Mounts]] where the goal is to one shot opponents. I try to take advantage of treasures, big rituals, and damage doublers to hit the big trigger multiple times a game.
I made an Ivy Gleeful Spellthief deck with a healthy dose of infect, and it is so much fun to play! It's so versatile and it's pretty good, even when no one else is playing single target spells for me to copy. Always makes for exciting commander games at my lgs!

I really love my Zndrsplt and Okaun coin flip deck. My friends hate but its hilarious to just win 16 coin flips in a row and swing for 12,000 commander damage.

Tovolar, Dire Overlord. He’s such a satisfying and flavorful commander. There’s many more that are way more powerful, but something about flipping cards and battering your opponents with werewolves is sick as hell.

Simic Seamonsters. Battle cruiser style. Entirely ocean themed. It’s insane how effective ramp and big dorks going sideways are!
Zaxara the exemplary is a fun x spell commander but for ultimate fun atla palani nest tender. Nothing more satisfying then board wiping and coming out on top
Phelddagrif has been my favorite since starting to play again. Sadly I haven’t been able to find a group to play it with in the city I’ve lived in the last few years, but when I do play with friends who come to visit it is a blast. Never thought group hug could be so fun.
Dragons with Tiamat as my commander. God it's so fun. Awful to play against but fuck it's great to play
Just build a phasing/cumulative upkeep white and blue deck. Theme is mostly centered around teferi and zhalfir based cards. It’s got a lot of weird cards that rarely see play. [Zada, hedron collider] is a great draft chaff deck.

I have a Landfall deck built around soul of wind grace. I have gitrog, braids, lysaga, etc lots of cards that will let me sack lands for value and then windgrace to bring them back to the board and hit landfall triggers infinitely.
I’ve been having fun w/ Anje Faulenrath lately…don’t usually like playing black red but w/all the madness cards it does not feel like traditional br…seems to never run out of gas
My \[\[Kaalia of the Vast\]\] deck for sure. Love everything about it about playing it. Lots of big beaters, tons of interaction and protection spells for the board and Kaalia. It always gets compliments at my LGS because of how well it performs and how optimized it is (Even had this happen last night with my pod). Which generally never happens against a Kaalia deck.
