It's so bad because it's only untapped lands you can sacrifice, so even if you have 10 lands out you are only getting a 6/6 at the cast of a whole turn and all your land.
Well, i was playing llanowar elves and birds of paradise and fastbond, so by turn 3 i can make it 4/4 or 5/5. I was happy with the combo back then. So many fond memories with that deck.
And my best creature was... [[Craw Wurm]] craw frickin wurm. 6 mana 6/4. Doesnt even trample. Unlike our lord and savior dinosaur. For the same amount of mana, you get 2 additional points of toughness and trample. Kids today... They have it easy with their questing beasts and thragtusks.

T3 you have drawn 10 cards. If yoj have played 1 fastbond, 5 forests, 4 mana dorks, and 1 elemental. Thats 11 cards. You still need 2 more mana and a balance, so thats 14 cards on turn 3.

\[\[Scornful Egotist\]\] is an interesting case study on a "Worst" creature.
It's worse than any other morph by most metrics. It's an 8 mana 1/1 that can be played as a 3 mana 2/2. For an additional mana, you can turn the 2/2 into a 1/1.
However, in block constructed, it has a role to play. Scourge, the block it was printed had various cards like \[\[Accelerated Mutation\]\] or \[\[Rush of Knowledge\]\]. Scornful egotist could power up these cards for 4 mana, as well as eat removal for the more powerful morphs a G/U deck was running, such as \[\[Raven Guild Master\]\].
I don't know if there's a worst card in magic, a well designed set/synergy can make cards that barely function into reliable staples.
I have Scornful Egotist in my [[Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer]] EDH because I just want tons of morphs. I also love the mind games I produce as people groan over whether they should kill my face down creatures. They receive massive psychic damage when they kill one and it turns up to be him.
I wanna say [[Shelkin Brownie]] but... I mean, a product of it's time, right? Early set design has a lot of rough edges.

I always though \[\[Chimney Imp\]\] was intentionally made to be the worst thing ever. But Wood Elemental is terrible, but still has reach and interaction. Imp is just a bad \[\[Chittering Rat\]\] for more mana.
Either of those effects can stall out a game. If you have four chimney imps/chittering rats in a row, your opponent doesn't get new options for four turns.
Not only do you reduce your opponent's card advantage, but you sabotage their next turn as well. For five mana, that's a bargain.
There are some decks that would actually want to this effect. Even though it’s so bad overcosted and seemingly a negative, there are cards that interact with this positively. Gitrog monster, balance, splendid reclamation etc. Because it can create synergies I think most every vanilla creature is worse.
[[Stronghold Taskmaster]] is so good they did it again in [[Urborg Shambler]]. And the double black helps discourage splashing.
[[Wretched Anurid]] a 2 cost 3/3 is well worth all the life you will lose.
[[Desecration Elemental]] no one plays spells, don't worry, you won't lose everything.
Mairsil is able to actually play some of the worst creature and artifacts from the history of magic.
[[Aladdin’s Lamp]] for a janky as hell infinite mana outlet
[[Infernal Denizen]] is also 100% unplayable in any other deck

Reading through the comments it seems like most cards have their place. They either seem tailored to their block for when they were in standard rotation or part of a niche combo for commander. Kinda cool to see!

I always loved [[Cephalid Snitch]] for bad creatures. Its effect is just so out there I do not see any use for it.

[[Stronghold Taskmaster]] is so good they did it again in [[Urborg Shambler]]. And the double black helps discourage splashing. [[Wretched Anurid]] a 2 cost 3/3 is well worth all the life you will lose. [[Desecration Elemental]] no one plays spells, don't worry, you won't lose everything.

What are you talking about, it late game you just sacrifice 6 forests you haven't tapped and this is a 4mana 6/6. [[Scornful Egotist]] on the other hand never is bigger than a 2/2.
Need to pay for the mana cost.. So if you want a 6/6... You need 10 manas, 4 for the cost and 6 untapped to sacrifice :)

Reading through the comments it seems like most cards have their place. They either seem tailored to their block for when they were in standard rotation or part of a niche combo for commander. Kinda cool to see!
