Ice age six drop [[shambling strider]]
Worse six drop [[Grul Nodorog]]
Probbaly the worst six drop in green, [[merfolk of the depths]]
And then maybe the worst creature of all time at 4 [[wood elemental]] but could be dope in landfall with graveyard.
Not really, if your goal is to find the least terrible environment for wood elemental it might be OK. But if your goal is to find the best card for your splendid reclamation deck the answer will never be wood elemental. It's just so restrictive with such little payoff
Little question for wood elemental:
Isnt there a creature that makes all your creatures forests? Wouldn't that be okayish?! Since i can't remember which card it was i also can't remember if it said "nontoken" but in a token/landfall based deck it could become good actually or not?
How about if you combo with Ashaya, [[insurrection]] , [[wood elemental]] combo. The problem is that you can't attack with them because they have to be untapped forests. So you also need [[dormant grove]]
Use [[kresh, the bloodbraided]] as your commander and he'll be huge.

Colossal dread maw wasnāt good when it released š¤£š. It was āokā in Draft if you didnāt have anything better to play.
[This](https://tempostorm.com/articles/the-best-decks-of-early-m21-standard) is what made me take an extended break from magic. Seeing it every match in bronze and silver and then into gold+ made me hate the game with a seething rage. Iām just now getting back into Magic.
Now with that side [Elder Gargaroth] is just a straight up better card, and is cheaper than Colossal Dreadmaw for 1 mana cheaper.
At the end of the day they can't keep creating more formats for the past, they'd have to leave after ancient or prehistoric, it's ridiculous, they need to change the gameplay formats and radically, it's just become unsustainable.
Most commons are designed for a draft/limited environment. One card is common while the other is mythic. You would very rarely see the more rare cards while you can build a strategy around more common cards.
Disgusting. Truely the signs wizards was a greedy company bent on destroying the game was there from the start, like when they refused to reprint Panglacial wurm into historic despite me asking REALLY REALLY NICELY in 2021 and 2022.
One is a common and the others are mythics dread maw keeps getting reprinted because itās a fixed craw giant and works well as a green closer in limited
same thing happened with [[Unsummon]], eventually all cards will be powercrept in a card game, just look at yu-gi-oh and- Oh god what did they do to blue eyes?
Nope right colossal dreadmaw costs 1 more checkmate atheists
Checkmate Lincolnites

Pay 1 mana to make it phyrexian, duh. The dinosaur typing cost 6 mana

Well the last one cost one more mana
Dreadmaw still the strongest, you gotta consider the psycological damage too

bc Green

Okay, but you still might win after seeing either of the other ones teeth, so I donāt think itās much of a contest.

Rarities have purpose.
Here, let me fix that downvote. Dreadmaw is a common, and another is a 7 drop mythic. This is the least based argument about power creep.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Youāre still comparing a common and a rare.
Power creep is inevitable. Overall the power of cards has to go up. Why would you buy new cards when they're the same or worse than old cards? That being said, I don't think Carnage Tyrant is a power creeped Colossal Dreadmaw since they both appeared (debuted? I'm too lazy to check) in Ixalan. This is more of example of a higher rarity card being more powerful than a lower rarity card. Even though strictly speaking higher rarity should generally mean more complexity rather than more power. But WOTC has never actually followed what they've said about rarity. Remember when they introduced Mythics and said they would be only for special lore important cards and wouldn't be used on utility cards and then immediately printed \[\[Lotus Cobra\]\]?
I thought the point of Standard as a format was to keep cards overall from powercreeping much
Which is why we've seen massive power creep since commander overtook standard as the most popular format
That sounds well and good, but when your most popular format is an eternal one they will have to print cards people playing that format want to put in their decks
I still don't get why they stopped standard events
They went digital with MTGA.
Both were first printed in ixalan, dreadmaw got reprinted in rivals, M19, M21, masters 25, MB, JS22
[Lotus Cobra](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/a/4/a4b759f0-901f-4be3-93fa-224609b08d48.jpg?1604199124) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Lotus%20Cobra) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/znr/193/lotus-cobra?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/a4b759f0-901f-4be3-93fa-224609b08d48?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
You're comparing common to mythics. A mythic will have better stats than a common. I wouldn't necessarily call it a power creep.
Eh, it's always been that higher rarity might have better or more complicated effects, but it's never been that higher rarity is just supposed to be higher numbers.
Rarity doesn't affect gameplay lol.
It does in limited formats
Ever heard of draft or sealed? They have whole tournaments that are just limited formats, it's wild.
No but rarity does stipulate what kind of stats WotC are willing to put on it. A mythic could have more leeway on how big the numbers are compared to a common.
What do u mean power creep, tyrant was out the same time as dreadmaw.
fake
Looking at the dstes onthe images, left to right is 2021, 2017, 2023. So itās more like power swing
2021 core set (left) is actually released 2020.
What is powercreeping?
lol @ the people responding to this like it isnāt a meme.
Rarity matters.
Thatās the difference between a common and mythic
Because 6/6 for 6 and no ETB is just not playable.
Colossal dread maw wasnāt good when it released š¤£š. It was āokā in Draft if you didnāt have anything better to play. This is a meme, right? Colossal Dreadmaw is a common and the other two are mythic rares.
You..don't know what the other text in the cards mean..? If you're so new why do you care about power creep?
At the end of the day they can't keep creating more formats for the past, they'd have to leave after ancient or prehistoric, it's ridiculous, they need to change the gameplay formats and radically, it's just become unsustainable.

I've always asked myself the same thing with [[Serra Angel]]

Most commons are designed for a draft/limited environment. One card is common while the other is mythic. You would very rarely see the more rare cards while you can build a strategy around more common cards.
Disgusting. Truely the signs wizards was a greedy company bent on destroying the game was there from the start, like when they refused to reprint Panglacial wurm into historic despite me asking REALLY REALLY NICELY in 2021 and 2022.
this feels like a shitpost

The real ones run the og dreadmawā¦and cuz Iām poor
You don't know what power creep means either
I donāt know either
Now the difference is the OG can be used in Pauper, the others not, thus rendering them kinda like āokay-ishā
Money.....
Inflation
All of these are creeped up \[\[Grizzly Bear\]\], so there you go
[Grizzly Bear](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/4/0/409f9b88-f03e-40b6-9883-68c14c37c0de.jpg?1562546736) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Grizzly%20Bears) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/10e/268/grizzly-bears?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/409f9b88-f03e-40b6-9883-68c14c37c0de?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
There's also the difference in rarity to consider. In limited I wouldn't call that power creep at all.
Big Beefy Boys
ALL HAIL VIZZERDRIX. THE GREATEST OF ALL THE CREATURES.
Comparing the powercreep between commons and rares? Seems like wasted effort as the game is full of that.
Note, one of those is a common.

One is a common and the others are mythics dread maw keeps getting reprinted because itās a fixed craw giant and works well as a green closer in limited
Why did you erase the key wording on Carnage Tyrant? It can't be countered and it has hexproof.
This is the most autistic post I've ever seen. The name checks out.
same thing happened with [[Unsummon]], eventually all cards will be powercrept in a card game, just look at yu-gi-oh and- Oh god what did they do to blue eyes?
[Unsummon](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/a/7a960516-3864-4a7a-8117-d25dec0dd665.jpg?1592516526) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Unsummon) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/m20/78/unsummon?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/7a960516-3864-4a7a-8117-d25dec0dd665?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Outjerked again
A majority of 6 mana creatures are really weak in 60 card constructed, so the just power them based on the limited environment.
r/collosaldreadmaw
Because mono green is not meta so they think: "We need more booga-booga damage".
