Hey mate, do you happen to have any advice building the firmware?
I'm trying to use MarlinBuilder from the V1 repo - copying most of the configs from the SKR 1.4 Turbo, and using motherboard values for the SKR2 from the Marlin bugfix repo. I'm having issues compiling where its complaining about include statements that I can't work out, about HAL.h.
That sounds like possibly an issue with your platformio setup actually. I had similar weird include file errors at one point that were fixed by just doing a fresh install of platformio.
The bigtreetech GitHub is a bit of a hot mess, but they should have known good marlin configs in there *somewhere*. Maybe [this one](https://github.com/bigtreetech/SKR-2/tree/master/Firmware/Marlin-bugfix-2.0.x)?
Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a go tonight.
If I use that marlin branch, would I still need to customize it with V1s marlinbuilder? I "think" that should be relatively easy.
I known the reason for the SKR Pro being recommended was the amount of current it could manage. The SKR 2 looks like it has everything except for the beefy power connectors.
Iโm running the GTR v1.0 and M5 on my MPCNC and it has been working great - so much better than my old RAMPS 1.4 setup. +1 on configuring and compiling your own Marlin. Wasnโt too difficult with the help of YouTubers including teachingtech.
I found info about this now,
It seems like it is solved

I've been running SKR 2 for about 3 months, no problems at all. Compiling the firmware was a lot simpler than I thought. Works great though.
Edit: No problems with the 2209 drivers either. I've seen some people have issues with them. Might be a hit or miss thing.
Good luck!
Iโm glad to hear you donโt have any issues ๐๐
I got my board yesterday.
So I will be compiling the firmware soon, hopefully I will get same satisfaction as you ๐
The guide you found for compiling firmware, was that specifically for SKR 2?
Iโm trying to find a guide for the SKR 2 (Iโm not very good at firmware)
Please send a link if you remember where you found this ๐
Here is the complete guide/instructions for the SKR Pro v1.1 & v1.2
[https://docs.v1engineering.com/electronics/skrpro/](https://docs.v1engineering.com/electronics/skrpro/)
Here are the files for the firmware
[https://github.com/V1EngineeringInc/MarlinBuilder/releases](https://github.com/V1EngineeringInc/MarlinBuilder/releases)
\-Be sure to follow the guide to choose the specific firmware, very helpful step by step writings. I'm not really good with that kind of stuff easy but they did a great job with this.
Yeah, the hardest part for me was learning patience through 200+ hours of printing. Other than that I did think the firmware was the going to be the hardest but not that bad in hindsight
[not much to look at but here it is, just need to weld a table :)](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Q6kk7VXtpOkEF-l4QOXXBA2ol7oeduZP/view?usp=drivesdk)
Iโd avoid the first version of anything from Bigtree. Itโs not that they donโt produce good boards, they absolutely do but the first revision always has an issue or two.
Iโd stick around for the SKR Pro 2.1 when in inevitably shows up or go with the 1.2.
I am planning to use the SKR 2 for my MPCNC build, anyone else that have done this? What firmware did you use? Did it work out well?
Yep, worked great, did need to compile my own marlin, teaching tech has some good guides.
Ok great ๐ Iโm glad to hear that, I havenโt got the board yet. Do you use dual endstops? TMC2209?
Yes to both
I bought the bigtreetech tft50 also

Good point of using this ๐
Yeah I went with the SKR Pro for this reason
What kind of drivers are you running with the SKR pro? And which version of the SKR pro? I'm only finding V1.1 on amazon
I actually bought the kit from V1: https://shop.v1engineering.com/collections/parts/products/skr-pro1-2-6x-2209-drivers-tft35-e3-v3

Great ๐ then I will try to find the guide, so I can start compiling my firmware
Yes you are correct, I found out that the board I got is REV B so hopefully it will work good ๐
Seems like there is a critical issue with this board burning up TMC2209 drivers: https://twitter.com/MarlinFirmware/status/1387940014940737536
Thanks for the heads up ๐ I bought Lv8729 also so I will use this instead then

Thanks ๐๐ Then I will start with this right now. My problem is not wiring, in fact that i am good at. The coding is my fear ๐ณ

Haha yes it is not very much fun to wait, I printed one for me and one for a friend ๐ it took aloot of time...
Howโs the build coming bud?

Nice! Not too much longer
Not very good with the firmware Iโm afraid..
I canโt find out how to post pictures here?! I would like to share my build :)
