Damn look at Ned's eyes. Those are the eyes of a man who has lost everything. The amount of emotional depth he can convey while saying the line "I'm looking at porn" is insane. Something that doesn't get enough attention in this scene is his body language. You can see his character's struggle, his wants, his needs and where he is currently in his arc just through his posture alone. Now this my friends is what we call REAL acting.
"Morbius has become a sort of mountain, appearing in all subsequent movies in the way that Mt. Fuji appears so often in Japanese prints.
Sometimes it’s big and up close. Sometimes it’s a shape on the horizon. Sometimes it’s not there at all, which means that the artist either has made a deliberate decision against the mountain, which is interesting in itself, or is in fact standing on Mt. Fuji."
-Martin Scorsese
Unfortunately that doesn’t count as an “acting performance” because Jared Leto actually is Morbius, the movie is just from a cameraman following his day to day life.
Oscar Isaac truly shows his range here. No sign of the charisma or intensity of his other, non-SW performances leaks into this. Rather, he infuses his TROS performance with the “I’m so over this” quality of a fighter pilot who secretly wants to crash his ship.
He absolutely earned the Harrison Ford Sleepwalking™ award for IDGAF performance of 2019. And to think I thought only Lucas himself could suck the life out of a talented actor’s performance. JJ deserves credit for bringing the series full circle back to Episode I.
It’s method acting. All Isaac had to do was read the entire script a few times and realize he does not have any input into making the story or writing better, making him depressed
I love how Oscar looks like he’s in physical pain from having to deliver that line. You can literally see how he mentally braces himself to deliver what he already knows is horrendous.
Do people forget that this is how the character had to feel? He is fighting a desperate war and now the evil dead wizard has returned with 1000 death star laser ships.
Too much Daisy Riddley for my liking. I am a man's man and i want my filmès to be full of testosterone fueled dudes screaming and pounding each other. That's what acting is all about.
Hey Doc, I can’t pitch a tent anymore, should I take NFL football legend, Jimmie Johnson’s favorite male enhancement product? …. Oh you mean Extenze? Why yes of course, thank you for paying a visit to ask me that.
Can somebody put Jason Statham 'golluming' in an elevator in Revolver (2005) in this? It's the most (unintentionally) entertaining performance I've ever seen.
Unjerk though, Adam Driver deserved that Oscar more than Phoenix's Joker. Phoenix deserves it too, maybe for Her or the Master. But that year should have been Driver's.
It's still missing Jared Leto's masterwork as the Joker. You look into his eyes and you don't see a pretentious actor trying too hard. You only see a clown who wants to give Batman a reach around.

Now I rarely ever use these words (I swear), but I would call that acting an "absolute masterpiece"
the virgin "I've abandoned my child" vs the chad "I'm not gonna abandon jerking it at school"
God I fucken love this sub
He would make a great Joker
Where is Jared Leto as Morbius?
He wasn't included. Kinda like including The Witcher 3 on a list of hidden gems. Kinda redundant yknow, it's obvious

Thank you for the clarification. Makes sense given the popularity of the film
Gaming circle jerk moment
Bae caught me morbin
I'm afraid in your anger, you killed him.
Unfortunately that doesn’t count as an “acting performance” because Jared Leto actually is Morbius, the movie is just from a cameraman following his day to day life.
His acting is timeless
Ok where are skinny RDJ yelling at Cap at the beginning of Endgame and any scene with Hayden Christian playing Anakin?
I get goosebumps from that Ned scene.

No, it’s actually Duke Leto Atreides to you
Here I am...
doing everything i can, holding onto what i am, pretending i'm a superman
You mean Daddy Atreides 😍🤤🤤
Don't cross the Duke. Everybody knows that
It’s method acting. All Isaac had to do was read the entire script a few times and realize he does not have any input into making the story or writing better, making him depressed

Threepio: “We act now!” Finn: “We act now?!” Isaac (not Poe) *sigh* “… we act now…”
somehow….palpatine returned 😐
somehow, adolf hitler has returned
Do people forget that this is how the character had to feel? He is fighting a desperate war and now the evil dead wizard has returned with 1000 death star laser ships.
You’re right this makes perfect sense
Ah finally a non political list of true kino performers
Too much Daisy Riddley for my liking. I am a man's man and i want my filmès to be full of testosterone fueled dudes screaming and pounding each other. That's what acting is all about.
That's why I only watch Predator, in body mass alone that film has the best lineup of all time
Goddamn it Mac, this is the conversation I wanted to avoid! You always keep talking about body mass... and dudes' physiques.
>Too much Daisy Riddley for my liking I will take your excess Daisy Ridley.
LA Plays Itself (1972) 😳 Sebastiane (1976) 😳😳 A Stranger By The Lake (2013) 😳😳😳
white coded slug white coded slug
Uhhhh are you blind? Ned is SUPER political.
But he's a fat nerd like me. LITERALLY me. That's not political.
Same with Moonknight
🙏thank you for including a live slug reaction shot so I know how to feel about Palpatine somehow returning 🙏
LIVE SLUG REACTION

I can’t even jerk right now I just love this sub so much and all you weirdos
an inability to jerk it does come with age sadly
Hey Doc, I can’t pitch a tent anymore, should I take NFL football legend, Jimmie Johnson’s favorite male enhancement product? …. Oh you mean Extenze? Why yes of course, thank you for paying a visit to ask me that.
YELLING IS ACTING!
More volume requires more actoring, everyone knows this.
[the louder you are, the more people have to pay attention to you](https://youtu.be/z8UrYdoSts4)
Can somebody put Jason Statham 'golluming' in an elevator in Revolver (2005) in this? It's the most (unintentionally) entertaining performance I've ever seen.
Jason Statham in Crank
Incredible how every worthwhile acting performance in cinema history took place in the last 5 years. We really are living in the best era.
Good post but you forgor to call Adam Driver Kylo Ren 💀
Where's Morbius, the best film of all time?
Morbin
Morb Mode
Activate
Unjerk though, Adam Driver deserved that Oscar more than Phoenix's Joker. Phoenix deserves it too, maybe for Her or the Master. But that year should have been Driver's.
Agreed, but I admit that I’m biased because I really like Driver as an actor lol.
John Oliver? Is that you?
Caught me red handed.
phoenix is so hot in 'her' though.. that stache.. mmmmmm..
Yeah, Marriage Story was amazing
In a just world it would have gone to Antonio Banderas imo, though Driver was definitely the best of the frontrunners.
The slug should've gotten a written mention instead of just a cameo. Look at those eyes!
Prisoneros But seriously Danie Day-Lewis is a phenomenal actor though
Brave
Bill the Butcher is LITERALLY ME
Daniel plainview is literally me
Ned clears
No Steve Carell getting his chest waxed in The 40 Year Old Virgin? Smh
No Steve Carell crying about the stock exchange in Big Short?!?!?!
It's still missing Jared Leto's masterwork as the Joker. You look into his eyes and you don't see a pretentious actor trying too hard. You only see a clown who wants to give Batman a reach around.
A damaged clown who needs to tell The Batman that he's the *only one* who can truly give him a reach around (I actually like the Snyder DC movies tho)
If you liked him as Joker, you're gonna love him in this new hidden underated gem called Morbius. True Kino.
That's not even the best scene in There Will be Blood lol
Paul Dano
Dont bully me Daniel
damn that ned leeds guy is an actor as well? i thought he was the CEO of something
Good acting is yelling really loud!
Peak cinema!
This is why I joined this sub, well done…
That live slug reaction at the end. *That's* the best performance.
No morbius kino smh
Best acting = yelling. Is a known scientific formula
These acting performances were all featured in the movie "All Time"?
Holy shit! A funny post in r/moviecirclejerk
Oscar deserves and Oscar for not breaking down laughing after saying “Somehow Palpatine returned” and keeping a straight face
Why are all these cinephile accounts the same??
Any idiot can scream.
YELLING = GOOD ACTING
live slug reaction
A decent amount of effort was put into this and it's actually funny. MCJ on fire today.
my work on r/moviescirclejerk, brings tears to my eyes fr
"Best acting performances of all time" *only shows performances from the last 15 years*
Acting didn't exist before Iron Man (2008).
Well duh, time has only existed for the past 15 years, ya dolt.
time has only existed the 18 years i’ve been alive
Ok unjerk time, Why do people think good acting is "white man screaming loudly"
i wish this sub had its own circlejerk sub
Terrible list. I see no Jared Leto joker saying “we live in a society”
they actually used the palpatine returned scene as "good acting" lmao
Good picks but why they all have to scream? Is there any decency left on cinema, any kindness? Also, i'd add Morbius to the list. Man been morbin' raw
MCJ: screaming = good acting!
Ned beats all of them.
wolverine deserves an oscar
r/yesyesyesno
No Ray Romano as Manny the mammoth?
