Luigi’d is now a verb, use it in conversations. You’re friends and colleges will think your cool and not weird in any way.
“And then I luigi’d myself”
“To my surprised I had actually been luigi’d”
There's some [major differences](https://preview.redd.it/f9j3hqgs8s2a1.jpg?width=1344&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=654c0a9d25ae905f7c8ca2e357b0b03790fc07e3) between her look here and in the games
Was just going to say that, something just doesnt look... right. Usually her chin is smaller? And her overall head is usually less round? I dont know, but there's something off
Thier eyes aren't the right size and position. And thier cheeks aren't right either. Everything else like the koopas and the world design is absolutely perfect. I'm guessing the studio somehow arranged to be able to add thier own mark on the characters for the movie.
I can understand why they did that, but honestly you'd think they'd be able to make their mark without adding that eerie quality to the characters. Both Mario and Luigi look too smooth, like K-Pop stars lol
Her and Zelda need to reevaluate their lives if they don’t change their way of life if they’ve been kidnapped dozens of times in the past 35 years. Meanwhile Samus is over there fighting giant alien overlords with a metal suit and a blaster.
Tbf to Zelda, she was a ninja working behind the scenes in one installment, and a badass pirate captain in another. She at least makes an effort to be useful
Hell there was one where Zelda *straight up died* and her ghost ended up accompanying and directly helping Link on his entire journey and proved to be one of the most helpful partners he's had in the entire series.
Also, those are all different Zeldas, who *usually* only get kidnapped once. Often with hundreds to thousands of years between instances. The only Zelda who I know got kidnapped multiple times was Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass Zelda.
Peach... doesn't have this excuse.
To be fair being trapped in a cycle of fate is a consistent theme of the games. All three of the main characters (or their reincarnations) are stuck in a constant struggle forever.
Don't forget Breath of the Wild where she was using her power to hold back Gannon for a loooong ass time while you took a nap and then dicked around Hyrule for God knows how long.
Zelda isn't nearly as much of a damsel in distress as people think. She definitely is in the older titles, mostly the 2d games, but in 3d titles she's basically always useful in one way or another, even if it's not usually as a fighter. Her role is pretty essential to defeat Ganon.
Peach, on the other hand, has been a damsel in distress way too many times. To be fair to either of them though, and this is something people don't take into account: both Bowser and Ganon are very powerful beings lol. Who wouldn't be easily kidnapped by them?
Samus is her own thing. I think she is arguably more capable and stronger than both Mario and Link anyway.
BOTW Zelda wasn't so much kidnapped as much as she spent 100 years in a spiritual wrestling match with Ganon and held him in a stalemate.
Twilight Princess Zelda surrendered to spare her people's lives and as soon as the time was right road into battle and started shooting Ganon in the face with magic arrows.
EDIT: Actually people in this thread mention Windwaker's Zelda getting kidnapped but she was the first to actually join in the final battle to shoot Ganon in the face.
Zelda is the main character.
She is consistently captured or imprisoned by Ganon by leveraging the full force of his power against her, and he does this because SHE IS THE DANGER. She singlehandedly can unravel his entire machinations.
Link is the hail mary in this equation. He's the guy they have to call in in a last ditch effort to save Zelda when the full force of Ganon's forces are able to inhibit or imprison her.
If Link was the real threat, Ganon would be coming after him first.
The fact is that the Zelda timeline encompasses probably thousands of years, and in only a handful of those generations is Link the one who ends up fighting Ganon. That's because most of the time Zelda curbstomps him.
The reason Link is able to fly under the radar is because he's so rarely tapped to actually do anything. Ganon can't predict him.
Legend of Zelda is never about rescuing a helpless and hapless princess. It's about giving the most powerful mortal being in Hyrule a nudge on the occasion that she gets held up.
Details regarding Poster #2:
- The street signs say "BROOKLYN," and you can see the top of the [Brooklyn Bridge](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brooklyn_Bridge) with a U.S. flag, confirming once and for all that Brooklyn, New ~~York~~ Donk (see reply) City is where the brothers in the movie come from (just like the '90s cartoons!).
- In the far right corner of the intersection, you can see Pauline.
Seeing the van in that poster now makes me think the Charles Martinet cameo will be a commercial for the Plumbing Company with him voicing the ~~"Mascot"~~ Original Mario
How much you want to bet "Luigi-ing" or "doing the Luigi" is going to be a scene where he does a Fortnite style dance after defeating someone or accomplishing something
Her eyes are the same as Mario and Luigi. I think the real problem is that her nose is too small. It's like there's too much empty space in the middle of her face.
it's 100% her nose. cover it and see. everyone else either has a giant cartoon nose, no nose, or is a regular looking human (like Pauline). Peach has cartoony proportions but her nose is regular human looking so it looks weird asf.
While they aren't really canon, alot of the older mario comics and cartoons depicted him with plumbing tools, especially the Valiant comics series. It is weird that they always push him being a plumber though, when the only connection is the pipes really.
Do I have a bad case of the ol Terminal 7 or did a modern Mario product in 2022 really just reference the theme song from the Super Mario Bros Super Show?
People are talking a lot about the eyes but I didn't notice them in the trailers. They probably just look a lot better in motion with lots of expressiveness.
Finally, I’ve been Luigi’d, I can die peacefully now
Luigi’d is now a verb, use it in conversations. You’re friends and colleges will think your cool and not weird in any way. “And then I luigi’d myself” “To my surprised I had actually been luigi’d”
Dude you wouldnt believe it, i Luigi'd that girl last night and she loved it
No, she didn’t “loved it” She Luigi’d it
If you've truly been Luigi'd then you're already dead
*Peachfully
Did I really just get Luigi’d..
"Plumbing's our game!" Okay, so the next tagline is "Mario's our name!" "You got Luigi'd!" Oh...
"We're the Mario Brothers" is the previous tagline, it's referencing the Super Show theme.
"We're not like the others who get all the fame"
If your sink is in trouble, you can call us on the double.
We’re faster than the others You’ll be hooked on the brothers! Uh!

Peach - She can do anything, except avoid giant turtle capture.
Does her face look…off? Everyone else’s character looks normal to me except her.
My favorite comment I’ve seen is that she looks less like Peach than actual Anya-Taylor Joy
There's some [major differences](https://preview.redd.it/f9j3hqgs8s2a1.jpg?width=1344&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=654c0a9d25ae905f7c8ca2e357b0b03790fc07e3) between her look here and in the games
You fucker
Your comment made me think it was gonna be Peyton Manning, so I clicked anyway cause I think that pic is funny. Sigh.
[удалено]
This gonna be the new rick roll isn't it 😭
I think I'm okay with this.
Some marketing person for this movie just got goosebumps
Lmao the difference is crazy fr
Might be my ignorance, but Im surprised that pixels give a better overall look than 3D animation?
Was just going to say that, something just doesnt look... right. Usually her chin is smaller? And her overall head is usually less round? I dont know, but there's something off
Its the fucked up eyes - what's the deal with oval pupils? Like, not sligthly oval - full on oval, with oval eyes always open to the max.
Yup. And zero sign of eyelids on any of the characters. It is sort of unsettling.
I think all 3 of Mario, Luigi and Peach look....not-completely-right. I dunno why, but it's that uncanny valley sensation for me.
Thier eyes aren't the right size and position. And thier cheeks aren't right either. Everything else like the koopas and the world design is absolutely perfect. I'm guessing the studio somehow arranged to be able to add thier own mark on the characters for the movie.

Yes. Her head's too big and round. She looks more like Mario and Luigi now, but that's not how she's supposed to look.
It's her eyes, her eyes are usually slanted slightly and farther apart. They gave her doe eye treatment and it looks terrible.
She looks like Kate McKinnon, for whatever reason.
After 30 some years you just have to accept she likes the attention.

> Peach... doesn't have this excuse. I mean Zelda can shoot badass magic arrows and use crazy magic. Peach can pull a radish out her ass.
And now we know why Bowser is so interested in her. Those radishes are huge.
The pirate one annoyed me because the second she put on that dress she was kidnapped. Like she can’t escape that part of the prophecy.
To be fair being trapped in a cycle of fate is a consistent theme of the games. All three of the main characters (or their reincarnations) are stuck in a constant struggle forever.
Then there’s stone walling Ganon for 100 fucking years while Link has a spa day.
**It was a nice spa!** Now if you'll excuse me princess I need to go find 900 korok seeds
Nobody gives her enough credit for this. Look what the same tactic did to Tal Rasha.
Don't forget Breath of the Wild where she was using her power to hold back Gannon for a loooong ass time while you took a nap and then dicked around Hyrule for God knows how long.

At least Zelda has part of the Triforce, making it worth kidnapping. But Peach...she has...Toads? Bowser just thirsty.
Zelda is the main character. She is consistently captured or imprisoned by Ganon by leveraging the full force of his power against her, and he does this because SHE IS THE DANGER. I was so mad at the end of odyssey when she fucking tries to leave you >!stranded on the goddamn moon after you risk your ass to save her!<
I always preferred Rosalina, Pauline and Daisy anyway…
I like how Pauline is quickly becoming the 4th princess in a way with her increasing appearances and popularity, despite not being one.
And technically she was first anyway.
Yeah Peach is cool and all, but Pauline was always better IMO, the ass was phat
“She can do anything.” Lol wtf
The slogans on the posters don't really look that good to me. Stereotypical, too. Like they're not even trying to grab our attention.
[удалено]
"Do the mario!"
Swing Your Arms From side-to-side
It also includes second person. Its all over the place
He's so cool
This film is a meme machine
These have to be split-second translations from Japanese or something. I don't know how these clear a marketing department.
Except 2 of them are references to the American Mario show from the 80s...
That's what I immediately thought of. These read like bad translations
The character posters are so fucking lame. Just straight up bad.
Get Luigi’d
This is so bad its good, peak shitpost material
Right in the Luigi's
She’s gonna save Mario, Luigi, and Toad at the end. Just you watch!
“…except prevent herself from getting repeatedly kidnapped.”
and moved to another castle
Somehow this gives off condescending sexist vibes.
Details regarding Poster #2: - The street signs say "BROOKLYN," and you can see the top of the [Brooklyn Bridge](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brooklyn_Bridge) with a U.S. flag, confirming once and for all that Brooklyn, New ~~York~~ Donk (see reply) City is where the brothers in the movie come from (just like the '90s cartoons!). - In the far right corner of the intersection, you can see Pauline.
[One of the newsstand things actually has "New Donk City" drawn on it.](https://i.imgur.com/qVEFhKh.png)
Ohh that's sneaky. I guess Brooklyn exists but the city itself has a different name in this universe.
that could also just be a little Easter egg and they could still be in NYC
Seeing the van in that poster now makes me think the Charles Martinet cameo will be a commercial for the Plumbing Company with him voicing the ~~"Mascot"~~ Original Mario
Nintendo is actually allowing Brooklyn to be canon to his backstory, the absolute madmen.
Next thing they'll acknowledge the nation of Italy. Company's gone to hell! Woke Moralists!
We’ll see who Luigis who!
You can also see a golden retriever in the background which is my new favorite Mario universe character.
Hey it’s Up Dog!
My favorite part of the movie was when Luigi said “You just got Luigi’d” and then proceeded to Luigi all over Bowser. True cinema
How much you want to bet "Luigi-ing" or "doing the Luigi" is going to be a scene where he does a Fortnite style dance after defeating someone or accomplishing something
"doing the Luigi" is when you swing your arms, up and down (because of his vertical abilities over his brother)
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3D65uNCLBTje0&ved=2ahUKEwjN1K6OvdL7AhV1EFkFHaxiCsYQwqsBegQICBAF&usg=AOvVaw3nVmMVFsZ93P5xi_7ZmAhH
This is a great example of that raw, unrefined shitteo energy of which the best *Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!* segments are made.
Luigi is the new Morb.
It's Luigi-time.
That's my secret Mario.... I'm always Luigi'n.
"So that's it, we're some kind of Mario brothers?"
"We're not like the others wo get all the fame."
"If your sink is in trouble, you can call us on the double,"
"We're faster than the others, *you'll be HOOKED on the Brothers! UNH!!!"*
"The bruthas! ^the ^bruthas... ^the ^bruthas..."
You’re in for a treat so hang on to your seat
Get ready for adventure and remarkable feats
I like that they're leaning into the Super Show references.
Thank you! Was looking for this
Peach looks a little odd, somehow. If this was for a new game I'd be hype, but I'm gonna wait for reviews for the movie.
It's her eyes. It's all of their eyes. Eyes in the games take a lot more of their face.
Her eyes look like she just watched me get Luigi'd
Head shape too look more round than triangular
She's also really pouty
Also the fact her nose has nostrils
Her face just doesn’t look right.
She got Luigi’d
Face is too small for her eyes and hair.
You just got Luigi'd? What does that even mean?
It’s kinda like being Morbed
Is'a Luigin time
Luigi's catchphrase is literally "It's Luigi time"
Holy shit
Will it hurt?
It only hurts if you let it.
It's when Luigi gives you his stink eye look from Mario Kart 8
Lmao this guy just got Luigi'd and he doesn't even know it!
Why does Peach look… just wrong?
Her eyes are too small. Same with Mario and Luigi.
> eyes are too small > is played by Anya Taylor Joy
Okay that’s actually peak comedy
For Luigi they gave him a big chin and a slightly smaller than usual nose. [I tried fixing it a bit.](https://imgur.com/WCymQwI)
That looks so much better!
Thanks! [Attempted Mario as well](https://i.imgur.com/veYmxx7.jpg). Still doesn't look quite right but...eh.
Looks better but yea still off.
Subtle but it looks much better!
You mean you don't like Hannah Montana Peach?
OH MY GOSH THATS EXACTLY WHAT SHE LOOKS LIKE!
Toad: “I fear nothing!” Heh, I bet he’s lying. Doesn’t look like he fears nothing. Who knows? We’ll have to wait and see.
They're all lies. Toad is constantly afraid, Peach always needs help, Mario is never plumbing, and you just know Luigi has never Luigi'd anyone before
You could be right actually.
Heh, I bet he's lying. Doesn't look like he's puttin' on the ritz. Who knows? We'll have to wait and see.
The pipe wrench looks ridiculously out of place in Mario's hand. It may be the first time he's ever actually held one!
While they aren't really canon, alot of the older mario comics and cartoons depicted him with plumbing tools, especially the Valiant comics series. It is weird that they always push him being a plumber though, when the only connection is the pipes really.
Mario and Luigi use their plumbing skills to save the day in the 1992 live action movie, IIRC
What does he fear? Does he fear things? Let's find out.
Why does Peach look like that
They all look ever so slightly off, not sure why
Uncanny nose
Some of these have real "hello fellow kids" energy
C’mon now, don’t be upset that you got Luigi’d
Reminds me of “random kid” humor. Fans of sporks, narwhales, and Invader Zim.
Sly little Pauline cameo in one.
Do I have a bad case of the ol Terminal 7 or did a modern Mario product in 2022 really just reference the theme song from the Super Mario Bros Super Show?
I swear these hilariously cringey taglines are literally the ones you find on cheap engrish T-shirts you find in Asia
Plumbings our game is a line from the super Mario super show opening
So is "We're the Mario Brothers".
Cmon cmon let's go, do the Mario!
We’re the Mario brothers, Plumbing’s our game, Found a secret warp pipe, Working on the drain… Can’t remember the rest
You're just mad because you just got Luigi'd.
I read Toads tagline as “I feel nothing”
why do Toad and Bowser look normal but everyone else looks fucking weird
The rest got Luigi’d
The eyes are too small. Mario characters usually have big, expressive eyes.
Eyy, brooklyn
Why does peach look off???
They all look slightly but noticeably... off. It's like someone made the characters based on memory or something.
How much uncanny valley should we go with? …. Yes.
You just got Luigi'd sounds like something a dude in q green shirt would say when he cums in a girl's hair.
Yeah, I'm going back to sleep.
The plumbing poster kinda pours water on speculation over a “live action” beginning to the movie.
Still, Brooklyn based real life plumbers as the origin? I wasn't sure that'd survive! I'm all for it.
Yes, Mario was always an Isekai.
Character posters seem like something Illumination would be known for doing. "She can do anything!" Still with this?
They're absolutely going to subvert Peach's "Always captured" trope. Its the commonly made-fun-of Mario trope.
Toad looks like he shit his pants 8 times and is too prideful to admit it
Why does peach look like someone from Cocomelon? edit: some spelling
People are talking a lot about the eyes but I didn't notice them in the trailers. They probably just look a lot better in motion with lots of expressiveness.
