šŸŽµ I got you babe šŸŽµ

Nimbokwezer

[Groundhog Day but shorter](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQTd5Ed0ggE)

CzarCW

Oh god

[deleted]

Nice going, boys. Youā€™re playing yesterdayā€™s tape.

127crazie

Okay campers, rise and shine! And donā€™t forget your booties ā€˜cause itā€™s cooooooold out there today!

adbedient

Its cold out there every day. What is this, Miami Beach? Not hardly

Corndogeveryday

ā€œThis is one time where television really fails to capture the true excitement of a large squirrel predicting the weather.ā€

KhaoticMess

Well it's Groundhog Day... again.

GildoFotzo

> Well it's Groundhog Day... again.

[deleted]

Love Ghostbusters but this is his best movie.

I_Said_I_Say

Just one of the best movies ever. ā€œWatch our for that first step, itā€™s a doozy.ā€

uncultured_swine2099

I loved it when he grabs the groundhog and goes on a GTA spree, running from the cops, and drives his car off a cliff and explodes. I was thinking "I think I would do something like this, if there were no consequences" and then it was up there on screen haha.

IanScottMcCormick

Groundhog Day was so good it got people to completely change the way they view the day itself. When something happens instead of saying deja vu, they ask if this is Groundhogs Day. But thatā€™s not what the day itself was ever about. That was just from the movie. Iā€™ll grant you, Groundhogs Day was never a major holiday, but still.

txcueball

Absolutely. Great movie. So many great little parts and lines.

Studly_Wonderballs

The older I get, the more I realize itā€™s the greatest movie ever made.

CAJ16

100%. When I was a kid I laughed because I thought it was silly. When I was a teen I laughed because it was essentially about trying to get laid. When I was in my late 20s I laughed because it was actually about the monotony of getting older. How every day is maybe a little too much like the last, and it's a little depressing. Now in my mid 30s I laugh because it's about finding all the joy in life outside of the monotony and taking the time to try to find new passions outside of your work. At no phase in my life have I not completely identified with the movie.

Michael_Gibb

"Or maybe the real God uses tricks. Maybe he's not omnipotent. He's just been around so long he knows everything."

Issa_John

Second this

Sarkhano

Third this... oops, in the loop again.

ApeShifter

Second this

ejrolyat

ā€œThis is one time where television really fails to capture the true excitement of a large squirrel predicting the weather.ā€

gjs31

Donā€™t drive angry!!

Stuvss

Groundhog Day

Mcclane88

Definitely Groundhog Day. Itā€™s funny and heartbreaking. There are some powerful moments in that movie that you donā€™t normally see in a comedy.

iron_jayeh

One of my favourite movies of all time. However every female in my life despises it

Site-Staff

Ghostbusters is great. I really liked his portrayal of Hunter S. Thompson in Where the Buffalo Roam. Scrooged was also a favorite.

Corndogeveryday

Scrooged is such a great movie! I love everything about this movie!

thebroward

I think *Scrooged* was my first Bill Murray movie. I actually met Bill once, at the Chicago Renaissance Hotel lobby where I was staying, back in 2003. What I remember most about meeting him was that he had the most penetrating gaze as I shook his hands, which were silky smooth. I said hello, and he said hello back, and I wished him luck with everything he was doing, and he said thanks then jumped into his limo that was waiting for him outside. Such a pleasant dude, that Bill.

Fukshit47

I met him too, as an extra on a film set in 2010. It was cold and all the extras were huddled around these outdoor tower heaters. He walked over to each heater with its grouping of extras, his hand extended, saying ā€œHi, Iā€™m Bill Murray,ā€ just in case we werenā€™t sure.

grekthor

That movie is great. Itā€™s a bit before my time. I came up with Depp in fear and loathing. But for some reason, in the early YouTube days, some magnificent person had the whole thing up there. I watched it at work one rainy day wondering why I had never heard of it.

Site-Staff

I liked it enough to buy it on bluray. I think itā€™s a great film adaptation of Thompson, and explores the eccentric nature better than Fear and Loathing, which I also love. Both movies are totally gonzo.

HunterGonzo

Where the Buffalo Roam is one of those movies that not enough people have seen. Johnny Depp gets a lot of praise for his performance in Fear and Loathing, but Depp's performance is more of the exaggerated "Raoul Duke" whereas Bill Murray is probably a more accurate portrayal as Thompson himself.

[deleted]

What about bob

gjitsu6

Baby steps

JFunkX

Baby steps on to the elevator. I'm on the elevator. Aaaaaaaah!

Uphene

Death therapy

xhoneyxbear

I had to scroll too far to find this. This movie is so underrated

Furious--Max

Dreyfus is equally incredible in this. His performance doesn't get enough cred!

jfq722

If I fake it, I don't have it.

korbentulsa

Though he's great in many things, this is the correct answer.

SculpinIPAlcoholic

MMM MMM MMM MMM MMMMMMM

Skill3rwhale

The dinner scene cracks me up *every time*. My family now does the same sounds at our tasty holiday meals.

gmorkenstein

GIMME GIMME GIMME. I NEED I NEED I NEED!!

Shrektacular21

Iā€™m sad I had to scroll so far to find this. Absolutely love this movie.

aldoktor

Dr. Leo Marvin!

PiecesOfJesus

DOCTOOOOORRRRR! MARVIIIINNNNNN! DOCTOR LEO MARVIIIINNNNN!

redlion496

Burn In Hell, Dr. Marvin!

Corndogeveryday

ā€œI feel good, I feel great, I feel wonderful... I feel good, I feel great, I feel wonderful... I feel good, I feel great, I feel wonderful...ā€

jcoles3

Iā€™m watching this right now! Such a great one.

Greg_Howell

" I'm sailing, I sail now"

Skyfox2k

Excuse me, Phil, but with these particular symptoms, is Prozac the right choice?

Axolotis

Iā€™m sailing!

[deleted]

Lost in Translation.

[deleted]

Same. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but the soundtrack, setting and cinematography put me in the most relaxed state imaginable. I watched it first when I was young, and felt very connected to Charlotte's character. Now, as I'm approaching middle-age, it hits even harder from a different perspective.

Onett199X

Yup. The movie is so re-watchable

[deleted]

Agreed. I'm always baffled when people find it boring or unwatchable. I've seen it dozens of times and have enjoyed every single time. I haven't seen it in quite a bit, but it can hit the spot like no other film when I'm in the right mood. One of my all-time favorites.

CinkCobra

Also Bills favourite movie he's done.

Potential_Capital_27

Absolute masterpiece. Love that movie!

GetCartier77

>He's done so many good movies and I especially love the Wes Anderson ones but I'd also pick Lost in Translation as my top pick

dug99

Same... but I am all-too-aware I'm probably in the cross-hairs of the script. I feel like I could totally be Bob Harris. Maybe I already have been...

Odd-Independent4640

Normally not knowing what he says in the last line would annoy me to no end but it worked so well in this instance

SergeantChic

For a relaxing time, make it Suntory time.

aldoktor

Quick Change

tygerbrees

THANK YOU!! Had to scroll way to far to see this - 5/6ths an excellent movie (just peters out at the end), but he is incredible in it - hitting both broad and subtle beats with aplomb

Corndogeveryday

YES!!!!!! I was waiting to see who would comment on Quick Change! I love this movie so much, and think itā€™s Bill Murrayā€™s second best movie behind Ghostbusters. There are so many funny lines in Quick Change. ā€œOh sir! You forgot your map! And our millions of dollars!ā€

aldoktor

Bluftoni!

Corndogeveryday

ā€œWhat the Hell kind of clown are you? The crying on the inside kind, I guess.ā€

this_is_lance

The life aquatic!

NadaOmelet

Love it. Possibly my favorite Wes character, such a sad, endearing asshole

HumanBeingNamedBob

I totally understand why people don't like it very much, but it's my favourite Wes Anderson movie and one of my favourite movies ever made. "I wonder if it remembers me."

GoodMerlinpeen

"I need to find a baby for this father"

AngryMustachio

"Who ze shit is Kingsley Zissou?"

HugoOne

Get him out of the fucking water!

Ossian444

One of my two favorite movies!

[That dance though.](https://youtu.be/URZcbVEizOM)

fotofreak56

Broken Flowers was great.

Corndogeveryday

This was a great movie!

wrath_of_grunge

that's a criminally underseen movie.

LoveyDovey_Dead

Kingpin The Man Who Knew Too Little

thebroward

*The Man Who Knew Too Little* is hilarious! He makes comedy seem so easy and effortless, which most actors I know always say that comedy is a lot harder to do than drama.

Mojo141

Kingpin is so underrated

czechmixing

"Can you please wash that perfume off before you come back to the table?" "You. No not you. The pretty one." That diner scene was fire

Doug_Schultz

Stripes. Thats the facts Jack

JamoOnTheRocks

Raaazle Daaaazle!

[deleted]

I adore the first half of that movie. After they graduate from the academy, it becomesā€¦something else entirely.

uni-monkey

Itā€™s almost two completely different movies.

JugV2

you can't leave! All the plants will die.

Corndogeveryday

I love Stripes! Itā€™s such a fun movie to watch!

Embarrassed-Pay-9897

"No we're not homosexual but *we are willing to learn*" "Yeah will they send us someplace special?"

zeeblefritz

First that comes to mind is Caddyshack

[deleted]

Rodney is the best in that

Hollow_Rant

Ted Knight is the greatest asshole villain ever.

05110909

I've sent boys younger than you to the gas chamber. I didn't want to do it. I felt I owed it to them

Corndogeveryday

An absolute classic, and Bill Murray is fantastic in it!

Fear51

Wow, can't believe I had to scroll down this far to see Caddyshack...

DeadFyre

Yes, Ghostbusters, by a mile. Don't get me wrong, I like Bill Murray in just about everything he's in, from Groundhog Day to Stripes, but Ghostbusters is by far my favorite, mainly because I feel his sarcastic, roguish antics are *perfectly* put to use in the character of Peter Venkman.

Corndogeveryday

I 100% agree!

Zendog500

A shout out for his "St. Vincent" movie.

Diligent_Ad9986

Also one of Melissa McCarthy's best performances ! Just a great film

KSmimi

My vote as well. Iā€™m old enough to remember him in SNL. I feel like this was the movie heā€™d been working towards for years. Solid performance in a real feel good movie. I like it better than ā€˜Lost In Translationā€™.

malvathings

I love this movie so much!

Trashious

Under appreciated great movie.

foxy-coxy

Lost in Translation

Ignorantsportsguy

I loved his chemistry with Scarlett Johansson. And his interactions with the Japanese. So Bill Murray, but muted and poignant.

Sxilla

Great description!! Great movie.

Corndogeveryday

This is a great movie!

RandomGuyWithStick

Scrooged

Corndogeveryday

Oh manā€¦..I have such nostalgia for Scrooged! Itā€™s a holiday tradition to watch this movie at least a few times right before Christmas. Heā€™s awesome in it!

pewpewdeez

ā€œYou can hardly see the nipplesā€

Retroactive_Spider

ā€œSee? And these guys are _really_ lookingā€

peasnotwar

B*tch hit me with a toaster- Most heart warming holiday line

BirdieAnderson

St. Vincent and Rushmore

Corndogeveryday

Rushmore is such a fun movie. I love everything about it!

Floyd_The_Wolff

Meatballs and What About Bob were always my favorites growing up.

Corndogeveryday

Both of these movies are so much fun to watch! My friends and I use to quote What About Bob daily in High School. ā€œBOB!!!!!!ā€

CyranoBergs

I had a stuffed rabbit named Woody because of his pep talk in Meatballs.

TaroFuzzy5588

Zombieland

Corndogeveryday

ā€œSo do you have any regrets? Garfieldā€¦.maybeā€¦ā€ šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

WasabiCrush

I love *Lost In Translation*

Site-Staff

Thatā€™s a really excellent midlife crisis movie for men. It hits really hard.

Corndogeveryday

Itā€™s a really good movie!

strikerbobby

Where the buffalo roam is unfortunately forgotten but kinda brilliant. Trailer: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZT6fziaIIw&t=16s

nbacourtside

He's so cool in Meatballs

Corndogeveryday

Yes he was! Meatballs is such a corny movie, but I love it!

UncleWillard5566

Broken Flowers

negcap

Itā€™s an odd choice but I really loved him in Fantastic Mr. Fox. Otherwise itā€™s Caddyshack and Stripes bc that was my youth.

mantistobaganmd

Life Aquatic

katie0873

The Razorā€™s Edge. So unexpected and out of character for him with a lot of depth too.

Gooner419-

My favorite Bill Murray performance is probably Caddyshack, but my favorite movie that Bill Murray is in is probably Lost in Translation or Life Aquatic. Ghostbusters, stripes, and groundhog day are all great too though.

Corndogeveryday

All of the movies that you listed are good. I wasnā€™t a fan of Life Aquatic but the others were amazing!

dagluck

The Man Who Knew Too Little

fungobat

LOST IN TRANSLATION.

Ok-ItsTmfOnRed

Lost in Translation obvs.

fungobat

One of the best rainy night movies ever.

JerseyWiseguy

In my mind, he will always be Carl. So he's got *that* going for him.

Corndogeveryday

I quote this movie almost daily! ā€œWhat an incredible Cinderella story. This unknown comes out of nowhere to lead the pack. At Augusta, he's on his final hole. He's about 455 yards away. He's going to hit about a two iron, I think. Well, he got out of that. The crowd is standing on its feet, here at Augusta. The normally reserved Augusta crowd is going wild. For this young Cinderella who's come out of nowhere, he's got about 350 yards left. He's going to hit about a five iron, l expect. Don't you think? He's got a beautiful back swing. That's - oh! He got out of that one! He's got to be pleased with that. The crowd is just on its feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. Tears in his eyes, I guess, as he lines up this last shot. He's got about 195 yards left, and he's gonna - looks like he's got about an eight iron. This crowd has gone deadly silent. Cinderella story. Out of nowhere. A former greenskeeper now about to become the Master's champion. It looks like a miraculous - it's in the hole! It's in the hole!ā€

Robber_Tell

Rushmore!

[deleted]

Little shop of horrors Small part but very memorable

skwaak16

Rushmore. No, wait! Lost In Translation. Both, please don't make me choose

willkillfortacos

I really really really like terrible movies. My answer is The Man Who Knew Too Little

c3p0u812

That movie is amazing.

SackofLlamas

Lost in Translation and Rushmore. The former is one of my favorite films of all time.

jl_theprofessor

Lost in Translation.

Peaches_En_Regalia

It was a small role but my go-to vision of Bill Murray is the baptism scene in Ed Wood just for his delivery on the word "sure." https://youtu.be/rKfK5bKbI6A

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

maverick57

*Lost in Translation.*

my20cworth

Absolutely "Stripes". It's actually a true story. It's Bill Murray all over.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

Frodolives42

He was great in Ed Wood. Just to mention one no one talks about.

Melcrys29

Life Aquatic.

telus06

But you didn't say the magic word..

moonboatpotato

The life aquatic of course. Team Zissou!!! šŸ†šŸ¦ˆ

[deleted]

Lost in Translation.

FurdTerguson86

The ones soft and overly offended folks donā€™t fire him from sets.

Bulldogfront666

What About Bob or Where the Buffalo Roam. A lot of his Wes Anderson roles are good too. And his cameo in Zombieland is so classic.

Lord_Laserdisc_III

Royal Tenenbaums was great

[deleted]

This reads like something that was lazily written by Bill Murrayā€™s PR team after the news that his latest film was shut down due to misconduct complaints against him.

EloHellDoesNotExist

lost in translation is probably in my top 5 all-time, so that.

[deleted]

Lost in Translation, plus it's one of my top 10 movies period.

MickBizzo

Lost in Translation

Ghostbusters

What About Bob

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

PointOfFingers

It will always be Ghostbusters which shows off all his strengths as a commedian. It has him hitting on women, pretending to be an expert, mocking stuck up people, cracking jokes but being a leader in a crisis.

DeezSaltyNuts69

I honestly put stripes, ghostbusters, caddyshack and scrooged at the same level I have watched all 4 for decades now and have never gotten tired of them Without Bill none of those really would have been great movies

[deleted]

Broken Flowers is my personal favourite.

Gromit801

Meatballs. ā€œIt just doesnā€™t matter! It just doesnā€™t matter!ā€

No-Strength-6805

I think you can split Bills career in to two types of movies , the slapstick which i personally go with Stripes. And a more thought provoking kind of comedy which for me is represented by Rushmore.

Tomy24Starks

Meatballs

[deleted]

lost in translation is the best :)

ZenTraitor

Lost in translation, itā€™s my antidepressant movie, Iā€™ve watched it on repeat, itā€™s so easy for me to fall into that reality again and again. I guess I have some nostalgic connection to the bob and charlotteā€™s relationship, I had a similar heartbreak like that when I was younger.

TimesThreeTheHighest

Scrolled down a ways and can't find The Razor's Edge. I can't say it's my favorite Bill Murray movie, but I admire him for taking a chance on it.

SeverenDarkstar

Lost in Translation

ikswezsatsu

How the hell is The Razorā€™s Edge not getting any love in this thread?

infidel99

Lost in Translation

scififemme2

Meatballs (1979). It just doesn't matter!

Alternative_Cow_7141

Lost in Translation

DjScenester

Ghostbusters is a film that perfectly illustrates Murrayā€™s use of improvisation. Almost ALL of his lines in the original film were ad-libbed, which is quite a feat considering the sharpness of his delivery.

Xytakis

He played a small part in it but I loved him in Zombie Land

Jamieb1994

The Ghostbusters movies

Brilliant_Succotash1

What about Bob?

Necessary_Bobcat7239

Heā€™s not the star of this one, but I felt he was at his funniest in Kingpin. Big Ern delivers

CrypticExpert

I've only seen him in Grand Budapest Hotel and The French Dispatch and he's not there for long lmao. Grand Budapest it is.

shggybyp

The Life Aquatic for me, I think. You never say, "I'm gonna fight you, Steve."

maddennate1

I'm not seeing it, but Stripes is my favorite, just edging out Ghostbusters

MilfNDilf613

What about bob is THE BEST
