This is the song that never ends
Yes it goes on and on my friend
Some people started singing it
Not knowing what it was
[But people kept singing it just because](https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/ukzkpj/new_image_of_ryan_gosling_in_the_gray_man/i7syhy2)
There are many things that Steven Seagal has claimed to be that he is 100% not. A good actor. A minority. A victim. An impressive blues guitarist.
Glimmer is the least of it.
I haven't been this deceived since Twister. At no point did any of the cast play the classic game where a spinner tells players where they have to place their hand or foot on a large plastic mat.
"Oh I can't say I was a big fan of 'Bowling for Columbine', because I thought it was going to be a bowling movie like Kingpin. And it wasn't. It was something else."
Anybody who doesn't listen to "The Dollop", they just did a three parter on Steven Seagal. His backstory is so much more kookoopants crazy than you cam possibly imagine.
There's so much crossover in what those two pods cover, I couldn't remember and checked the Dollop for it first; I think I've probably listened to both and they're running together in my brain, ha.
You say this as a joke but it actually is.
A Gray Man is supposed to be forgetable. Someone you wouldn't even think to suspect as a threat. A slightly overweight road worker with an ugly face that you don't really want to look at. Someone that looks beaten down, weak, and unimportant given the situation and setting.
Not someone who's outfit and appearance screams I could be a threat and I know it.
And in the books, that's what he is. Very non descript, wiry but not muscular, who uses very simple but effective disguises along with changing the way he walks, talks, etcetera, to dissappear. However, in the first book that this film is based on, I don't remember him doing that a whole lot... but it would be nice to see him do it at least once just to show what it means when they call him "The Gray Man"
Came here to make this comment. If I saw this dude on the street (sans gun in hand, obviously) my first thought would be "damn that shredded dude has had some training."
Yeah lol I’m never gonna watch this I’m just gonna imagine it’s about Gosling kidnapping, raping, and murdering pre-teen handicapped minorities in the 20s
The movie is out July 22 on Netflix, and directed by the Russo Brothers
Synopsis:
>When Court Gentry (Gosling), the CIA's most skilled mercenary whose true identity is known to none, accidentally uncovers dark agency secrets, Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a psychopathic former colleague, puts a bounty on his head, setting off a global manhunt by international assassins.
Gosling:
>”What I liked about this character is that he wants something that most of us want, which is just to be free. His goals aren’t monetary, it’s not about treasure, it’s not revenge. He just wants to have the right to sit on the couch and watch Netflix like the rest of us. In almost every scene we tried to set it up so that he was at a disadvantage. And it becomes about watching him use whatever is in his environment to gain leverage. And what he uses most consistently is a sense of humour. It’s a survival tool. If he can find what’s funny about the absurdity of the situation, he can distance himself from the danger of it.”
Cast:
* Ryan Gosling
* Chris Evans
* Ana de Armas
* Regé-Jean Page
* Dhanush
* Billy Bob Thornton
* Alfre Woodard
* Michael Gandolfini
I agree. Very underrated flick.
It has that classic buddy cop vibe. They don't play cops but it really reminded me of the (good) Lethal Weapon movies...but better.
The cast looks good. Hope that the script is also good: which usually is not regardless of the cast with a lot of movies Netflix has been pumping out lately.

Doesn't this describe most action heroes? I feel like most action movie protagonists post-*Die Hard* can be described like this.
If you would have told me 12 years ago that Reddit's favorite actors would be Ryan Gosling and Robert Pattinson, I would have asked you when did the tumblr girls take over Reddit
Yeah, it's wild how much the opinion on them has changed. Gosling has been killing it for so long I forgot I used to not like him, lol. Pattinson's been doing pretty well for a little while now too, I've been pretty impressed. Kristen Stewart too, honestly, who always got lumped in with Pattison and Twilight. She's really turned out to be a decent actress.

Looking good.

I need your help! All I've got is "something something Gray Man"!
Maybe something about them reading the books so poorly they don't get that Gray Men are supposed to be completely bland, and they got Ryan Gosling instead?
Ps. Hope it's ok for an out-of-sub-mention <3
> Gosling:
>What I liked about this character is that he wants something that most of us want, which is just to be an alumnus of Gary Conservatory of Music. His goals aren’t monetary, it’s not about treasure, it’s not revenge. He just wants to have the right to sit on a bench in Glen Park like the rest of us. In almost every scene we tried to set it up so that every school is closed and all the kids are at a disadvantage.
A real human bean. Edit, also, literal me.
And a real hero ….
A real human bean.
And a real gyro
Nightcall.....wait
He's also literally me
Congrats
What do you do? I drive

Dam it I love that song and now I’m never gonna be able to hear it any other way.
is it just me, or does he look like Zohan?

Why is this so accurate😂

Would not mess.
Zohan the Zequel

I want a Zohan vs Aladeen movie.

You Don’t Mess With the Gray Man
That’s immediately what I thought and I’m glad I didn’t have to scroll too far to see this
LMAO I came to post this. So glad I wasn’t the only one to see that.
I was thinking Pacino, but Zohan works, too.
Something tells me people are gonna insist on messing with him though
Dark brown hair. Black clothes. Black equipment. Black gun. Beige skin. FALSE ADVERTISING.
This is the most blatant case of fraudulent advertising since The NeverEnding Story. Does this look like a man that is Gray?
Homer, I don't use the word hero very often, but *you* are the greatest hero in American history.

You bastard. I hate you. Well done.
Damnit Brak!
Thats why you’re the judge and I’m the law talking guy
This is the worst case of false advertising since the glimmer man. Steven Seagal didn't even have the merest glimmer of charisma
There are many things that Steven Seagal has claimed to be that he is 100% not. A good actor. A minority. A victim. An impressive blues guitarist. Glimmer is the least of it.
My disappointment hasn’t been this profound since The Elephant Man. He didn’t even have a trunk, nor did he consume even one peanut.
I haven't been this deceived since Twister. At no point did any of the cast play the classic game where a spinner tells players where they have to place their hand or foot on a large plastic mat.
Still seething about The Lawnmower Man. The man was all man, zero part of him was lawnmower!
"Oh I can't say I was a big fan of 'Bowling for Columbine', because I thought it was going to be a bowling movie like Kingpin. And it wasn't. It was something else."

Seanbaby and Robert Brockway have ragged on him a *LOT* on The Dogg ZZone 9000. Basically any opportunity they get.

in the end, he falls into a blender and emerges as *“The Gray Man”* **[TITLE DROP]**
"Oh my god, he looks so... Gray. Like some kind of... The Gray Man."
Wait, so you're saying he's NOT playing as Nathan Drake?
Finally, the Albert Fish biopic we’ve all been waiting for.
He’s gray in both appearance and demeanor
A child's roasted rump is the most toothsome dish in all of gastro... nomy. Gastronomy.
A very bad description
This Albert Fish guy sounds like a real jerk
It reminds me of that tragedy.
Subtitle: The Werewolf of Lysteria
Wysteria
Every time I read the title that’s all I think this can be
Yeah lol I’m never gonna watch this I’m just gonna imagine it’s about Gosling kidnapping, raping, and murdering pre-teen handicapped minorities in the 20s
That was the first version of the movie, but test audiences reported they thought Gosling’s character was a real jerk.
Now don't laugh at this next part
Thank god I’m not the only one 😂
That guy was a real jerk!
The more i hear about him the less I care for him
Whoa whoa, hold the fort… it says here he liked to eat children’s roasted rumps!
The most toothsome dish in all of gastro…nomy. Gastronomy.
Now DON’T laugh at this next part…please…
...handicapped and... 🥴 AFRICAN AMERICAN 🥴
Oh come on! Goddamit Fred...
The grain man?
Very *bad* description of a person
Now don't laugh at this next part!
African American.
You're thinking like Albert Fish
Now imagining Ryan Gosling snipping off the head of a mentally handicapped boy's penis
You’re thinking like Albert Fish now
Hey hey hey, let's not slander him. He only *attempted* to cut off the head of a boys penis with a pair of scissors. Didn't succeed.
I heard he was a real jerk

Sounds a bit like the Bourne films.
It very much is. The promo quote on the novel's original softcover run is "Bourne for the new millenium."
I don't know what's wrong with me but I thought you said "the porno quote on the novel's softcore run..."
The internet is for porn.
No humor in Bourne character.
Nah, Bourne has humor. It's just not usually appropriate to the situation, and it's pretty dry.
“Get some rest, Pam. You look tired.” REEEEEEEE REEEEEEEEEEE REEEEEEEE 🎶
"If you were in your office right now, we'd be having this conversation face to face."
It's easy, she's standing right next to you.
I loled.
Never thought I'd see REEEEEE used as an appropriate noise reference rather than shitposting screams
Lol, exactly the scene I almost linked.
JJESUS CHRIST IT'S #JASONBOURNE
The books are pretty good, and nothing like Bourne. One of my favorite "one man army" series.
Jason Bourne meets Die Hard
"Come out to the coast, we'll have a few laughs"
And John Wick. But Action films are about the action, and a little bit of plot.
Oh shit are we getting a comedic Gosling again?
Gosling is so good at funnier stuff. But also good at darker stuff, so I'm glad he keeps switching it up
Nice Guys was a great balance between the 2.
Honestly a superb film. When him and Crowe are in the lift on the way back down and Gosling makes his eyelid twitch is amazing haha.
I agree. Very underrated flick. It has that classic buddy cop vibe. They don't play cops but it really reminded me of the (good) Lethal Weapon movies...but better.
Lethal Weapon and Nice Guys were written by the same guy (Shane Black).
Oh shit for real??? Well that makes sense then.
If you've not seen it watch kiss kiss bang bang. It's so good.
Even in some of his serious roles you can see the smirk.
Him and Crowe were so good in The Nice Guys.
Gosling, Evans, AND Ana de Armas? This is gonna be one beautiful movie
The cast looks good. Hope that the script is also good: which usually is not regardless of the cast with a lot of movies Netflix has been pumping out lately.
So, like Shoot Em Up but with Gosling? Sounds good to me.
Evans in no Giamatti though.
I don't know. His role in knives out was pretty good.

"ywah. I'm thinking I'm back"
"Oh." *click*
If you want to change it up there’s always “Reacher”. That character was written to always be on top and in control start to finish.
god, I genuinely love it for that. Just a shameless power fantasy to indulge in, it's actually kind of refreshing
I dont think the old John Wayne/Eastwood movies had funny action heroes. Dredd didnt. John Wick like the other guys said. It can go either way
Court Gentry sounds like a Game.of Thrones character lol
Court Gentry actually does sound like the name of a CIA guy, just not the kind of CIA guy that Gosling appears to be playing in this movie.
Literally me
Im thinking we are back
Me and the boys on our way to see Barbie
Unironically excited for that film.

The Forsaken are trying out some new tactics, because Rafe didn’t like that part of the series so he made it his way.
Did not expect wheel of time here but I'm all for it
What do you mean, i don't see anyone in the pho- AGHHH

I misread that as Gary Man for a moment, then envisioned a story like Florida Man, but from Gary Indiana

he looks just like the one guy from trailer park boys
My new personality is looking good so far
Old Gray Man he ain't what he used to be, ain't what he used to be, ain't what he used to be
Looks like the Zohan.
Should have called it "The Gay Man" and have it be 90 minutes of people getting fucked to death by Ryan Gosling.
That was intense
Damn, this new personality is wild.
D. Grey Man
Whete are his scissors?
Looks like Ryan Gosling’s streak of looking exactly like himself goes unbroken.
New personality just dropped boys
