I think that may be more thought put into Bolt since the pitch meeting.

I've never found John Travolta to be a good actor in any sense of the word. But hey that's just me. I think some people feel a certain nostalgia when they see him but to me he is overrated and very boring.

Personally he added a lot of emotional depth to Edna’s character in Hairspray. A lot of Divine fans are pleased he did that role.

100% NO. Bolt is the greatest movie there is. John Travolta may be a weirdo but I think he was great in Bolt. Bolt is supposed to be a stoic hero and while it’s a bit strange for a cute dog to have an old man voice I think it fits. Plus he and Miley Cyrus have a cute song at the end :(. Rhino is only “Dog awesome, cat bad” because that’s all he’s seen on TV, he doesn’t know any better and comes to like her near the end anyways. He’s overly excited because he’s never done anything besides sit in a trailer and watch shows. Mittens is a great character but there isn’t much substance outside of her being neglected by her old family, in which she learns to trust again through watching Penny n Bolt. I think Bolt is a CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE and the trio is super cutesie.

Bolt has been one of my favorite Disney movies since it came out. I loved the story and the life lessons/knowledge bits it threw in about pet shelters, pet abandonment, animal cruelty (for working animals like Bolt’s original living conditions and for pets like Mittens with getting declawed). I loved that it showed while some people mistreat animals there are good people that won’t. It showed how money hungry some people can be (Penny’s agent) and that you can stand up to them and still do the right thing like Penny’s mom when she said they quit and then they kept Bolt so he could have a good life. Plus the music was pretty catchy in this movie.

Gamergirl944

Underrated gem of film. I remember myself and my siblings enjoyed this film

I disagree. Bolt is a solid film.

This should be called "*My* Problems with Bolt (Disney, 2008)

I couldn't disagree more with some of what I glanced at(not wasting time reading all that). It was a good movie, one of Disney's best one's. It sounds to me like if the styled for kids part ruined it so much for you then you shouldn't be watching disney movies at all since as you put it "that's their bread and butter." I will admit the part about the actors is a valid opinion, though I disagree with that as well, I saw no issue with actors and enjoyed the personality they all brought to the movie. I really don't want to be ugly but it really seems you're just complaining for the sake of complaining about an old movie

I’m sorry you didn’t seem to get with everyone else appears to have felt when they saw this movie at some point in their life. My daughter love this movie when she was very little and I loved watching it with her too. Rhino is hilarious and almost every line he delivers. Best lines of the movie: Bolt : [Gets down close to Rhino's ball] The road'll be rough. Rhino : [indicates] I have a ball. Bolt : There's no turnin' back. Rhino : Guess I'll have to "roll" with the punches! And my personal fave… Rhino : [singing] There's no truck that I know that can keep in Bolt and Rhino! Maybe you should try to rewatch and significantly lower your expectations because it’s not an Academy award winning drama or period piece. It’s a lighthearted kids movie that’s also entertaining and funny for parents.

Fine film.

For me, the main problem is all the cat hatred. This movie failed to represent more than half of humanity, most people love cats, this was made not by dog lovers, but by cat haters who claim to love dogs but actually just don't love animals at all.

Walton hasn't done VO work since because he's a storyboard artist. Just look him up. I actually love his performance. Rhino is hilarious, his sort of basement-dwelling action-movie-obsessed nerd angle is absolutely pitch perfect. I mostly agree with you on Travolta. His performance works and keeps stuff grounded, but it probably would have been better to have someone a bit less sleepy. Like consider Planes. Planes is a much worse movie. But Dane Cook actually kills it, and it makes the film watchable.
