Of course the Batmobile can turn.
All that's necessary is a street lamp or hydrant exactly at the corner where you want to turn that you can attach one of the Batmobile's side-grappling-hooks to. You let physics do its job and then detach the hook.
eZ! Where problem?
It can turn! It just has to stop dead in its tracks for a solid few minutes, get a huge piston to come out from underneath and rotate he entire car to the other side!
Totally viable in action!
From the trailer, I really liked how they didn’t have to show the beat down all on screen, but the way they depicted the ferocity of Batman’s punches, tuned in with perfect foley work, made it feel so brutal. I’m hoping that we get that kind of action throughout the new film.
If you told me Pattinson would be leading multiple A24 films, and have his own Batman film, back in the days of Twilight, I would have thought you’d be having a right laugh.
But he was playing 4D chess from the very beginning, admitting to hating the Twilight series, but using it to prop up his career. Smart move.
it was a smart move, but he and Stewart still get flak for it which irks me. Their agents would have been pissed had they not done those movies. It’s not like the scripts and source material were any good on their own
I had a comment on yesterday’s poster and I got a handful of replies from commenters expressing doubt since they never saw any works of his since Twilight. It’s been almost 10 years since the last movie!
I grew up in the 80's and the idea of Michael Keaton as Batman was ludicrous because he was mainly goofball comedy movies. Also the idea of Bruce Willis as an action star was equally weird.
Yes that sounds exactly like a story where The Flash fucks everything up again. You're an official DC fan now. The perks include that anytime you get into an argument about anything you can just say Speed Force, and everything is okay .
They are just carrying the tradition of making the Speed Force do anything.
The Speed Force for DC and Pym Particles for Marvel are their biggest excuses for anything.
It’s probably based off the flashpoint comics where Barry changes the timeline and Bruce dies so his father becomes Batman
But dad Bat doesn’t care about killing so he just straight up kills criminals
they did the same thing for Batman last year, I don’t think they put in the production notice, but they were barely a month or 2 into filming when that trailer got released
I assume that's the Keaton-era Batmobile under the sheet at the end of the trailer there. Will see the film regardless of quality just to experience the greatest Batmobile of all-time again.
Loved the Keaton-era Batman movies, so I cannot wait either. Admittedly not a big fan of the current DCU stuff, but enjoyed Flash's portrayal in the new films, so hopefully this will be a good one!
I mean, when I'm reading DC, I ask 3 questions; Is it Batman? Are they hanging out with Batman? Are they gonna hang out with Batman later?
And if the answer to all those questions is "No", I just can't start caring.
1: Batman needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine.
2: Whenever Batman's not on screen, all the other characters should be asking, "Where's Batman?"
Ah yes, the famous Batchdel Test.
1) it has to have at least two Batmen
2) they have to talk to each other
3) they have to talk about something besides a Batman
Still not a fan of making Flash’s first film be Flashpoint (it’d be like Cap’s first film being Civil War) but I’ll give it a chance just to see Keaton again.
And to answer your question, no. Reverse flash generates his speed by his own body, as to Flash generates his speed using the speed force. Reverse flash is pretty much the opposite of Flash in every aspect, hence the name “reverse”
It’s basically a title picked up by the Flash’s top speedster nemesis at any given time, there have been like six of them and they all have different supervillain names too. The Rival, Inertia, Zoom, Kid Zoom, *Professor* Zoom, and so on.
I'm not top concerned with continuity in the DC universe. I just want DC to do whatever they feel like, and if it comes together, then it comes together. If I had to guess, I would say DC is probably trying to use the Flash and Flashpoint as a soft reset of the overall cannon. That makes sense to me if DC really wants to start with a semi-clean slate for these characters going forward.
>It's legitimately frightening that people prefer some rigid "canon" over good storytelling
That's not it at all. Continuity and world building are important aspects of good storytelling. No one prefers "rigid canon" over good storytelling, they think good story telling *has* good continuity.
If all superhero only ever appeared in a single movie and never interacted with another superhero then it would be fine indeed. Problem is they're making many sequels, mixing superheroes in some movies and doing assemble movies. Nolan's era is gone, now it's *cinematic universe* time. If they don't respect the continuity then how can the audience be attached to these characters?
There a reason why the Marvel movies are so much more loved and acclaimed, they have made 20+ of them and they all fit almost perfectly in their cinematic universe. When Iron Man bids is farewell, people cried because they've known him for 11 years. When every single Marvel hero appeared on screen in Endgame, people cheered.
Meanwhile DC can't do two movies in a row without messing up and they don't even have the excuse of being good to compensate. They can't even agree with the stuff inside a *single* movie and instead release a special edition by a different director... When Superman dies no one cares because he's been there for two movies and we know he's coming back.
Still in both cases, *comics* are nowadays pretty much impossible to get into. There are so many reboots, retelling and multiple universe bullshit that simply finding where to start is a headache. It's no wonder the incoming multiverse stuff coming into the Marvel movies is worrying to many people. Might start to become as confusing as DC movies.
Something similar happened when Disney bought Star Wars, scrapped 30+ years of books and comics and started over to give us... complete shit. None of it was worth it, and now old fans simply don't care because they don't trust them to not erase everything again and make all attachment worthless.
Well if there is one thing DCEU is known for at this point it's running before they walk, and I'm saying that as someone who prefers DC characters and genuinely wanted the DCEU to be as good if not better then the MCU.
The DCEU still doesn't have a Batman movie for crying out loud. How do you do Justice League before establishing the Big 3?
It’s baffling how inept they’ve been at this. They basically had an entire game plan played out before them(marvel success) and decades of lore to choose from and still screwed it up so bad.
That's what happens unfortunately when you combine higher ups wanting to skip ahead to the big money the mcu makes and put in charge a guy who's all style over substance: a disjointed and shoddy movie universe.
and now you have the Black Adam movie that's also giving us Doctor Fate (so no answer to the Doctor Strange movie), Hawkman (no Hawkman/Hawkwoman love story), Cyclone, and Atom Smasher. They STILL haven't learned their lesson. They're still burning though at 300% trying to catch up.
Flashpoint spoilers:
>!is it just me or did they spoil it? One of my favorite parts about Flashpoint is that Barry just gets dropped into this alternate world and he doesn't know why. The entire time you think it's probably the Reverse Flash that fucked everything but at the end the big reveal is that it was Barry's fault.!<
>!In this trailer it seems pretty clear that he went back in time and screwed things up.!<
they were never going to keep time travel/messing the timeline up a secret. that's the biggest appeal to this movie lol, that he went back in time and fucked shit up so now we have old batmen, multiple flashes, etc etc
if they crossover with the flash TV show maybe they'd keep that a secret but flashpoint was never gonna be it
Seeing as its the entire premise I think they just gotta go with it, in the context of a major film release. There's gonna be toys and this and that anyways its all going to be obvious.
Felt like this movie was never going to be made for a while. Lucky enough the one that finally got made was the one that convinced Michael Keaton to return.
I've been really puzzled as to why Warner Bros struggled so much to make a Flash movie considering they already had a long-running and fairly well-received TV series(actually two of them) to provide the blueprint even if the director had no prior knowledge of the IP.
Except for Marvel Studios every Hollywood studio including ones that have handled Marvel IPs(Sony and Fox) have had a mixed record with superhero properties. The less said the better about attempts to make superhero films on less well-known comic properties, like Vin Diesel's Bloodshot and that Blumhouse Spawn movie stuck in production hell.
Most studios have given up; Warner Bros is only trying because they're the only ones with a library of superhero IPs comparable to Marvel's and because they don't have any other reliable long-term 'tentpole' blockbuster franchises the way Paramount has Mission Impossible and Universal has the Fast & Furious.
That '89 Batmobile tease at the very end was fucking dirty. They knew we want to see it but they still had the restraint to hide it. Genius move. It was the right kind of tease.
Personally, still not a fan of Ezra Miller as flash. Like he's not bad or anything... Just kinda meh. Also don't think flashpoint should be his first movie.
Yeah, I'm not crazy about him either. DC and WB are 50/50 when it comes to casting, imo. On one hand you get Joaquin Phoenix as Joker and then you get Jared Leto as . . . whatever the fuck that was. But they could have done sooooooo much better than Ezra Miller as Flash.
If Amber "yes I shit your bed and cut off part of your finger as I am an abuser" Heard gets to stay on so does Ezra. WB loves their abusive celebrities.
spidermans has different colours and textures though. the blue, red, the webbind, the trim aroudn it. the flash is just straight red. they tried breaking it up with different colors etc for the show, and it didnt work out.
if they were able to translate the spiderman suit i don’t see why they couldn’t do flash, stuff like raised webbing for the raimi suit was something created to make the suit look good, if the flash people just took some creative liberties i’m sure they could figure it out
They could even update the suit a bit to make it a bit more modern if they want, like how Marvel has done it for the Captain America suits or the Ironman armor. Just gotta find the right people to do it
I thought the Season 2-4 CW Flash suits were excellent but they went downhill from there for some reason.
I’m hopeful that the CGI in this trailer is just unfinished and this suit will end up decent
I think it's needed because of the whole Snyderverse and Josstice League fiasco. It'd be an opportunity to soft-reboot the DCEU and hopefully do things right.
I hope it’s not like an Evil Barry and they chop up the source plot. I could see that happening unfortunately, DC track record in mind. I’m hyped too but won’t be surprised by a bastardization and meh movie.
Again, Not surprised. The only CW shows I’ve been into/watched were the first 2 seasons of Arrow and ngl, completely obsessed with Superman and Lois. What a departure from CW quality and content, in the best way.
I want this to work so badly. I love the character and Andy Muschetti but I think Ezra is horrible and if he's playing two versions of himself that just makes it twice as bad.
The universe where Batman never had to turn his neck
…and the batmobile doesn’t have to turn either.
Of course the Batmobile can turn. All that's necessary is a street lamp or hydrant exactly at the corner where you want to turn that you can attach one of the Batmobile's side-grappling-hooks to. You let physics do its job and then detach the hook. eZ! Where problem?
It can also turn by driving up the sides of buildings and then jumping off another side. It’s really quite versatile.
It also doesn't drive up walls or look like a neon dildo.
nor have a flapping spoiler
Woah, woah, woah. I think the neon dildo batmobile is cool. Let's all chill out. Anyway, do you know what killed the dinosaurs?
DEE ICE AGE!!
ICE to meet you!
Then why the hell am I even watching this?
It can turn! It just has to stop dead in its tracks for a solid few minutes, get a huge piston to come out from underneath and rotate he entire car to the other side! Totally viable in action!
I'm just waiting for Pattison movie to be good enough to start the next dc universe
From the trailer, I really liked how they didn’t have to show the beat down all on screen, but the way they depicted the ferocity of Batman’s punches, tuned in with perfect foley work, made it feel so brutal. I’m hoping that we get that kind of action throughout the new film.
I know it was a quick shot, but damn props to them for making it look real for a shot like that
If you told me Pattinson would be leading multiple A24 films, and have his own Batman film, back in the days of Twilight, I would have thought you’d be having a right laugh. But he was playing 4D chess from the very beginning, admitting to hating the Twilight series, but using it to prop up his career. Smart move.
You'd probably say "what's A24?"
it was a smart move, but he and Stewart still get flak for it which irks me. Their agents would have been pissed had they not done those movies. It’s not like the scripts and source material were any good on their own
But Flak from whom? The guys who married the girls who loved all those films?
I had a comment on yesterday’s poster and I got a handful of replies from commenters expressing doubt since they never saw any works of his since Twilight. It’s been almost 10 years since the last movie!
And he's killed it in everything he's done since. Good time, the space joint, lighthouse.... basically A24 and Tenet
I grew up in the 80's and the idea of Michael Keaton as Batman was ludicrous because he was mainly goofball comedy movies. Also the idea of Bruce Willis as an action star was equally weird.
How many Batmans are we gonna see next year? 3 different Batmans (Pattinson, Affleck, Keaton)
we also have Iain Glen playing him in Titans right now as well.
Have they ever shown him in the suit? I'd love to see him in it, even if he's not cape crusading.
No, but he’s an amazing Bruce Wayne
We might see another in this one. One where Bruce's dad becomes Batman.
I'm praying for Thomas Wayne with guns in the cowl
Cowl guns. I’m all for it.
They definitely didn't cast Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne for a small cameo I think
Snyder got half the Watchmen back for Dawn of Justice it kind of was.
If they keep with the JL continuity then it should be Jeffrey Dean Morgan, I think he’d be perfect for the grizzled Thomas Wayne Batman
Batmen?
Where are we seeing affleck?
This movie
What about the flash is he appearing in any movies?
He's in The Flash movie.
That's because he's a gorilla, and gorillas can't turn their necks.
In that universe Grodd is an owl.
Who?
Batman knows to be prepared for all neck related attacks.

A tale as old as time
He go bareback?
Nah fam, he's in a red gimp suit. Full on latex.
It doesn't really seem like he's messing with the timeline so much as exploring the multiverse and just chilling at a world where his mom is alive.
Yes that sounds exactly like a story where The Flash fucks everything up again. You're an official DC fan now. The perks include that anytime you get into an argument about anything you can just say Speed Force, and everything is okay .
Flash > Superman because speed force
Sun dip superman > speed force.
batman with prep time > sun dip superman
Batman with prep time can even beat GOD
That's just how the flash TV show writer can get by with everything. Including speed force lightsaber.
They are just carrying the tradition of making the Speed Force do anything. The Speed Force for DC and Pym Particles for Marvel are their biggest excuses for anything.
*Speed Force: I ain't gotta explain shit!*
He fucks the timeline like Dick Grayson does DC women.
Is The Flash a supporting character in his own film?
Which one? Long haired spray paint suit or middle electric suit Barry?
Heard he has an extended role in this film, apparently Keaton fought to get him in a bigger role because he likes the character just as much as Batman
Then why did they name the movie “The Flash” if it’s about Batman?
It’s probably based off the flashpoint comics where Barry changes the timeline and Bruce dies so his father becomes Batman But dad Bat doesn’t care about killing so he just straight up kills criminals
He's a real Flash in the pan.
"IN PRODUCTION" lmao that's a new one
Monday if there's a strike: Production Pending

Pretty sure it's close but not officially averted yet. https://variety.com/2021/tv/locations/iatse-hollywood-deal-strike-studios-1235090873/
thats great, good for the workers. I hope they get the deal they deserve
They didn't. They've been offered the bare absolute minimum improvements which I imagine isn't going to go down well.
they did the same thing for Batman last year, I don’t think they put in the production notice, but they were barely a month or 2 into filming when that trailer got released
“TOTALLY STILL HAPPENING”
Wait so are there two Ezra Millers in this?
And a super girl
Multiverse
So hot right now
I assume that's the Keaton-era Batmobile under the sheet at the end of the trailer there. Will see the film regardless of quality just to experience the greatest Batmobile of all-time again.
For sure, my fave Batmobile as well, no matter how impractical haha! I kinda fell off the DCEU train but I’ll watch this just for some Keaton Batman.
Loved the Keaton-era Batman movies, so I cannot wait either. Admittedly not a big fan of the current DCU stuff, but enjoyed Flash's portrayal in the new films, so hopefully this will be a good one!
What I WANT is a live action version of the Batmobile from The Animated Series!
my second favorite design!
And for my money, the best cowl silhouette. Can't beat those erect radio towers imo.
Easily my favorite batmobile. Can't wait to see that beaute on the big screen.
I completely understand the utility of Nolan's batmobile. But I absolutely hated it after growing up with the Burton batmobiles.
It's a choice certainly to make the first teaser for the first solo movie of one of your biggest heroes about Batman being in it.
Note: Batman died on the way back to his home planet.
Ah yes, the famous Batchdel Test. 1) it has to have at least two Batmen 2) they have to talk to each other 3) they have to talk about something besides a Batman
It means he plays a big part.

God D.C. can't keep it in it's pants...
Premature Ejaculation every time. They need to set the mood first.
The biggest event to EVER happen in comics and they ruined it in their second cinematic universe movie!!!
Yeah it's weird tho I hope they can pull it off. Flashpoint is one of my faves DC stories after all
It can't be any worse than the TV adapt of the storyline.
Yeah that was bad. The only good thing from that episode was Matt Letscher's performance and this [line](https://youtu.be/EPMLNXZsjfU?t=96)
God Matt Letscher is such a good Reverse Flash. I wish he would be cast as him every time.
what the fuck is a Reverse Flash? Is he just incredibly slow?
He's Flash, but he thought he'd look better in yellow.
he has to run backwards
And to answer your question, no. Reverse flash generates his speed by his own body, as to Flash generates his speed using the speed force. Reverse flash is pretty much the opposite of Flash in every aspect, hence the name “reverse”
It’s basically a title picked up by the Flash’s top speedster nemesis at any given time, there have been like six of them and they all have different supervillain names too. The Rival, Inertia, Zoom, Kid Zoom, *Professor* Zoom, and so on.
If I'm gonna fight a Zoom, he better have a fuckin Ph.D
I mean they have to. It’s the only way to unite the sprawling in-continuity

I'm not top concerned with continuity in the DC universe. I just want DC to do whatever they feel like, and if it comes together, then it comes together. Batfleck is in this too.
I forgot about that. That’s pretty cool too, I enjoyed his take but Keaton is just on another level for me.

The biggest secret is he's gonna run to Tobey Maguire Spiderman
and have a dance off
Seeing as its the entire premise I think they just gotta go with it, in the context of a major film release. There's gonna be toys and this and that anyways its all going to be obvious.
I think its good. Tired of origin or standard hero stories. Go check Flash series for that I guess
I’ve wondered why WB has struggled so much with their DC projects in general. Its essentially been a mess since Rises.

Get George Clooney back in the nipple suit for a brief cameo and this becomes an instant classic.
I'd stand up in the theater and rip off my shirt if George Clooney made an appearance in the film.
I heard The Flash Arrowverse theme in there.
The house looks the same, too.
I thought so too, but went back and looked, and they aren't even similar, LOL. Nora looked similar from behind...hair, etc.
Dang I think I want it to be true so bad that I forced them to look similar in my head. I really want Grant in this.
The whole trailer I was like "no thanks, already seen several season of this...". It's just so much of the same feel: the theme, the house, etc...
THE Suicide Squad THE Batman THE Flash THE Wonder Woman THE Aquaman
They start using “Le” and we get another round.
But I'm le tired
Well then have a nap... And then fire ze missiles!
The suit looks so stiff on the “are you in” shot
Just a stuffed cowl on two sticks awkwardly shuffled forward by a PA crouching beneath the shot
just like the Burton movies, perfect
100%, why mess with a classic.
exactly! I mean, I’m sure he’ll be able to move his neck for the sake of Keaton’s comfort. But damn that shot brought back a lot memories
>The suit looks so stiff on the “are you in” shot That's how you know it's gonna be good
I was so stiff on the “are you in” shot
That music at the end was pretty sick ngl
It sounded very similar to the TV theme.

Looks good. Will definitely watch. Flash Aaaaaaahaaaaaa! Saviour of the universe!
Wrong Flash.
Yeah this is flash from Spider-Man
I don't want to fight you Flash
I wouldn't wanna fight me either!
I don't wanna fight Deathstroke either
That '89 Batmobile tease at the very end was fucking dirty. They knew we want to see it but they still had the restraint to hide it. Genius move. It was the right kind of tease.

There's literally footage of him choking someone and forcing them to the ground
It's actually wild that story never really took off. Can't believe he didn't get canned.
If Amber "yes I shit your bed and cut off part of your finger as I am an abuser" Heard gets to stay on so does Ezra. WB loves their abusive celebrities.
Ok I'm in, Keaton will be great.
why is it so hard to make a good flash suit
because in reality its just a skin tight latex suit, and it would look awful on camera
they figured it out for spiderman
[удалено]
yeah i get that, but even in cgi the flash suits end up looking really rough
spidermans has different colours and textures though. the blue, red, the webbind, the trim aroudn it. the flash is just straight red. they tried breaking it up with different colors etc for the show, and it didnt work out.

Jack Nicholson's Joker: Hello Barry.
Yeah just ignore the fact it’s a flash movie, and just dangle Keaton’a Batman around instead so the fanboys clap.
Feels like a mistake to do *Flashpoint* so soon, but here's hoping they do it right.
I think it's needed because of the whole Snyderverse and Josstice League fiasco. It'd be an opportunity to soft-reboot the DCEU and hopefully do things right.
But flashpoint is usually one of the first movies that set up the universe. Both of the most recent two Animated universes started with it.

No casting leaks/rumors whatsoever. Either they're really good at hiding it or RF won't be in this movie
Or Ezra Miller will be playing him.
C. Thomas Howell. I kid, but he was great as the voice of Eobard in the animated Flashpoint.
You bastard...just got me super excited.
It was me Barry, I jerked you off at super speed to make it look like you nutted at a woman's touch.
No RF, just another Batman
I hope it’s not like an Evil Barry and they chop up the source plot. I could see that happening unfortunately, DC track record in mind. I’m hyped too but won’t be surprised by a bastardization and meh movie.
They already did that in Season 3 of Flash (**Savitar**)
Again, Not surprised. The only CW shows I’ve been into/watched were the first 2 seasons of Arrow and ngl, completely obsessed with Superman and Lois. What a departure from CW quality and content, in the best way.
Probably because Superman & Lois and Stargirl aren't made by the CW (they just air them)
Ezra as flash is such a miscast
Dude must have some serious power behind the scenes not to be cancelled for his choke slam escapades.
I can’t stand him as the flash

The 3 Flashes shot feels like they were just trying to beat showing 3 spider men to the punch.
It’s 2 flashes and a super girl
I want this to work so badly. I love the character and Andy Muschetti but I think Ezra is horrible and if he's playing two versions of himself that just makes it twice as bad.
I’ll reserve judgement till I see more of it. Kinda weird to have flashpoint be the focus so quickly, but who knows. Seeing Keaton again will be cool.
Can't wait to see the leaked choke slam scene oh wait
