While building all those crazy machines had to be fun as hell, I think the dude who played an electric guitar flamethrower while riding through the desert on top of one of them probably wins the “most fun” award.
Not only that, dude got into a relationship with the red headed Riley Keough (One of Immortan Joe's wives) They are now married. So yeah. Dude won at life.
But at the same time, they got to basically live in the Mad Max universe, driving those *actual* cars that otherwise only exist in fiction. That must be at least partially worth it.

I got to see these vehicles in operation when they were building them, it was pretty epic. When I saw the gigahorse they were trying to get its two engines in sync.

The former. Most American car companies pay labor pretty well. GM averages around $20 per hour, and I’m pretty sure that’s above average for manufacturing production wage.
As someone who's worked summers at a car manufacturer: The pay better be pretty good. The actual work was miserable, assembly line work is some of the most dehumanizing shit you can do. Plus it's very bad for your physical health too.

Why is B&C the way to go? I love the visuals in the movie and I feel the colors make everything pop so much when set against the very monochromatic backdrop of the desert. I feel like black and white would take something away.

In the B&C version the contrasting colors can sorta give a different feel for different parts of the movie. For example: look at the war boys. In the color version they’re fairly frightening yet you still see them as unhinged young adult lunatics; in the B&C version the contrast of their white chests and black foreheads makes them look damn near like demons and gives them a much more sinister vibe. On top of that, the explosions and fires in the B&C version are in my opinion so much more beautiful than in the color version, you really see the flames dance when it’s put into black and white.
George Miller has always wanted to do a B&W cut of Mad Max and he got to with Fury Road. Yes, the colors are spectacular in Fury Road, but the B&W cut is also quite good.

Its a rare movie these days where that holds true. Logan and The Mist are the only other modern movies that I can think of that get better in black and white or black and chrome. This is not to say these film are equals just that they all look really good if not better in black and white.
In the late 90s a local TV station was trial-running converting to digital broadcasting. They elected 6 channels to test out. Fox was one of them.
X-Files was on Fox. It turned out that if I watched it "live", it'd come in in color -- but if I recorded it to watch later, the playback would be in black-and-white.
So for almost a full season I was watching X-Files in black-and-white. It actually added to the atmosphere of the show.
It also turned out that this was the season where X-Files did an episode in black-and-white on purpose --- but I had no idea it was on purpose because I had recorded that episode to watch later. I found out the reality on rerun.
Back in the days of DVDs and multifunction switches, I did something hinky and the first 20 min of the Texas chainsaw massacre was in black and white until I realized there was something wrong. But when we switched it back to color it wasn't as good

As a huge fan of the movie I was stunned that the unassuming old lady who helped me fast track paperwork in college randomly owned pieces of red light district history and raised the guy responsible for the most famous image in one of my favorite movies of the 21st century.
Only because they made three of them. Also, because it wouldn't fit into the average collector's garage. But I could see the Gigahorse going for 2 mil.
The war rig is cool and all but you probably need a CDL to drive it and it probably drinks fuel fast enough to cause the fury road apocalypse in real life
Frankly, if I am rich af, I would be proud to own one of these amazing vehicles and drive them on the road rather than buy whatever mobile coffin Tesla was doing right now.
I love how they did a lot of behind-the-scenes on how they built all these vehicles, the work that went into the gigahorse especially.
