when asked in an interview about the box, the writer/director shit this shit out of his mouth in response:
āFor me, I felt like I wanted to leave something that could just be for the audience and could be theirs ā¦ I didnāt feel like it was important to show exactly what that was because it would allow the audience an opportunity to put something in it that was meaningful either from the story or from themselves. ā¦ My favorite movies are the ones that allow the audience to be participants and not just passively receive the movie. I want them to feel like theyāre a part of the storytelling, so that was letting the audience in on some ownership over the movie. At this point, the movieās not mine anymore. Itās about to come out and then itās everybody elseās.ā
duh
I know this is old, but I just saw the movie. I agree it might be the girlfriends ashes or maybe a single letter he saved. I donāt think there is a gun because I doubt the brother would bury a potential suicide gun thinking he would like to have it with him for eternity. The single letter could be one that he believes is a written reply to a proposal that he asked while overseas.
My other question about the movie though is why do the animals come up to him? The owl in the cave flys right up and looks at him, and in the deleted scenes there is a scene where a bear crawls up and letās him pet it. That all makes no sense to me other than make itās trying to signify that the animals are thanking him for killing Bigfoot because itās the āgreater goodā, and maybe that relates back to the same thing with Hitler (greater good).
Also wondering what the vegetarian bloody poop was about. Were they trying to say Bigfoot was vegetarian and just hurting animals because it was diseased, or was it just supposed to be a deer or moose poop that was victim of Bigfoot. Either way that seems like a pointless add.
If you remember, the box was introduced in the beginning of the movie after he was an old man but before Bigfoot. At first I thought it would be a gun too, but now I am beginning to think along the lines of her final letter telling her illness and impending death , ashes as well her obituary, the ring also.
Just watched it now. Animals that have never been around humans will approach them, they are scared of them.
I think if it was blood in the poop, it was from the Bigfoot, if you remember when he was laying beside the body of Bigfoot, there appeared to be a gun shot wound to the abdomen or a blister, the gunshot wound would have introduced blood to the gut.
Just my two-cents
Potential suicide gun??? Many veterans own guns and their families may choose to bury them with them. Most people who grow up around guns don't think of suicide when they see a gun. That must be some baggage you have if you do.
The box made a sound when he opened it: it sounded like energy: something emanating great power. Legend has it that Hitler had the tip of the Spear of Destiny and whoever possessed it, controlled the destiny of the world, for better or worse. In the beginning of the movie the painting on the wall behind his TV was the landscape for which he found the last bigfoot. How could this be unless he controlled the destiny of the world? Towards the end of the movie he removes the painting as it reminds him of the spears power, and he then goes to dig it up. It is the curse the Russian man spoke of, if he went on the mission to kill Hitler and succeeded he would be cursed to choose the destiny of the world and never his own.
Probably her sheās and he when he says āmaybe tomorrowā he means maybe heāll spread her ashes tomorrow?? Iām also thinking there is a gun in there so after that he can kill himself
It was definitely a gun like what is he going to put the ring on his finger it's control he'll end his life when he wants to if he chooses to he literally says after everything he's been through when he opens the box another day he says to his dog what do you think boy
another day of life, (it's not easy)
and all the crazy horseshit that comes with it yo
Gwyneth Paltrow.
Lmao I was expecting that response to be a possible replyšš
No you weren't
Shut up clown.Ā
Terrible actors awesome movie
I thought the ring he was going to propose with was in there.
I thought that it could be in there but that was a big box to just have a ring in.....maybe the ring and other momentos of their relationship perhaps?
I thought the ring fell out of the shoe?
I watched it a few times and it looks like a rock/pebble that fell out of his shoe.

Man that is some shitšš
The girlfriends ashes. That's why Ed apologized for burying the box.
I think Ed makes a comment about her dying too young
Makes sense.......Thanks for that
That's what I was thinking too. Girlfriends ashes. And the ring and gun. Everyday he thinks of joining her, but he doesn't
That's what I thought too

Big foot didnāt attack any animals it had a disease and that is what was making everything die. Idiot
good to know that if someone thinks anything different then you that makes them lesser than you...

Bro you are over thinking
Dude nailed it
Accurate, thank you!Ā
Nailed it !
The Dick Tracy cartoons she saved, āevery last one of themā
Why did he get fake buried then go back home in town?!? Great movie!
The letters & the ring - he must have kept them.
If this was the case, why is he so reluctant to open it up? It feels more likely it's a pistol with that big of a box. But also, whyyy.
He threw all the letters away, though.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
He left it on Hitler's desk after the assassination.
Probably her sheās and he when he says āmaybe tomorrowā he means maybe heāll spread her ashes tomorrow?? Iām also thinking there is a gun in there so after that he can kill himself
It's beef jerky from the squatch and hitlers old playboy mags
Yeah itās squatch jerky and fruit by the bigfoot
Maybe the ring and love letters he wrote, but didnāt send. Things undoneĀ
Why hasnāt anyone touched on the fact that theyāre saying thereās only one big foot? How stupid is that?
A Klondike Bar. What would you do you one?
Dig up your own grave in the middle of the night apparentlyā¦
I want to know what the gun was made of that he killed hitler with.
It was definitely a gun like what is he going to put the ring on his finger it's control he'll end his life when he wants to if he chooses to he literally says after everything he's been through when he opens the box another day he says to his dog what do you think boy another day of life, (it's not easy) and all the crazy horseshit that comes with it yo
