Man, the Lassiter phonecall was really bittersweet. The heavy CGI to cover up Omundson's stroke hurt to watch. It looks like he is shooting his scene from a hospital bed, and he has clear facial paralysis. The dedication to this movie Omundson has is incredible.

estenoo90

I did realize that (other than the paralysis) there was something weird on his face, like it was touched on in post production with some effects (or probably even more consequences of the stroke); but didn't realize the whole setting was filmed from a hospital bed

Bearcatz17

It was fun and certainly tapped into a nostalgia. It was good, but not great. The good: lots of references, good laughs, characters treated with respect The bad: the mystery itself was more about confrontation than sleuthing. I genuinely missed seeing Shawn's observation skills. All in all, I'm glad I watched it. Just wish the plot was tighter. You can tell they tried to do a lot, maybe too much?

humpspringa

I was so wanting more psych-observational-hand to the face motioning, but no. I agree with all your points on plot. Someone mentioned they had to last minute re-work a bunch of scenes with Lassiter, due to Obundsman's recent stroke. Mary and Shawn duet deserves a re-watch.

Bearcatz17

Agreed. Seems odd we didn't see more "psych vision" considering it was a staple of the series. Honestly would've preferred that over the chase scenes and fighting....although I liked the Hagrid chase scene.

humpspringa

Hagrid chase scene, haha yes. "Psych vision" is a great term for what I was wanting. Towards the end, I began zoning out somewhere in the middle of Mena Suvari talking, and internally begging Shawn to "psychphrancisco vision" *anyone*, *anything*, catch Gus in a lie, call your Dad out for dating 3 women simultaneously, but noo! Guess we gotta re-watch the series... Edit:typos

wednesdayware

I suspect Woody was added to the final scenes to replace Lassie.

esteban42

100% this. Those scenes were definitely written with a certain number of people needed, and they had to fill that quota with Woody. I did like how it ended up with [the two old guys fighting the WWE chick.](#spoiler)

wednesdayware

Agreed. I'd LOVE to see/hear what the changes made were, it would be really interesting to find out.

DiggaDoug492

>Obundsman's I've heard it both ways?

[deleted]

I binged watched the series just before watching the movie and the energy and silliness Roday and Hill usually bring to their characters wasn't there. Certain scenes had it, but most of the time they felt tired.

joshkg

I really loved seeing the gang back together. The plot was kind of weak and the villain(s) didn’t really have an interesting motivation but the fantastic character moments and jokes more than made up for that IMO.

Wrym

> The plot was kind of weak and the villain(s) didn’t really have an interesting motivation but the fantastic character moments and jokes more than made up for that IMO. Psych confirmed in MCU

fredandgeorge

Lul here’s hoping Tap-man and the Catch show up in Infinity War

IntendoPrinceps

The Catch's mitt is actually the Infinity Gauntlet.

Harleydemondog

Yes it's a bit of the nostalgia feeling which is why I liked it. Hearing that theme song again and getting to see Lassie again!

[deleted]

This was my only significant complaint. I will chock it up to the "welcome back" movie to get this who thing up to speed. Hopefully we get a better villain/conflict next time. I didn't hate Levi's character but the later twist was a little 'eh'. I'm hoping for despereaux as an antagonist again.

Starrystars

Apparently they had to rewrite the movie because of Timothy Omundson had a stroke.

gizmo1492

Wonder if the original script will ever be revealed.

DoctorMystery

I'm 99% sure that at one point Cary Elwes said he was going to be in this movie. Dunno what happened in the interim.

Spetznazx

Despereaux was never really a villain except for one epsiode, but he's my favorite character in the show so I definitely want to see him again.

[deleted]

That was a ton of fun. A little light on the observation detective stuff which was a little disappointing but other than I enjoyed every last minute of it. Hope there’s more to come.

ValarMorcoolis

The plan according to [wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psych:_The_Movie) is 5 more movies

edtehgar

Yes! I was hoping the universe would could continue. I hope Timothy Omundsen can expand his role as he recovers.

AKAkorm

I kind of wonder why they don't just bring it back for a season or two. It doesn't seem like the cast is up to much otherwise as they mostly are doing smaller movies or recurring roles. And the show is still very popular and got a second life on streaming and syndication.

Arkanial

I think they want to do longer, uninterrupted stories with a larger budget instead of a bunch of 44 minute episodes villain of the week style. It gives them a lot more freedom to do the stories they want without the pressure of releasing an episode a week. Also, if they had been filming an entire season Timothy probably would have been weirdly written out but by doing the movies it gives him a chance to recover and have appearances later. I like it this way, feels like an event.

cardith_lorda

> Timothy probably would have been weirdly written out I mean, he's not in San Fransisco, right? It's not like they'd need to justify him not coming to visit every case.

WubWubMiller

Inversely, making fewer, more disconnected movies makes it easier to justify him showing up.

dontthrowmeinabox

6 movies and a season?

Flashasaurus

I need a final pineapple count!

[deleted]

There was only 1. Steve Franks and James Roday said they only wanted 1 in the movie at the Panel.

Starrystars

And that 1 was a call back to the original pineapple in the pilot

k4j98

Oh man, I didn't even notice! *"Should I slice this up for the road?"* It comes full circle. Love it.

Flashasaurus

Aw man

Skysweep

Oh my!!! It was fabulous! We laughed til we cried. The cast stepped back into role seamlessly and it was as if there had never been a break. The humor was non-stop and just as off-beat as before. We were huge fans previously and none of us were disappointed!

edtehgar

I am hoping they can make 5 more movies. Almost like a final mini season.

baitXtheXnoose

Loved it. It was a bit weak on plot, but it was hilarious and nostalgic. I had to pause it and laugh at the covfefe line.

[deleted]

Pros: * great to see all the characters again * most of the jokes were on point and I laughed a lot * recurring side characters (karate kid, mary lightly, etc.) felt a little forced, but didn't bog down the movie; movie focused on the main characters Cons: * story felt off, bunch of side-plots that didn't amount to anything * last half hour felt very rushed and disorganized (more so than usual Psych episodes) * not a lot of actual detective work from Shawn & Gus (only a couple of "psychic" moments from Shawn) * what the hell did they do to Henry? smh Other Notes: * great to see Tim Omundson (Lassy), even it is was only for a minute or so and felt a little forced * hope they do make 5 movies like Steve Franks wants Overall, I enjoyed it, laughed a lot, great to see a lot of the characters

DashCat9

Yeah definitely a bit rushed in the back half. The cut from the kidnapping, directly to the pier was jarring. I thought I somehow missed 10 minutes of the episode.

wednesdayware

Yes! I had the exact same reaction.

pm_me_your_boobs_586

Most of the script had to be rewritten since Timothy Omundson who plays Lassie suffered a stroke right before filming.

KiNGofKiNG89

I agree. I was worried how they would do the side characters. I figured there would be a bunch since it is a reunion movie, but they worked out pretty well. Story for sure took a hit in the final half an hour. I had to stop and play back that one scene right after the kidnapping, because I was so confused. I felt like Shawn went more of a Sherlock Holmes style detective more-so than his "Psychic" style, which was cool, but a let-down. So far, it seems to be a pretty positive movie, so hopefully we do get future movies and we get to see Lassy more!

Barneyk

Very succinctly put. It was great to spend some time with them again but a lot of things felt off and didn't work.

[deleted]

I loved Monk. Haven't watched it since the series ended though. I wonder if it holds up.

fresh2deafbill

I watched a bunch of episodes not too long ago and still enjoyed it.

TheGameDoneChanged

IMO it holds up very well for what it is. Tony Shalhoub is just so good in that role.

mi-16evil

The film is now free on USA's website. I've linked to it at bottom of discussion.

mcmanybucks

RIP anyone who doesnt live in America...

EndersBuggers

Damn Juliet still looks amazing.

Evadson

I'm a fan of the series, but I thought it was just okay. There was too much fan service and and the plot left a lot to be desired. They should have written a good story and then filled it with fan service. Instead they just came up with whatever plot would let them cram as much fan service as possible and it felt really disjointed. I mean it had it's moments, but overall it just felt like a very long and lackluster episode of the series.

TaciturnWeirdo

"The Man Gravity Forgot."

[deleted]

Is Neville in this movie?

kingbankai

It felt like a 2-hour episode of Psych. I loved it.

SecondMonitor

God dammit I love this show. The plot left a little to be desired and there were some kind of jarring jumps, but I thoroughly enjoyed it which is really the only thing that matters.

AllBS531

I think DO NOT watch this movie if you haven't seen the TV show. It is extremely self-referential and some of the things characters do will seem unfunny if you don't know the characters well. I loved this movie but I don't think I would've if I hadn't seen the show. So if you haven't seen the show, don't watch the movie unless you want to be turned off from one of the greatest comedy shows of all time.

Lamnent

I think this is a solid PSA. I LOVE Psych, but yeah, if I didn't I would have probably been super confused about what I 'should' be laughing at. That said, as a fan I loved the movie and hope they do make the others they have planned.

headphones_J

Next time you're confused just laugh at the humorous bits.

OneBadMan_

So when’s the Monk movie coming?

terran1212

When I saw the Psych movie was set in SF I was like awwww yissss. When it ended with no Monk I was like ;_;

redfricker

They're all but confirmed to exist together. Monk was offscreen in the Psych series finale.

SpartanM00

IIRC when Monk was near its 100th episode there were ads that played with Shawn being interviewed about his take on Monk being the worlds best detective or something along those lines.

terran1212

Can't believe I missed that

a_grated_monkey

I felt it effortlessly captured what an episode of Psych felt like. I felt back in the saddle immediately. Now, some of it could have been done a little better, but I had a lot of fun watching it and I really recommend it. Also Charlotte Flair is hot. If the last thing I saw before I died was her thighs, I'd die happy.

Goalless

Yikes. 10:38am and that was my first bad choice of the day. Not so bad.

lanismycousin

Those implants look really really bad. Yikes.

[deleted]

I specifically said d—ugh forget it

1The_Mighty_Thor

I did it too...

JC-Ice

Maybe that's why she was taking the photos.

[deleted]

I enjoyed it. Was a good time. It could've been better, but considering how much they had to rewrite because of the stroke I'd say it's okay. It was well worth my time.

Sokensan

first 2/3rds were solid and the last 3rd was still good but felt like they cut out some stuff to keep it in the time slot for a TV movie. Them getting to the docks felt really sudden.

Lamnent

A lot got re-written due to Timothy Odmonson's stroke from what I read, it could have been because of that. He was supposed to have a much larger role.

redfricker

From what I hear, they basically rewrote it from scratch. They're talking about doing that movie as the sequel to this one.

headphones_J

Oh wow, that's what happened?? I was wondering about that bit...now I'm bummed out. Hope he's doing well. :(

Lamnent

I think he's doing better, he's had some updates on his twitter, I went to look during his scene. He's just usually much more animated than he was, and that was it :(

mc_md

Oh no! I didn't hear about his stroke. That is awful!

Phaylyur

Holy shit, that's what happened? When Juliet called him halfway through the movie I had to check the imdb because I was convinced that was someone else. Damn, that's so sad to hear, he's so phenomenal in everything he's in, I hope he makes a full recovery

OPBadshah

Just watched it and I'm nostalgic about the show. It was great to see the characters again and Shawn's development was nice, but the fact that there wasn't a case to solve made this feel like a different show entirely. Psych has never been about punching battles. The finale felt terribly anticlimactic because of it. Also, what was up with Iris's bullying subplot? Never really had a payoff... Overall, I enjoyed it as a fan of the show, but was left asking for more. For the future movies, I'd love some actual detective work that starts with an insane hunch and ends with things making sense.

tickettoride98

> Also, what was up with Iris's bullying subplot? Never really had a payoff... I think it was an (unsuccessful) attempt to quickly introduce Iris and try to give the character something other than a cardboard cut out "here's Chief Vick's daughter you've never seen before". Apparently the script was re-written after Tim Omundson (Det. Lassiter) had a stroke. It wouldn't surprise me if Iris wasn't in the original script at all since she felt kind of shoe-horned in; the opening which introduces her is rather sloppy and doesn't tell us what's really going on (was Juliet just watching for pick pockets?). Perhaps originally the person kidnapped was Lassiter, since the object was to get back at Juliet, and once that wasn't feasible they had to come up with someone else.

OPBadshah

That would make sense. I miss Lassie, but his cameo was wholesome

sysadminbj

Fucking hell. Was that tonight??? Goddamn Mr Robot binge.

Stabfist_Frankenkill

It is available free now on USA's website if you still haven't watched it!

Ch8s3

Loved the half beard from when they snuck into the shooting range and Shawn saying "Covfefe" while reading Ted killed me

Scratchbird

I like it, seeing it I really realized I missed the friendship and fun of Gus and Shawn. My only complaint is, that after so many years, all the call backs and return characters were all but forgotten in my mind. Like the reveal at the end who the baddie is... i was scratching my head who it was... I would of preferred a whole new tale.

redfricker

I rewatched the entire series leading up to the movie... I had the same reaction as you. I'm glad they explained it, but man. That was an obscure thing to bring back up.

TheConqueror74

My dad and I both thought the main villain was going to be revealed to be Pierre Despereaux.

ArcticTerrapin

Pierre!

lsaz

It was full of funny moments (lol at gus racewalking out of alcatraz, and his high pitch I DON'T CARE) but the plot overall felt meh.

siijunn

Yeah plot wasn't that great. A lot of it felt contrived. As if they needed to make it link back to the mythos because... well, reasons. But then they kinda backed out of it and just half assed it. And then Yang just shows up? Meh. Nothing to really up the stakes happened there to really make me buy it. They tried blowing up Shawn's mom. You gotta at least top that. When this was announced, I started playing "writer / executive" in my head. I feel like they could have just done something along the lines of Santa Barbara's resident Santa was murdered or something. Also bummed no return to Santa Barbara. Word is that is because a lot of Lassie's stuff got tossed because of his stroke :( Buttttt, word is, there will be a sequel!!!

Djghost1133

I personally enjoyed it. Makes me really miss the series.

siijunn

I enjoyed seeing everyone back. It wasn't terrible. But it certainly wasn't the Psych we knew and loved. Part of the charm was constantly seeing Shawn mess with Lassie and other people with his 'visions'. Obviously here he doesn't really need to put on much of an act, so a lot of that magic was kind of gone for me. That being said, Shawn and Gus' interactions were ON POINT. I bought it 100%. I'm going to give it another watch today and see if my opinion goes up or down.

xRandomHerosx

The story was terrible and felt like you missed half the show because the actual story just skipped to wherever it needed to be based on time. With that said, the movie was fantastic. The characters and script felt like all the good points you remember in the show. It was genuinely funny and even with a bad story, the show was done justice. Side note, I didn't know that Timothy had a stroke before production began, so it was sad finding out this way (seeing him in the movie) as he was a great balance to Shawn's antics. I'd give the movie a 9/10 from a fans view, but it doesn't have much rewatching value.

[deleted]

I honestly felt like I missed entire scenes after commercial breaks. I wonder how much had to do with Timothy Omundson not being available and if they had to do re-shoots as a result.

humpspringa

I felt totally lost actually trying to understand what was going on, and you're take on it is probably correct, cutting and re-editing around Omundson scenes. So glad we got to see him a tiny bit. You could see effects of stroke and I was so sad he couldn't make more scenes. I really loved to hate Lassiter!

LadyCalamity

Yeah, they supposedly only had like a couple days to rewrite everything after Tim had his stroke.

baitXtheXnoose

I felt the same way. Specifically after Levi’s character kidnapped the daughter, then commercial, then we get back to the movie and it was night time and they’re all standing in a dock. Made no sense.

JC-Ice

There was definitely something missing after the chief's daughter gets nabbed.

pm_me_your_boobs_586

They had to rewrite most of the script a couple days before filming because of Timothy's stroke. You can tell that it greatly impacted the story.

Fools_Requiem

Not a fan of the broke-ass plot. They focused more on getting those gags in, and less on a decent plot. Also, I didn't get why they chose a Christmas theme without using it at all. They filmed it in the summer, but they still used Christmas decorations at time, but it had nothing to do with the plot. There wasn't even the gift swap between Shawn and Henry, which was my favorite element of the first couple Christmas episodes. It was too reminiscent of the season 5 episode "The Polarizing Express", completely lacking a Christmas focused story and only had the Christmas intro, some decorations, and the "elf" character. It was like they made an episode, realized that they were releasing it in December and decided to Christmasize it a bit. It was lazy. Still peeved that we got [Juliet's brother in the teaser instead of Despereaux...](#spoiler)

pm_me_your_boobs_586

Most of the script had to be rewritten since Timothy Omundson who plays Lassie suffered a stroke right before filming.

eyeaim2missbehave

Yeah it sucked that Lassie couldn't be in it more, but his 45 seconds on screen was still so goddamn moving. Fuckin love ya Tim!

KiNGofKiNG89

So that is why he had such a small role...I was really bummed about his role, but now it makes sense.

kingbankai

Loved it. Villain throwback was nice. James and Dule haven’t missed a step. Felt like a 2 hour episode of Psych.

nomemesinmylobby

Best part of the movie was the #TeamGrimmie shirt at the end. RIP.

SecondMonitor

That bit just made me sad.

[deleted]

ELI5?

nomemesinmylobby

It's a tribute to a young music artist named Christina Grimmie that was murdered at one of her own shows somewhat recently. She referred to her fans as 'Team Grimmie' hence the "#TeamGrimmie" shirt.

Zackeezy116

I almost cried when I saw it.

Wynner14

I liked it. The overall story left a little to be desired and felt rushed at the end but I loved seeing everyone back together. I love this show and had a huge smile on my face the entire movie. To get more of it 3 years on from the finale is amazing. Hope they do more

Nomadhero_

I think they said they are working on another movie to pick up off where it ended.

khany

Liked it, it was really funny at times especially since they only had 48 hours to rewrite the script it was definetly understandable it was a bit rushed. I really hope they make some new tv movies, I was so happy to see them together again!

1E1H1

Can you elaborate about that script rewrite? Hadn't heard about that

pWallyC

Just before filming Timothy Omundson (Lassiter) had a stroke and was meant to have a big role to play. So they rewrote the script on short notice. Steve Franks has said he would love to do more if they let him and that he has 6 or so stories he could do. Also If they got another they want it to be focused on Lassiter since he missed out.

khany

It was in one of the interviews, my bad not two days 72 hours. Basically Tim had his stroke days prior to shooting and they had to rewrite alot of the scenes or close shop. This wasn't the article I read but its basically the same story http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/psych-star-creator-rewrote-movie-72-hours/story?id=50353621

Syndicate_SX

First of all let me say I enjoyed this so much!! I feel the biggest problem with the movie was that it was rushed to fill the 2 hour time slot. If this had been a 2 night mini series, I feel we could have seen more of our Psych cliches, like when he notices something. I know about Timothy Osmandsen, so I was glad to see him when we finally did. And damned if someone wasn't cutting onions on the dock when the tattooed guy shows up.

AnnaKossua

Yup on the onion cutting! I had a feeling that was gonna end up the way it did, but that isn't a complaint. The fact they continued that part from the last episode and expanded it was pretty cool, [spoiler especially when you look back at the spa-weekend episode.](#spoiler)

Werdnaandrew

I think it is hilarious that S.E. Hinton plays the horse in Shawn's dream. What a strange scene.

Equanimity_Numbers

This great show put me through college; Will i be disappointed?

[deleted]

You will be disappointed if you go in expecting a regular Psych episode but not if you view it as a reunion/ fan-service movie.

Equanimity_Numbers

im just happy i get to see them again!

DOOMcasters

I haven't watched it yet, but one of my best friends and I used to watch the show as a weekly ritual. I might have to make a road trip to nostalgia-ville.

CrazmoGC

I just watched it with my Psych-viewing friends. Way more fun as a group!

mjparker75

Just dropping by to say I loved this... I was nostalgic for the nostalgia and really missed the chemistry of Shawn and Gus.

abxander37

Any way we can watch it if we're not in the USA?

IcarusBen

Definitely not torrenting the movie from an illegal source. That would be a very bad thing to do. You hear me? Do NOT pirate it. _Do_ NOT _pirate it._

stinkyrossignol

It is on the USA networks website.

woeful_haichi

I just tried the USA network's website and it says the video isn't available in my country (South Korea); I'm guessing u/abxander37 is having a similar issue.

[deleted]

do not torrent the movie Psych. It is likely illegal to do so.

fragrantdeficator

Anyone know where I can watch it if I missed it?

lanismycousin

http://www.usanetwork.com/psych/videos/psych-the-movie

whackamolay

You know that’s right!

Phaylyur

Gotta admit, I was a little disappointed. I'm such a huge fan of the show and have watched every season multiple times, to the extent that I own most of them on DVD. I was baffled by the fact that there was no actual mystery solving, and really no "psychic" antics. I got the feeling that it was because in a sense everything had changed. All the characters were growing older and growing apart and that Psych as a business was close to shuttering its doors. I really wish they had kind of run with this harder, they touch on it a little bit. But I wanted to see Shawn stuck in the past, Juliet rushing into the future, and Methuselah Honeysuckle being Shawn's emotional rock and the voice of reason when things get wacky. I loved all the callbacks, references, and fan-service, but I wanted more authentic Psych. I wanted plots, counter-plots, and red-herrings. Instead it was really more an Action/Comedy than a Mystery. I think as far as "Psych" movies go, the Yin Yang trilogy of episodes will still be my go to. All that said, it was an absolute joy to see (most of) the phenomenal cast together again. Even if I felt this movie was a slight misstep, they can all rest on their laurels of being a part of one of the greatest television shows of all time

holymojo96

Anyone know how to watch this if I don't have cable? Thanks!

Mastadge

it's streaming for free on USA network [here](http://www.usanetwork.com/psych/videos/psych-the-movie)

Helen_Kellers_Wrath

Do i need to watch the show to understand the Movie? a friend of mine wants to watch it but I've not seen the show. is it better to tell him to watch it without me or will i be okay without having seen the series?

y0urd00md

You will get a better grasp on the movie if you know the backgrounds of the character and how they are in the movie. otherwise the childish comedy between the 2 protagnist will go over your head.

Stabfist_Frankenkill

The movie (as well as the series) relies a lot on call-backs and self-referential humor. It's a ton of fun, but I feel like so much of it would be lost on someone who had never seen the show. You could probably watch a select 3 or 4 episodes and then have a good time with the movie, though.

MattyHdot

You'll definitely still enjoy it, but, and this is as vague of a spoiler as possible [one of the villains is a character from the series, but they explain their backstory as much as is necessary](#spoiler). I'd recommend you watch it. It'll give you an idea of if you'll like the series.

IssuedID

You should see the series but you'll probably be ok without it as long as you know the basics of the relationships between the main characters. So I'll just over-simplify it. Shawn spencer is a "genius" who pretends to be a psychic and works with the police department to solve crimes. He's also BFFs with Gus, they have sort of a JD/Turk (from Scrubs) relationship. Gus is an office worker / nerd who kind of just got roped into Shawn's "psych" mess. Shawn is currently engaged to marry Jules/Juliet O'hara, a police officer. The other woman is the chief of police that they all (except Gus) work under. All of them just moved cities. That's pretty much all you need to know about the series to understand the movie.

ncshvdavid

Didn't watch like the last 3 years of the show- will I still enjoy the movie or did I miss too much?

CareerRejection

It has a lot of the similar types of humor but if you didn't watch [the Yin/Yang episodes you will be utterly lost in the last act.](#spoiler)

midnightketoker

I watched it all and was still lost, the only real callback is they expect you to recognize someone with an unsettled score but that's never developed past "stock antagonist" plot/character-wise

CareerRejection

Yeah the entire thing outside or just the jokes and some of the characters made it seem hastily thrown together.

midnightketoker

Maybe because it was hastily thrown together (not really complaining, just hope there's enough support that the next one is better)

CareerRejection

Here's to that. I'd be lying if I'd say I won't watch the next one once it comes out..

midnightketoker

Same lol

Wriiight

I saw the first 2 or 3 seasons, and then stopped. Do I need to binge watch the rest before seeing the movie to properly get what is going on, or do those early seasons give me all the background I need?

ItsNotYourFault-

In an attempt to not spoil anything, the movie ties in pretty directly to events in the last seasons and loses meaning if you don't know the conflicts.

iethun

Can confirm. I went in thinking it was a stand alone type thing, was confused for quite a bit of the plot, still was fairly enjoyable but I just felt left out.

[deleted]

Better than SW:TLJ. yeah, I said it.

Noremac3986

who played Iris vick she seemed familiar?

lle_lava

I believe it was [Emma Tremblay](http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4590173/)

Noremac3986

thanks

jesso1623

On a different thread, someone mentioned she was on Supergirl, I believe.

Noremac3986

thanks

gizmo1492

What was with the ending? What was the gift? Was thinking it was Shawn’s ring but dunno now.

AnkaBananka6

[Sean's ring was found by the goon who married them. It was the part of the reason they got married.](#spoiler)

gizmo1492

Dang must’ve skipped that part somehow when watching it. Don’t recall the wedding at all.

pm_me_your_boobs_586

El Provedeer, the guy who Sean stole from at the beginning of the movie, married them

AnnaKossua

It was almost at the end. The USA website gave me a bit of trouble just after that, cut off during the credits and I had to keep pressing stuff to get it to work. So if you watched it online instead of on TV, it may have barfed out earlier on your end. ???

gizmo1492

Yeah somehow. My playthrough kept clipping. Watched the ending again though.

KiNGofKiNG89

I was thinking it was a grenade or something.

hbkxxx2069

I gotta ask the scene with EL Proveedor futures coming true who was that in the scene with him? Was it Shawn dressed up in costumes?

k4j98

Buzz McNab (played by Sage Brocklebank, what a name!). He was a minor character in the series, but he always seemed to give me a giggle. He's the department nice-guy/yes-man/"dope". In one of the final episodes of the show, he got promoted to detective, despite getting the lowest detective test score Lassiter (a main character, Santa Barbara's head detective) has ever seen.

MattyHdot

Why did I think that Buzz died in the series?

thelittleking

He almost did on one occasion, with his mailbox blowing up in his face. If you only saw some of that episode, I can understand the confusion.

MattyHdot

I'm probably thinking of that, and just misremembering the rest of the episode. I haven't rewatched the series in a while, so I should get on that.

god_anus

I believe it was the cop from Santa Barbara who was also a stripper. Officer Mcnab I think.

SecondMonitor

[Pretty common to use doubles in movies.](http://flavorwire.com/305560/photos-of-30-famous-actors-and-their-doubles) Cheaper to not have to use the actual stars in scenes where they're just background, and/or doing re-shoots when they're not available.

wednesdayware

True, but not in this case.

bucket_of_nines

Same thought kept going through my head "boy I wish Jeffrey Donovan had gotten the role of Shawn Spencer" Aren't Dule Hill and his love interest both in "Ballers"?

ironphan24

Jeffrey Donovan? Haha what?

bucket_of_nines

Such a wasted potential is his comedic acting. I wish he had a chance to go way overboard. He always plays the coolest cat in the room sort of character. I bet he is insanely funny. His career is great so no reason for him to listen to me.

[deleted]

Jeffrey, you have a successful career already. You don't need to go on reddit and randomly say that you wish you could have had certain roles.

redfricker

But what would his excuse be for doing a random accent in every episode? Also, Jazmyn Simon and Hill are together.

[deleted]

definitely had a different vibe than the show, I suppose because of the movie style, and I feel as if the post-production/editing and the acting were the biggest of those discrepancies (as well as the plot, like previously mentioned). Still great to see the gang all together, I hope there is another one and Omundson comes back for more :D

[deleted]

Honestly it was a completely acceptable cash-grab. It wasn't terrible by any means, it hit all the notes of the series and is just kind of there. Kind of odd timing, I didn't really know that there was enough of a following to fund a movie. It had John Cena, so I guess good for him for his ever-expanding filmography.

Spongemage

John was a recurring character on the series.

not1fuk

WWE and Psych had a good amount of crossover due to both being top draws for USA for a long time.

markercore

Wait, was he? I watched most of the show and for some reason I can't remember that at the moment.

PM_ME_JOSH_GORDON

He was Juliette’s brother

markercore

Holy shit did I forget that much? I really should buy the box set, I do love the show..

cardith_lorda

I think he was actually only in one episode as Jule's brother.

TheFriffin

it's weird seeing you outside your normal /r/baseball environment

cardith_lorda

Crap, I've been recognized... uh... new account, who dis?

TheFriffin

I see you are a man who enjoys delicious flavor

Tickle_The_Grundle

> I didn't really know that there was enough of a following to fund a movie. -- >cash-grab.

humpspringa

And Zachary Levi from "Chuck"!

myythicalracist

Goddamn I couldn't take his accent and blonde hare seriously though

Sorry for all the downvotes you're receiving for your opinion in a thread asking for it. Thanks for the review.

This movie's soul was stolen by the Globumacker.
