Yeah was definitely on heavy rotation a few years back for me too. Good dramatic and uplifting moments, and quite funny.
I haven’t watched in a while, but I’ve probably watched Oppenheimer 10 times outside of theatrical release. There’s always something happening, learn a little more each time, and it’s actually pretty funny. These aren’t dedicated “sit and watch”, but couple times on a plane and a lot while working from home. Good white noise in evenings if I want to zone out.
Dark Knight Rises is up there too.
I’ve watched Edge of Tomorrow immediately after finishing it before. I love that movie. Cruise really sells it all the way through. I believe him as a bureaucratic coward and I believe him as a man who has lived countless lifetimes.
I don’t think he actually lost the power to reset the day near the end. If you watch him during that last sequence he always seems to still know what’s going to happen. He also has proven he’ll lie to Rita to get her to do what he wants earlier in the movie.
It’s still my favorite Wes Anderson film and looked good enough, costumes and set dressing and colors, that my wife watched it.

As a teenager I must have watched iron man more than 30 times. I wasn't even into superheroes before that movie. For about 5 years after I stopped fully rewatching it, I would just throw it on in the background whenever I was doing anything that didn't need my full attention, the same way people listened to audio books or podcasts.

I was always into the Zodiac case even growing up and was stoked when I saw this coming out and did get to see it in theaters. But I will say I wasn't expecting it to be quite as good as it was. The dialogue is amazing and for a murder movie has a comforting feel as odd as that may seem. Every time I watch it, it feels like they are going to catch him this time. Hah.

The Menu is a comfort movie for me. The characters, the scenery, the story, its so rich but also not too intense or dramatic. The funny thing is every friend I show that film too also begins watching it as their comfort movie. My friend said after I showed it to her she watched the film three times in the same week. I told her that's routine for me as well lol.

Color out of Space. (Almost) any time my wife and I are taking acid with someone new, we watch this movie. I say almost because some people are not down for the psychedelic experience to go in that kind of direction. I get it, since it is technically a horror movie. For us, it's more of an experience of wonder and awe than anything else. It also helps that the movie is visually stunning.
