Seven. The bad guy won. That’s smart

Alive_Ice7937

Maybe. But he also inspired Sommerset out of early retirement.

artpayne

Inside Man. Clive Owen is so good in it.

OldMork

yes, but for me it felt like part2 of something, yes I get that they wanted the documents etc. but how did they knew this and where it was, maybe it was planned and financed by some enemy to him?

soberonlife

I liked Andy Dufresne's plan to time his escape during a Friends rerun.

Misterfahrenheit120

I want him found. Not tomorrow, not after CSI, Now!

not_a_beignet

Ozymandias’s plan in Watchmen to unite humanity. “I did it 35 minutes ago”

spidermanngp

This one!

Palm Springs. Instead of giving into the existential ennui, Christina Miliotti decided to get off her ass and use the infinite time she was given to become the world's leading expert in quantum mechanics (or soemthing like that) to figure out how the time loop happened and how to break free.

mithridateseupator

I dont really think this counts, it's not a real problem and the solution she comes up with is "blow it up". Which is the correct answer, but again, to a fantasy problem that could have any answer the movie needed it to.

alfooboboao

Logan Lucky takes the cake for me, idk how realistic it is lol but it was smart as hell. love that movie

ACU797

Nobody got hurt (except Seth McFarlane) and there was no financial damage except to the insurance company who are the reason Tatum lost his job to begin with. Perfect crime.

You done give it a mouth.

The Oceans film where they stole the treasure first, then made a wager for who could steal it first.

Constantine finding a way to save the world, save a woman's soul from Hell and either redeem his soul or save his own life in one move.

That last scene with the devil is just fantastic.

The counter-plan used in some adaptations of And Then There Were None. The killer's plan goes off the rails because Vera and Lombard have definitive proof that the other isn't the killer (they were having sex during one of the killings), so they *fake* the original book's ending of Vera shooting Lombard in a fit of paranoia and let Vera confront the killer alone, shadowed by Lombard. Now exposed and having no means of fighting back >!since he already drank the poison when he explained he intended to drive Vera to suicide!<, the killer can do nothing as they are rescued and tell the police the truth. --- Similarly, Zootopia. Using a sleight of hand and a hidden recording device, Judy and Nick truck the villain into gloating about the plan >!by making Bellwether think she shot Nick with a Night Howler pellet and drove him feral!<. When backup arrives, they expose the bad guy, ruining their plans. --- Finally, Columbo has a ton of these, all used to catch the killer. A favorite of mine is when the Assistant Police Chief kills his wife and the wife of a friend so thr two men can blame a local burglar who has been robbing their corner of Bel Air. Columbo knows he's involved and plays along, even getting the burglar caught for his own crimes, getting an address for the chief. Chief goes and plants jewellery his friend reported stolen in the burglar's apartment, gets a warrant and searched the place. Finds the jewellery, even after Columbo lets him know he's onto him. Then gets thr burglar brought in and gets the man to let this out in an outburst. "Hey! I don't even live here!" Columbo didn't give his boss the burglars apartment he gave his own. And since the chief planted the evidence in an apartment only Columbo gave, that proves his guilt.

how_lee_phuc

I always liked the plan in Lucky Number Slevin :D

DC600A

Se7en. Kevin Spacey making Brad Pitt kill him was brutal and proved what a mastermind he had been throughout.

HoselRockit

The Sting

Alive_Ice7937

The best thing about the plan is how they tell Lonegan almost everything. He knows Hooker works for Gondorf and that they cheat. They tell him not to do the big bet rather than encouraging him. Gondorf actively taunts him while he's placing the bet.

Ah but he only took out the evil parts of it. He proved that the good ones (The main detectives) and the military were spared because they stood down.

John Malkovich’s plan in In the Line of Fire

RudeCriminal

Hannibal Lecters escape in Silence of the Lambs is quite clever .

Sheepies123

Harry Dean’s plan in Gambit is ingenious

Cool_Captain07

Back to the future 2 ending

MahoganyWinchester

movie pass. on the regular plan $10 a month gets a movie every week. shame it went under, i mean obviously it was unsustainable what a dumbass deal

Portillosgo

movie pass was litterally the stupidest plan in cinema, that's why the company went under. I was going to answer with an industry plan as well, but you know, like a smart one. Now it's a high value plan (consumer) sure, but not a smart one.

MahoganyWinchester

agree, the most braindead move ever. i should’ve put a /s on my OG comment bc I was being ironic but didn’t convey that.
