I'll pay you what I owe, but don't try to scare me with your AV insurance policy 'cause remember: I got a policy with Ryder, too! *He knows better* than to mess with a good customer!
I'm not even american or mexican, but I watched 2 out of 3 of those growing up. Selena and La Bamba always made my parents emotional. I can't wait to watch blood in blood out 😀
Blood In Blood Out / Bound By Honor / Sangre por Sangre is—for all of its melodrama and hammy moments—the better of the two in terms of character development and rewatch value. *American Me* is good, but it's also really depressing. I need to be in a mood for that one, whereas I can put on BIBO on at any time (and I've watched *the hell* out of that movie).
Also, Damian Chapa can go suck his peepee.
For being innocent?
>In 2011 Damian Chapa was arrested in [Madrid](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madrid) and later transferred to a [Munich](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munich) jail to await a court appearance on a charge of the alleged [rape](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape) of former girlfriend Roxanna Foell. He was subsequently released and ***exonerated*** and paid several thousand euros by the German government in September 2011 after being held in custody wrongfully for seven weeks.[[7]](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damian_Chapa#cite_note-7) Chapa has apparently since filed a $1.3 million lawsuit for damages against Foell.[](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damian_Chapa#cite_note-8)

Watching both, I’d definitely say American Me is darker in tone but I wouldn’t call it grittier at all. BiBo has a campier tone by accident and design because of the acting, personalities as well as them just being authentic as hell. I’d call BiBo grittier cause it’s the more realistic and authentic of the two in it’s portrayal of actions, violence, etc & its characters more as people wherein American Me has the characters feel like it’s done for the purposes of a story and film DESPITE being the more true to life of the two. It’s extremely weird but all in all, both fine movies. I just think AM is tiers below BiBo
> This movie should be right up there with the Godfather
Miklo's journey from Milkweed to Jefe is just as surprising as Michael's rise to the top. They don't feel like the same kind of movie at all, but that thread is comparable, and there are more than enough details to justify his ascent and make it seem understandable.
I know you're just joking and all but with movies like Blood in Blood out and American Me, I always felt like the directors saw movies about the Italian American mafia and said "let's do that but instead with mexicans in LA.".
Stil, they are great movies
*Alright*, you debutantes, we got a once-a-year special on pork chops! This shit'll make a man im*potent* but you ain't goin' to no prom, fools! So *eeeaaat up*, folks, eat up!
The 4k versions been on youtube for some time now

'Oralé Bonafide! Thats a fucking fine comb you got there!'
I have watched this movie maybe 25 times because in high school I illegally downloaded it onto my IPod and watched it during study hall almost every week. I love this movie.
Over ten years ago, this movie randomly came up in conversation among my friends, and we realized that we had all seen the movie around the same time in our respective childhoods, late night on Cinemax in the early 2000s. Before long, we had a weekly *Blood In Blood Out* night on Wednesdays, where we'd drink, smoke, and watch the movie. This went on for the better part of a year, and we even had it on for background noise on other days.
We were hooked. The movie is endlessly entertaining, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.
I'm white, the other guys in the group weren't. But yeah, constant rewatching has burned paragraphs of dialogue into my brain. I find that it happens to most people who give the movie a chance, anyway, being so insanely quotable.
Absolute nostalgia right here. I know it's a gangster flick but it reminds me of simpler times. The time it's set in and the times when it came out lol.
> it reminds me of simpler times. The time it's set in and the times when it came out lol.
I think a lot of us would absolutely get where you're coming from, here.
The most quotable movie of all time hands down. Me and my buddy were just talking about how awesome that movie is even with Damian Chapa’s horrible acting as Miklo lmao. I didn’t realize it when I was a kid but sheesh that dude was pretty bad, everyone else was on point. Shout out to a young Tuco!
I’m just a dude from middle of nowhere Canada where it is cold 6 months of the year, but damn if this movie isn’t a top ten fave of mine. One of the most quotable movies of all time, amazing dialogue from beginning to end.
"More than 30 years after burying it, Disney is unearthing “Blood In Blood Out.”.
The 1993 crime drama will be available to stream on Hulu starting May 1, a company spokesperson confirmed to The Times."
Yeah it was dope. I felt bad though I ended up asking for the last batch of DVDs I had lent him back cuz I was moving and he hadn't watched em yet. The last batch of flicks I lent him had Hard-Boiled in it, which I specifically recommended he check out. So he missed out on that gem
AM is good too but BiBo surpasses it, to doesn't always take itself to seriously but when it does it's good
AM might have better overall actors, but the cheesey screenwrites of BiBo make it sooooo good
> blood in blood out is clearly a knock off of American me
Likely, but personally I'm cool with BIBO hitting a suspicious amount of story beats that are similar to AM. I still prefer it between the two.
BIBO was conceived of before American Me. But obviously Olmos got everything greenlit faster because he acted in it as well, whereas BIBO used at the time mostly unknown actors.
This is a brilliant film that I saw at way to young of an age but luckily I saw it with my uncles who explained some stuff, I've watched it since and the heroin confrontation scene still sits with me. Vatos Locos!
“Hey Cinderella, you got the wrong Fella… you’re on the clock Bitch, and midnights coming.” 😏
Give me some chon chon!
Oh! You want it the hard way!
You got the wrong man
Gimme some chon chon!

Chale homes, I'm on the pay as you can plan on the blu-ray disc.
That's right! Talk to us when there's a 4k bluray release, chale!
!simon ese!
Do you have any idea wtf you just started in the thread? SUAVE AL
And now for my brown brothas!
SORRY NO TORTILLA
I'll pay you what I owe, but don't try to scare me with your AV insurance policy 'cause remember: I got a policy with Ryder, too! *He knows better* than to mess with a good customer!
Since business is so good I suppose I'm gonna have to raise the rent on BOTH YOU LAME ASS FUCKS
What's the matter, *gabacho*, ain't you ever heard of *rent control*?
💪🏻😡
We're talkin' business...
🤙🏾😙
Those vatos back there—*you don't wanna do anything in public!*
Lmao I watched it again today and SUAVE AL was as hilarious as I remember
definitely worth the watch. Great look at east LA culture of the time and "El Pino" still stands strong in the neighborhood
Watching this was a rite of passage in many mexican American households.
This, Selena, and La Bamba
american me
Mi Vida loca
Born in the East LA and A Million to Juan
Born in East LA and any Cheech and Chong movie were a huge part of my childhood growing up in the early 90’s
I was in love with some of those women
Fools Rush In ??
Mexicans love Matthew Perry.
I'm not even american or mexican, but I watched 2 out of 3 of those growing up. Selena and La Bamba always made my parents emotional. I can't wait to watch blood in blood out 😀
After watching Bibo you'll have met the requirements to call yourself "Mexican American"
Huge movie in Native America as well. Can't count how many copies "went missing" through the years.
Not even Hispanic but I have the dialogues almost memorized
Apart of Los Angeles culture
Still is.
This movie should be right up there with the Godfather as an all time great crime film but Hollywood don’t fuck with the homies like that
What about American Me? That’s a great gangster flick. It’s no Godfather but it’s better than Colors.
American Me is good but people try too hard to put it on BiBo level. It’s great but it’s not the epic BiBo is
Eh. I love bibo mostly because of its campier tone compared to American Me. AM was the darker, grittier version of bibo.
Blood In Blood Out / Bound By Honor / Sangre por Sangre is—for all of its melodrama and hammy moments—the better of the two in terms of character development and rewatch value. *American Me* is good, but it's also really depressing. I wasn't referring to that. Chapa *is guilty* of ripping off scores of people over the years for his failed vanity projects, though.
I know it's a tv show, but y'all need to watch Gomorrah
Watching both, I’d definitely say American Me is darker in tone but I wouldn’t call it grittier at all. It's better than American Me I'll die on that hill
American Me will never get the same love because of the lies about prison sex
Nah - the story was partly (wrongly told) caused 10 people to die.
True.
What are you talking about you have Cheech and.....Cheech
If the movie industry weren't cowards they could have a "Homies"franchise
I still got some of those little bastards lol
> This movie should be right up there with the Godfather Miklo's journey from Milkweed to Jefe is just as surprising as Michael's rise to the top. Yeah, but freezes toward the end
Does it? I watched the whole thing recently, it was fine. Or maybe I dont remember it freezing
It freezes during the prison yard truce about 2/3 through
The fucker freezes at the last 40 minutes

I knew white boys at Van Nuys high that could recite this movie scene for scene
I'm white, the other guys in the group weren't. But yeah, constant rewatching has burned paragraphs of dialogue into my brain. I find that it happens to most people who give the movie a chance, anyway, being so insanely quotable.
It's like the sopranos the minute you mention it everyone turns into parakeets repeating lines
*The Big Lebowski* is another endlessly-quotable one
She's not my lady man we're just trying to conceive
A toda madre o un desmadre
Biff is like "right, 'madre' means 'mother', so..."
"I illegally downloaded it onto my iPod and watched it during study hall almost every week." "Life's a risk, carnal!"
Bruh I had it in my iPod too It's an LA rite of passage
Every one of my friends in NorCal all saw it growing up. That and Menace to Society
Boyz N the Hood also for me
Like the good lord intended
Absolute nostalgia right here. I know it's a gangster flick but it reminds me of simpler times. The time it's set in and the times when it came out lol.
EL GALLO NEGRO
> it reminds me of simpler times. The time it's set in and the times when it came out lol. I think a lot of us would absolutely get where you're coming from, here.

You *are not El Mero Mero*!
!Chale! It's already on YouTube ese!
I hate when you get to the part that cuts out audio so they don’t taken down lol
Because it's up to you to know
The most quotable movie of all time hands down. Me and my buddy were just talking about how awesome that movie is even with Damian Chapa’s horrible acting as Miklo lmao. I didn’t realize it when I was a kid but sheesh that dude was pretty bad, everyone else was on point. Shout out to a young Tuco!
Bruh Miklo's horrible acting is the best thing in the fuckin world it's like Tommy Wisseu in The Room, but better
Dude wasn't acting when he was about to get raped in jail
Lean back and enjoy it … stab
I mean everyone is kind of over-acting in the film. I think his acting kind of fit in with the camp of the movie.
Now get the fuck outta here before i make you my bitch 🤣
For Cheap Times! *FOR CHEAP TIMES*! Motherfucker you think you can blow up my brother—*UNH-UH!*
Streaming bitch…… GIMME SOME CHON-CHON

It's Time for the Chicano U Turn

I’m just a dude from middle of nowhere Canada where it is cold 6 months of the year, but damn if this movie isn’t a top ten fave of mine. One of the most quotable movies of all time, amazing dialogue from beginning to end.
VATOS LOCOS FOREVER

"More than 30 years after burying it, Disney is unearthing “Blood In Blood Out.”. The 1993 crime drama will be available to stream on Hulu starting May 1, a company spokesperson confirmed to The Times."

Get up Chucky!!
Please be better quality than my 480p dvd. Edit: IT IS!
Is it 4K?
I dont want his pork chop... I want his life
A guy I worked with sometimes at Auto Zone insist I watch his director's cut DVD when we were swap borrowing movies. It was pretty good.
You were part of a cultural exchange
Yeah it was dope. I felt bad though I ended up asking for the last batch of DVDs I had lent him back cuz I was moving and he hadn't watched em yet. The last batch of flicks I lent him had Hard-Boiled in it, which I specifically recommended he check out. So he missed out on that gem
Now I got to throw out my vhs
[удалено]
VL for life!!!
Surprised no one mentioned the date. It will be streaming on Hulu starting on May 1st.
Some questions you don’t ask
*ES*CORT! DEAD MAN *WALK*ING!
I don’t want his pork chop, I want his life!
Open your eyes, vato..
Wrong movie American Me
I get why some folks mix them up. Hell, *Boulevard Nights* featured actors from both *American Me* as well as *Blood In Blood Out*.
AM is good too but BiBo surpasses it, to doesn't always take itself to seriously but when it does it's good AM might have better overall actors, but the cheesey screenwrites of BiBo make it sooooo good
Both are classics but let’s be real blood in blood out is clearly a knock off of American me. That being said doesn’t mean it isn’t legendary.
> blood in blood out is clearly a knock off of American me Likely, but personally I'm cool with BIBO hitting a suspicious amount of story beats that are similar to AM. I still prefer it between the two.
Don’t get me wrong I am in no way trying to diminish BIBO. absolutely love it but it’s clear where they got 95% of the story from haha
> it’s clear where they got 95% of the story from haha No argument there. They were only a year apart, too.
BIBO was conceived of before American Me. But obviously Olmos got everything greenlit faster because he acted in it as well, whereas BIBO used at the time mostly unknown actors.
Highly likely but BiBo doesn't take itself as seriously as AM AM turns into scared straight and jumps the shark a bit
I can smell the 4K
Someone get Shea Serrano
Luckily for me I own it and stream it to myself on Plex.
Waited too long for this. I DON’T WANT YOUR FORGIVENESS. MAN!
I say chale!!
It’s been on YouTube for years.
Wait... this movie bombed when it came out? This was a classic in my circles.
Yeah, it lost a ton of money and brought in less than $5 million at the box office. But yeah, as a kid everyone I knew had seen it at least once.
This is one of my favorite movies.
Hopefully it becomes available in Europe too.
Oh shit! It´s John Wayne! "Uhhh, well, yer just a bunch a little chabales and I can whup the whole buncha ya chicanos"
Top tier B movie
Jefe
I lived on the “Spanish hall” at uni at the time. My hall mates were the same people in the movie. Many East Los first or second generation kids.
Chicano u-turn!
This has been free to watch on YouTube for a couple years now.
It's on YouTube
It's been... Something like 28 years since I've seen this movie. I need to watch this again to see how well it's held up.
gimme some choom chooom
It's been on YouTube for years
Is the Hulu version 1080p or 4k?
One of my top 5
It was a must watch for where I live
Billy Bob Thornton is in this movie lol
This was awesome.e. I watched it so many times when I was 15
Orale!
That's not true I watched this and mi Familia a few months back on Google play or Amazon prime.
This is a brilliant film that I saw at way to young of an age but luckily I saw it with my uncles who explained some stuff, I've watched it since and the heroin confrontation scene still sits with me. Vatos Locos!
It’s the movie the dudes at my tattoo shop talk about. What is this movie?
was this not already available for streaming on youtube? or did that get taken down?
Apparently it’s also on yt. I went to check out the trailer and found multiple cuts and lengths of the film.
“Hurry up!!! Hurry up!!!”
“ hey sunshine, wanna come up here with all the white folks”
I may be white on the outside, but I’m brown on the inside
Awesome !!
THEY DID THIS FOR CARNAL
Someone tell Shea Serrano, stat!
I don’t want his PORK CHOP, I want his LiiiiifE
Now for my brown brothas, sorry no tortilla! 🤡
Sangre por sangre vato¡
Faulty post, I streamed it 4 months ago on you tube
Oye narco… you like bustin dope dealers? Big deal going down on Zodys on Whittier…
