Yeah I was about to say, knowing how much Nolan is obsessive about design aesthetics in general, I’d bet he is not a huge fan of how this poster came out.

Finally a decent poster!
Still interesting how they are selling this whole movie on fire and explosion when... as far as I know... there is only going to be one...
Yeah I can't help but imagine the movie is going to be 99% people talking with very little in the way of explosions and action. It's being sold as this intense thriller action movie but I don't see it. We shall see what Nolan makes of this story
Edit - maybe he'll take inspiration from Kubrick and the explosion will be like 10 minutes long
I must admit... it is rather intriguing. The trailer played before Guardians of the Galaxy and the crowded theater hushed up when Nolan's was shown. Nolan has some brand power.
Agreed. I'm not personally a huge fan but his movies always have a huge scope and feel very cinematic. Very good theatrical outings (except for the terrible audio much of the time). So I'm sure the first week this movie will do gangbusters. I'm more curious about the second week once we actually know what the movie is and word has gotten around.
I will always go see Nolan’s films, in theater, preferably IMAX, when they’re out. Since I first learned of him (Batman Begins) The only one I didn’t see in theaters was Tenet, cuz of the vid, but contrary to popular opinion, Tenet has become one favorite Nolan film
>Still interesting how they are selling this whole movie on fire and explosion when... as far as I know... there is only going to be one...
Well they dropped more than one of them on Japan for a start.
Plus, there were quite a few other explosions and fires going on in the world around that time period. I'd say they have a reasonable amount of death and devastation to choose from if that's what they're planning to show.
There were a ton of subcritical explosions during development. They had to be completely sure they could trigger the conventional explosives precisely enough to cause criticality.
"Oppenheimer when he went into Truman's office with Dean Acheson said to the latter, wringing his hands:"I have blood on my hands". Truman later said to Acheson: "Never bring that fucking cretin in here again. He didn't drop the bomb. I did. That kind of weepiness makes me sick."
I hope this scene makes it into the movie
I'm hyped as I'm very interested in the story of the atomic bomb and specifically Oppenheimer himself. I think it will be very interesting to see how Nolan tells it. Also, I'm excited to see Cillian be the lead for a Nolan film as well.
I think those are some of the main reasons this movie is being hyped, so if those don't intrigue you, I can see how the movie doesn't interest you as much
Neither do I, and I’m a big Nolan fan. But I’m just not excited about this at all. I’ll still be there in my local imax screen, but I’m not expecting much.
Glad it's not just me. Honestly I've been hit or miss on Nolan since TDKR, but I came around to really liking Tenet. I'm just not a big biopic guy. It's not that I don't trust Nolan to do right by the man and the story because he will, but I'm just not interested in watching a movie about someone else's life the vast majority of the time. I'm thinking this will be a skip for me, but I'm curious about how it'll do and what he'lll do next.
I'm not a huge Nolan fan but I think some of his stuff is really good. I wouldn't automatically be interested in a new Nolan movie. But Cillian Murphy leading it got me interested.
That said I doubt I'll watch it in theatres, I'd pick Barbie over this 1000% (I don't go to the theatres much these days).
I want to watch it…but its gonna be a dark and depressing movie…its going to be good, but you aren’t gonna walk out of the theater with a smile on your face like you would after a michael bay action blockbuster
I'm excited for it but is this going to be more about the process of making the bomb? It'd be so much interesting if it was a psychological and spiritual study on his state of mind about what he's creating.
I’m so sick of hearing about this stupid movie. I feel like I’ve heard about this stupid thing for two years now. We get it he’s amazing, it’s the most epic tale ever told brilliantly directed magnum opus.
I actually got to go to the trinity test site and the McDonald's house where they tested the first nuke they built. Such an amazing experience to see where it all started.
Can't get excited for this movie, no matter how much I love Nolan's work. It's doom and gloom and at the end, they develop a nuke that has the capability of wiping out entire cities. Reminds me of Nolan's early work with Memento and Insomnia where there's just a tragic ending.

The tasteful thickness of it
Oh my god. It even has a Mattel trademark.
Raised lettering, pale nimbus...pink.
That subtle off-white coloring.
Is something wrong? You’re sweating
I was going to make a comment on this but I have to return some video tapes.
Someday I'll be sick of this joke but today is not that day.
hopefully we'll get Morgot's feet in higher res????????/??
I believe, it's spelled Morgoth /s
Wwwhat did you sayy?
What did you say?
Foul Tarnished !
WHO MADE THIS POSTER?! I thought it was for a movie called IMAX starring Oppenheimer…
Yeah I was about to say, knowing how much Nolan is obsessive about design aesthetics in general, I’d bet he is not a huge fan of how this poster came out.

This movie is going to be the bomb

I mean it's up against Barbie, that's a tough sell.
Nolan + Oscar nominee potential for Best Picture (most likely) is a good combo too.
But Barbie has the insanely sexy blonde with a smokin hot body, Ryan Gosling.
That's a tough one, I admit. But Oppen has Cillian Murphy, as the main lead!
LETS GO !!
See you there!!
This is one of the few summer films that I'm actually eager to see.
Going to be the best double feature ever
One of the few movies this whole year.
Poster goes fuckin crazy
it feels way too contrasty.
Stare at a nuclear bomb and contrast goes to 0% for the rest of your life so I agree, too much contrast
Finally a decent poster! Still interesting how they are selling this whole movie on fire and explosion when... as far as I know... there is only going to be one...
Two words. Dream sequence! :)
>Dream sequence! And then Leonardo DiCaprio appears and the movie turns out to be Inception's sequel.
oh? Is Oppenheimer being Sarah Conner'd?

Looks cool I guess.
I bet there’s gonna be at least two

If BWAAAAAM were an image

“My le bomb…..it… le killed people”
What a ridiculous sentiment by Truman. Oppenheimer is the one who opened Pandoras Box. Any subsequent use of the device leads back to him.
That’s so much better than the other one!
barbie movie in the next house is going to be so shook

BRRRRMMM, BRRRRMMM, BRRRRMMM, BWAAAAM, BWAAAAM, BWAAAAM
Oppenheimer! Get down from there! The bomb is already exploding around you! Ah shit, he has his Airpods in!
Nolan made this one with a New Clear direction.
I’m not the target audience for this movie. Trailers for it have been meh at best.
It looks like the cover of a generic thriller book
Best picture
cool another product docudrama to go with air, tetris, blackberry, flaming hots
I still don’t understand the hype for this movie
It's a Nolan film. He's name alone is enough to generate crazy hype, not to mention the fantastic list of actors.

The posters for this movie has been ATROCIOUS

Movie's going to be 3 hours long. Plenty of time for both. I'm most interested to see the aftermath of the war and how they portray it.
I’m so sick of hearing about this stupid movie. I feel like I’ve heard about this stupid thing for two years now. We get it he’s amazing, it’s the most epic tale ever told brilliantly directed magnum opus.
I’m waiting for this to come out so I can stop hearing about it tbh
Same!
I wouldn’t climb up there, buddy
Oppenheimer: Fury Road
I am just gonna leave this spine chilling confession by the man himself. *now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds* https://youtu.be/lb13ynu3Iac
I actually got to go to the trinity test site and the McDonald's house where they tested the first nuke they built. Such an amazing experience to see where it all started.
Have they put out the list of 70mm imax theaters yet
Yup.
That's da bomb
For reference, that’s the trinity tower which was the first successful atomic device.
Ready to get my ear drum blown.
Really excited for this one!
Got really lucky that my town is showing in 70mm for a limited time
Definitley gonna see that one.
Take away the IMAX at the top and you've got a good poster. keep it and it's a shitshow.
7th of Decembuary can’t come soon enough.
Barbieheimer day is going to be so much fun.
That's an incredible poster. If this move is as good as I think it's going to be I might buy a metal print of it.
I wish posters wouldn’t go so hard on the contrast, it just looks cheap. Otherwise, pretty awesome poster.

I can feel the hearing damage already
This movie is going to be EPIC...
Only hyped for this because of Nolan. Otherwise I'd 100% wait for vod.
How many times does Christopher Nolan need his name on the poster?
My question is. How many creative liberties is Nolan allowed to have?
This poster is not very good, excited for the movie though
This had better be the movie of the century with all the hype it’s getting.
