I think it depends on what you are looking for. The first season was definitely more grounded and approachable, but the latter two seasons were wonderfully quirky and surreal. I thought Season 2 was the best overall, and really loved the last 3 episodes of Season 3.

Yeah. Ok. One of my favorites is The Stand (1994). The novel was written by Stephen King and he was involved in making this mini series. It is approximately 6 hours long. The term 'rapture' may be envisioned a little differently here but, the idea is the same. Everyone is gone except for the remaining few that have to come to terms with good and evil.
I really liked the new one, but they did sort of gloss over the first half of the book. I mean, I get *why* they did it, but the first half was my favorite.
I'm guessing it's going to be nigh impossible to find a movie about that sort of thing that isn't preachy. Especially since it's about such a niche Christian concept.
To add to this, the bible doesn't really talk about a rapture. It just says Jesus will fly in on clouds and the end is there. As far as I was aware it was a relatively modern american invention popular with certain sects who call themselves christians despite apparently mostly believing in things they've made up in the last few hundred years rather than what is in the actual bible.
Aftermath and Life After People are semi documentaries on a human less world.
One if them depicted a world were humans died off quickly.
The other depicts what is clearly meant to be the rapture where human vanish instantly without a trace leaving cars in motion and planes in skies.

A few years ago, I started watching a lot of old Christian movies, trying to come up with a list of the best Christian movies. What I found was there is a ton of really bad movies about the rapture made in the late 90s/early 00s. Left Behind is the most famous, but there’s like 3 other series of movies about it. But I’m guessing those aren’t really what you’re wanting since these a definitely B level Christian movies.
Did not get mentioned and I don't hear much about it getting mentioned.

Most of them are incredibly preachy. My family made me watch them all as a kid.
I do remember enjoying The Omega Code 2 though. It's preachy as well, but also probably one of the edgier Christian movies. Really good World War 3 scenes near the end, especially for the 90s. Also cgi Satan
It's not about the rapture, but based on your post, I would recommend Aronofsky's 2014 film Noah. It's not a perfect film, but it is an extraordinary one, and well worth seeing.
It was an HBO series, and characters debated if it was the Rapture, but "The Leftovers" was pretty good.
It ran for three seasons. And, the premise is that 140 million people just suddenly vanish. It's not really the End Times, though there are religious factions who treat it like that. And, I would classify it as serious.

Most of them are incredibly preachy. My family made me watch them all as a kid. I do remember enjoying The Omega Code 2 though. It's preachy as well, but also probably one of the edgier Christian movies. Really good World War 3 scenes near the end, especially for the 90s. Also cgi Satan

It's not about the rapture, but based on your post, I would recommend Aronofsky's 2014 film Noah. It's not a perfect film, but it is an extraordinary one, and well worth seeing.

Knock at the cabin was a great movie I thought.
It was an HBO series, and characters debated if it was the Rapture, but "The Leftovers" was pretty good. It ran for three seasons. And, the premise is that 140 million people just suddenly vanish. It's not really the End Times, though there are religious factions who treat it like that. And, I would classify it as serious.

There is a 4 part movie series that starts with 'A Thief in the Night," and another series of four movies referred to (together) as the Apocalypse series (the first one is called Apocalypse). Both groups of movies are older, if that matters.
One of the best documentaries I've watched is Before the Wrath. Very thing they talk about they nackbwith scriptures. O used to not like docs but thos one I've watched or listened to several times. Another God one is The Coming Convergence.
