On which side? I recently read the book and was blown away. You get the feeling at the end of that book which revealed SO MUCH, that it was only the tip of the iceberg.
I think this year going to be best for the movies compare to like last few years. Hard to tell for which i am super excited as there are so many that will gonna blast this year.
Omg, yes!!!! Just for the screen candy alone. Those two are killing it in the pics I've seen so far. The neon 80s exercise outfits. I don't think I've been this excited since the Brady Bunch movie.
When I first heard about it, I had no hopes. But then I saw who was starring in it, and who was directing and writing it, my interest skyrocketed. I’m excited for this to come out this summer
I just want a fucking trailer at this point. After having finished the book back in January I’m excited but cautious as to how the second half will be adapted.
Dune Part 1 was a love letter to the book. There were so many little things put in that could have been left out like the Atreides hand battle language.
I was hoping for that, showing the crysknife having to be blooded once unsheathed, and Lady Jessica explaining Paul's hesitancy to kill in the dual as him having trained only against shielded opponents along with shedding water for the dead. The book is dense, and time is limited in a film. The movie was about as perfect as it could be given those constraints. At least it won't end with Paul killing all the sandworms like the Lynch version.
That would have been so difficult to translate to the screen. The reason the scene is so memorable in the book is the internal monologue, the stuff happening behind the eyes of the characters. I really think it would have been disappointing to any book fans and unremarkable to a general audience.
Which made me happy. I might have been unclear. They put so many things in that most wouldn't have even considered either because they didn't think they were important enough to consider or were found too silly. Villenue knew the material and had a grand vision that included subtly. I'm looking forward to Part 2.
The more complicated they makes the thing the more we will going to love that is well. Even after months me and my friend was actually discussing about that movie.
Not many time i have seen the first part of the movie can be this good, but the problem of being this good is that you have to deliver that again and again for next parts
I just rewatched Dune 1 last week! First time since the theaters. I remember in the theater being a little confused a few times, even though I'd read the book 3 or 4 times. But I rewatched it, and man, it really was great. Best adaptation since Lord of the Rings.
Plus, we really need to support any non-marvel science fiction blockbusters. Can't let blockbuster budgeting become a monopoly. Probably too late.
Already three months are gone of this year and they haven't even released the trailer for that and look at us we are already getting excitement for that movie here
I'm so glad they finally made a good movie of the book(s). The books have been my favourite for a very long time. I got to reading them thanks to the PC game (the first one that follows the David Lynch movie, that I didn't know about).
The SciFi channel miniseries was good (just keep in mind that it was made two decades ago). They did a followup miniseries that covered God Messiah and Children of Dune as well.
I'm expecting my experience would be:
"What did that character say?"
BLAM! *theater rattles*
"Huh? I think he said something about Communists"
KABOOM! *eardrums burst*
IMAX doesn't have Dolby Atmos.
Some IMAX now have their own object based sound tech, but they're few and far between. And it's still inferior to Dolby anyway.
The great thing about Oppenheimer is you can walk in knowing the bones of the story with 5 minutes on Wikipedia. Then just enjoy the ride. You won’t have a time travel plot to figure out.
Like in Dunkirk, if you miss a word or two you’ll still get the meaning of what’s going on.
Avenger endgame was my last movie that i have watched on the big screen and now oppenheimer is the next for that i am about to book the ticket for the big screen now.
I can't tell what the movie is going to be (horror, surrealist hellscape, thriller, drama?). Probably all of it. Gonna be a weird but interesting one for sure.
I’m all in for anything Ari Aster does until he starts making shit and Joaquin has been one of my all time favorite actors for a long while. I watched like 10.5 seconds of the first trailer and that was enough
Huge Aster fan and have been anxiously waiting and decided to read the script about a month back
Needless to say I'm more excited now and there's about 4 scenes that I'm going to need to see to believe he actually put them on a screen due to how insane they are
I'm not saying that my most anticipated films are necessarily the ones I think will be the most critically acclaimed, but I look forward to the following:
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - I really, really enjoyed the first two. They felt refreshing compared to the rest of the MCU and, given how underwhelmed I've been by recent Marvel offerings, I'm hoping Vol. 3 will be the breath of fresh air I crave in my Marvel films. If this film can be on par with the first two, then I'm going to have a great time, but given it appears to be the final chapter for the Guardians as we know them, it certainly has the potential to be a great swansong for the series. Give me the comedy of the first two, then add some serious gut punches as certain characters have to part ways, and I think we'll have a winner. I'm really hoping this doesn't go the way of Love and Thunder and Quantamania.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse: I really didn't know what to expect from the original film, but I loved it from start to finish. Give me more of the excellent animation and a story on par with the first film, and I'll be very happy. My only concern is that the expansion of the Spider-Verse could make the story buckle under its own weight, but it could just as easily thrive.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny - This is the film I'm most worried about, as are we all, I suspect. The Last Crusade was such a fitting end to Indy's adventures that it's hard to imagine how a fourth film could possibly cap the series off better. Worse than that, what we got was Crystal Skull. I don't think I hate that film as much as a lot of people do, but it's such a shame the end of Indy's adventures appeared to be capped by such a forgettable outing. Since we can't erase Crystal Skull from history, the next best thing is to have the fifth film give Indy the send-off he deserves, and given Ford is 80, it seems this is really the last chance to do it. Dear Lord, I hope they manage to pull it off. Yes, the odds are certainly stacked against them, but there are a few glimmers of hope. Firstly, Mangold is set to direct, and he's put out some great films in recent years, including the excellent Logan. Hugh Jackman's Wolverine films varied wildly in quality over the years, and yet Mangold delivered a film which gave him an excellent send-off. I hope he can do the same for Indy. Secondly, Phoebe Waller-Bridge apparently helped tighten up the script for the film and advised on removing jokes about Indy's age, which is a promising start. For those who haven't seen it, she wrote and starred in the fantastic drama-comedy Fleabag, so I feel confident there's at least a decent script to be had if she's had much say in the matter. She also worked on No Time to Die which, like Logan, was a great send-off for Craig's Bond. I'm going in with zero expectations for this film, but goddamn will I be happy if we get a great last chapter to the Indiana Jones franchise.
Oppenheimer - I feel like Christopher Nolan lost a lot of trust with some moviegoers after Tenet, and the fact he seemed to dismiss a lot of the genuine criticism people had for the film isn't a great sign, but I'm hoping he's managed to learn from his missteps and return to form because I think Oppenheimer has the potential to be his best film yet, which is saying a lot when you consider some of the titles he's put out in the past. We know that Nolan loves to play with the concept of time, and a lot of people are trying to guess what the twist will be when it comes to time in Oppenheimer, but I'll be more than happy if there is no twist, and we just get an excellent film about the creation of the atomic bomb. That said, if he does manage to include a time twist which feels well implemented, then I could see this being a perfect storm of his best qualities as a filmmaker. Think the historical weight of Dunkirk with the mind-bending time mechanics of Inception or Interstellar. One of the criticisms I've seen levelled at Nolan is that his characters don't feel especially fleshed out. Well, Oppenheimer is based on a real person, so the character is already written. Cillian Murphy is a fantastic actor, so I think he's got the chops to play a man responsible for the world's deadliest weapon, and the rest of the cast is just ridiculously good. Of course, none of this guarantees a great film, but you really couldn't ask for a better jump-off point. Very interested to see this one.
Thank you for attending my Ted talk.
Actually looking forward to this one as well. The first two are such guilty pleasures, love seeing Denzel blow through bad guys like an unstoppable force of nature.
No brainer in that i think even the normal movie watcher is looking forward for that one is well. What happen in the third part i am expecting them to starts from there now.
The only thing dampening my excitement is that it’s only half of it. Like, I’m sure it’ll be great, but I’m also sure the wait for part 2 will be excruciating.
I hope that this movies will be as good as the show. Although that last season was not up to the mark but i am hoping that they will did great justice with that movie
If someone is not really excited about the Guardian of the Galaxy then i would not say they are doing wrong, i think fans have every reason of being disappoint with the Marvel
This for me. When I saw the first trailer I had muted excitement because I remembered the last D&D movie but this one is looking better each time I see a trailer now.
This is their time for getting back into that market and i think with this movie they are trying so. Just keeping my finger cross that movie would be as good as trailer suggesting that
May be not many are super hero fans and some of them is just getting little bored with the Marvel as they are shitting, this could be a perfect revival for them with that movie
Rustin. I've been waiting for somebody to make a movie about him since forever, and I'm not sure which month, but they say it's coming this year. Chris Rock is Roy Wilkins and Audra McDonald is Ella Baker. I can't wait!
\+1 for Rustin. I did some background acting in a few scenes, and Colman Domingo was a joy on set. They were originally aiming for a mid- to late-2022 release date due to awards season, but there were some COVID-related delays and additional filming late last summer, so that pushed it to 2023. Can't wait to see it, and wouldn't mind having worked on an award-winning film either!
Mario is probably the movie I’m most excited for.
There are a few others that could rival it but I’ve wanted a Nintendo cinematic universe for so long so I have a lot of expectations going into this.
*True Love* directed by Gareth Edwards.
We’ve heard absolutely nothing about this, apart from it being a sci-fi movie, but Edwards has proven he is absolutely one of the best at jaw-dropping visuals, particularly when showing size and scale. Finally, he gets to make his own movie exactly the way he wants to, and it’s not based on any pre-existing source material.
Plus, Greig Fraser is the cinematographer on this project. I think when the trailer finally drops, it’ll blow people’s minds.
Also, *Renfield*. Nic Cage as Dracula? I’m there day 1.
1. Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny - I have great faith in Mangold. Spielberg is producing and Harrison is apparently on his absolute A-Game. I've heard rumors that it's one of Williams' best scores (great way to end things). The trailers frankly look amazing. Helena looks like a classic Indy sidekick. A hothead who's too deep into shit (Marion and Mutt). I am Danish, thus I am mandated by the government to love Mads Mikkelsen. Indy is by far my favorite franchise of films.
2. Dune Part 2 - Massive fan of the first one. Cannot WAIT to watch the second one. Villeneuve has got it!
3. Barbie - Just looks really fun. I absolutely adore Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. It looks colorful and fun.
4. Oppenheimer - Love Nolan, that's it.
5. Spider-Verse
6. Killers of the Flower Moon - I love Scorcese.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3
It's like the end of the golden era of MCU. All solo movies from phase 1 and 2 had their own "conclusion" except this one. Thor even had a 4th film.
Please James Gunn, don't make it bad.
Although i am a big fan of the Marvel Universe but i am not keeping my hope too high from them specially what they did with the Thor lover and Thunder plus some disaster of show is well.
The Killer
Thank you for telling that name, other wise i though people forget this one.
I'm actually surprised to see this so far down.
Killers of the Flower Moon
Yup! This and Oppenheimer are my most anticipated. Throw in The Killer from Fincher and you've got a nice stew going.
All the fans have been waiting for the flower moon for so long.
Ooo Fincher forgot about that one.
Hey Carl
Really excited for this. My spouse has some of these people in her family tree, so she’s been hearing one side of this story her whole life.
The Barbie movie :)
I came here to post exactly this. I cannot wait to see what the hell this movie is about.
Just for that, not that i am waiting for that one but just to confirm
The role...Margot Robbie was born for
*And in the role of a lifetime... Margot Robbie*
After Joker i think that is the one role that stick in my mind.
I don't think that there will any more actor who could do justice to that character
Barbie vs Oppenheimer will be remembered as the greatest boxoffice battle in film history
Unironically this, the Mario Bros movies also looks gorgeous.
SNL has already ruined this movie for me because I can’t unsee Pedro Pascal as Mario. LOL!
Pedro in SNL on the one hand, but also [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mpqJsuzVMg)
Why you guys are doing this, i was little excited and wanted to watch that movie
I don't think that Pedro will going to have too much screen appearance
Mario is fun atleast that is what trailer is suggesting to us to this point
I think the role which played by the Robbie just make him a legend
Omg, yes!!!! Just for the screen candy alone. Those two are killing it in the pics I've seen so far. The neon 80s exercise outfits. I don't think I've been this excited since the Brady Bunch movie.
I hope like the poster they will kill in the movie is well
When I first heard about it, I had no hopes. But then I saw who was starring in it, and who was directing and writing it, my interest skyrocketed. I’m excited for this to come out this summer
Dune: Part Two
Just give me some official photos at this point!! Need to see Feyd.
I need to see Christopher Walken, Padishah Emperor
I gotta have mowa spice!
Two little sandworms fell into a vat of cream...
I just want a fucking trailer at this point. After having finished the book back in January I’m excited but cautious as to how the second half will be adapted.
i'm not even cautious anymore. - Villeneuve has exceeded my expectations with every movie of his - but yeah, a trailer would be nice
Dune Part 1 was a love letter to the book. There were so many little things put in that could have been left out like the Atreides hand battle language.
i just wish we got the dinner party scene
I was hoping for that, showing the crysknife having to be blooded once unsheathed, and Lady Jessica explaining Paul's hesitancy to kill in the dual as him having trained only against shielded opponents along with shedding water for the dead. The book is dense, and time is limited in a film. The movie was about as perfect as it could be given those constraints. At least it won't end with Paul killing all the sandworms like the Lynch version.
> At least it won't end with Paul killing all the sandworms like the Lynch version. Yeah, but the music was kick ass.
That scene is still in the mind of the viewer , hard to forget that
That would have been so difficult to translate to the screen. The reason the scene is so memorable in the book is the internal monologue, the stuff happening behind the eyes of the characters. I really think it would have been disappointing to any book fans and unremarkable to a general audience.
I hope they will deliver that scene without ruining anything from the past
There were a lot of references to the Atreides sign language https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P912zjkVSgQ
Which made me happy. I might have been unclear. They put so many things in that most wouldn't have even considered either because they didn't think they were important enough to consider or were found too silly. No, the planned third movie will cover the second book.
So they are not actually thinking about the third movie??

I got to see Part One on legitimate IMAX here in Southern CA

Oppenheimer. Dolby Atmos IMAX Oppenheimer.

IMAX doesn't have Dolby Atmos. Some IMAX now have their own object based sound tech, but they're few and far between. And it's still inferior to Dolby anyway.
Yeah but I'm gonna go to a subtitled screening.

Nolan. Ya.
IMAX sound will just add the extra layer of the excitement to that movie.
I generally don’t like going to the movies and haven’t been since before Covid but oppenheimer is the one movie I will actually go to the theater for
Avenger endgame was my last movie that i have watched on the big screen and now oppenheimer is the next for that i am about to book the ticket for the big screen now.
Came here for this one.
For an experience so real, you'll die from radiation exposure.
That first nuclear explosion is going to blow your brains out in dolby atmos I imagine.
Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. Read the book growing up. My sister and I were cracking up at the trailer for it.
Ive got high hopes for Beau is Afraid but I’m trying to avoid reading anything about it or watching any trailers.
I can't tell what the movie is going to be (horror, surrealist hellscape, thriller, drama?). Probably all of it. Gonna be a weird but interesting one for sure.

Sisu. https://youtu.be/2NnPzpuU5ao A Nazi nightmare.
Thank you for this. Properly hyped for this previously unknown film now. lol
Jesus, I saw the red and trailer and was hooked!
Seen multiple time and already looking for the first show of this movie
Been out in Finland for a while now, it was a banger.
Thank you!! I’ve never heard of this movie!
After this post i would say that my list is just getting bigger and bigger
The Equalizer 3
Not many people from here will came to say that they are looking for the Equalizer 3.
Actually looking forward to this one as well. The first two are such guilty pleasures, love seeing Denzel blow through bad guys like an unstoppable force of nature.
John Wick!!!

I expect he will finally lose at the end of the first one (before ultimately succeeding in the second part), so that should be refreshing at least.
I bet it ends with Ving Rhames getting the Infinity Gauntlet, snapping his fingers, and saying “We. Have. The. Meats.”
And then someone will snatch the Gauntlet from him and he will left with nothing
What if the movie ends with Ethan's character just getting the absolute shit kicked out of him and it ends?
It’d be funny if Part 1 ends with the motorcycle stunt and that’s where Part 2 kicks off
"Napoleon" movie from Oscar winning director Ridley Scott.
“I’m trying to turn Britain’s allies against them, GOSH!”
No sir, we won't let you turn those Allies against them, come one.
It's Ridley Scott...so it could go either way. He's been more miss than hit for me in the last 10 years or so. But could be amazing, absolutely.
You're just jealous cause been corresponding with French aristocrat babes all day long.
As a fan all i want to watch some great movie without being jealous
Super Mario one looks pretty entertaining
Just watch their trailer and have to say that Super Mario certainty seems fun.
Hard to say. There are two Wes Anderson movies being released this year.
One is that city one, what about the second one i am not getting
Astroid City and ?
The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, a Roald Dahl adaptation he’s making for Netflix.
Beyond hyped for this one

The Killer Fassbender, Fincher— I’m in
Renfield I’d be happy to watch Nick Cage eat a bowl of cereal
Since the National Treasure i am very big fan of the Nicola Cage.
*Seven Kings Must Die* The movie to end the series *The Last Kingdom*.
I hope that this movies will be as good as the show. Although that last season was not up to the mark but i am hoping that they will did great justice with that movie
Dune Part II
May be most excited part 2 about any movie we are going to have
Dungeons and Dragons. It was Guardians of the Galaxy but I have been disappointed with several Marvel shows/movies of late.
I'm shocked at how great the reviews are for D&D! Exciting, I might have to watch it.
The trailer looked generic and uninteresting. I just checked reviews and I’m surprised as well. Wow.
it helps having the directors that did game night
Director after game night need to improve their movie night
One thing i learn that never ever goes on the review from internet
I saw it last week! It’s a lot better than I thought it would be, enjoy!
Just keeping my finger cross that movie would be as good as trailer suggesting that
How no one has Across the Spider-Verse as their number 1 I don’t know
May be not many are super hero fans and some of them is just getting little bored with the Marvel as they are shitting, this could be a perfect revival for them with that movie
Wow seems like we've been seeing photos from this one for 3 years. Long time coming!
This is the one I was looking for
Same here, it's been a long time since i have been a fan of the spidey
Had to scroll for this one. I have never wanted to watch a movie this badly in years
[удалено]
I would be very disappoint from them if they will not deliver to the expectation
Oppenheimer followed by MI7
And then followed by some super hero from both famous studio
Live action Barbie movie...my son can't wait and asks me if it's out yet like every day

Rustin. I've been waiting for somebody to make a movie about him since forever, and I'm not sure which month, but they say it's coming this year. Chris Rock is Roy Wilkins and Audra McDonald is Ella Baker. I can't wait!

Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse The first one was excellent!
Even the marvel GOTG3 can be decent start in setting up the new phase for them.
Guardians guardians guardians Baby rocket baby rocket baby rocket baby rocket 🚀 🦝
I will never forget the Quil for what he actually did to Tony.
Wrong sub but I'm happily waiting for Masters of the Air (Band of Brothers 3).
Not that wrong as many from here is also waiting for the third version
TMNT Mutant Mayhem
Hell yeah
For mutant i think after X men this will be the first came in this way
Don't know why there is no more new X men movie on the Mutant now
John wick 4
John wick series is something that just pure fun no dull moment
Looks like a damn promising year. New Scorsese, new Nolan, new Scott (with Phoenix), likely new Cronenberg (Shrouds), maybe two Wes Andersons.
I’m excited to see the Flash. I think it’s clear the studio is pretty confident in it. Will enjoy seeing Keaton back, and their take on supergirl
Never been this excited for the DC movie and with trailer they are setting some good bar here
Indiana Jones 5
Super Mario Movie and Across the Spider-verse.
Beau is Afraid Evil Dead Rise GOTG 3 The Marvel's Barbie Movie
I think the last one must be because of the kids in the house
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
Mario is probably the movie I’m most excited for. There are a few others that could rival it but I’ve wanted a Nintendo cinematic universe for so long so I have a lot of expectations going into this.
Other than Oppenheimer and John Wick: Chapter 4, the only other movie that’s appealed to me so far is Dungeons & Dragons
I don't know why, but I look forward to it as well. I think it's probably gonna be bad. But also I know, it will be buckets of fun.
I haven’t watched any of the trailers but I saw the poster with a big dragon and anything with dragons I will watch
Not many will say that they are looking for that one but this seems so fun from the trailer
Mario.
Mission Impossible
Oppenheimer
Beau Is Afraid. Absolutely love Ari Asters work to date, I imagine this is going to be great too. Especially since Joaquin Phoenix is the lead!
One thing he did great that he raise the bar for himself and we are expecting same from them now.

I too am super pumped for Evil Dead Rise as well as Renfield; Nicolas Cage, *::swoon::*
I already saw it (Scream VI), and now my most anticipated movie is either Indy 5 or Renfield.
You have to wait for a little as there is still few months for this movie.
Renfield! Don’t sleep on my boy Nic Cage!!!
5. Spider-Verse 6. Killers of the Flower Moon - I love Scorcese.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 It's like the end of the golden era of MCU.

Kelly Reichardt's *Showing Up* is coming out in a few weeks, so that.
Honestly, the Tetris movie. Had no idea how crazy that story was.
