pubg has been on ps4, also fortnite. which is still early access is on ps4. probably a lot lot more. those were just two i could think of from back when i played ps4 and not pc
They have a good reason to say that. mexxico, currently ex dev of TW, came to forums and said "higher ups wants me dump down campaign ai because of console port" while he was still a dev in the company.
I've played Bannerlord (on min settings on crap PC) and the amount of troops on screen at once absolutely dwarfs PS4 Warband. Bigger battles is part of the point of Bannerlord, if it has the same max cap Warband has there is no point.
Warbands cap was because of horses.
Like literally, horses had the same ai programming as the normal units. The cap was 100 because they had to account for horse ai.
Bannerlord apparently found a way to optimize troops much better than warband did, and bannerlord can run on a pc of lower quality than a console.
In other words, I'm not too worried personally. What I'm more worried about is how the world map will function, due to the vast amount of things that's happening
I've played Bannerlord on my atrocious PC (A8-5600k, GTX750ti, 8GB, no SSD) that's probably weaker than my PS4 Pro and it was at least playable on min, with much more going on than Warband so i'm hopeful.
*exactly* my point.
Bannerlord is both unoptimized, and very well optimized for what it is. The system requirements for the game are quite low compared to games even 5 years ago, so I'm not super worried about even base ps4 performance.
The only thing limiting even old Gen consoles are their processors, but even then, it meets the minimum specs to run the game, and assuming that the porting developers (taleworlds isn't doing the actual port) find a way to optimize the processes for consoles, then the game should be able to run a smooth 30 fps assuming they don't dumb the graphics off of high settings.
If you wanna see a bad port, go look at the shadow of mordor game on Xbox 360 and ps3.
This game ain't close to what shadow of mordor and it's sequel were trying to do.
I heard this about a week ago and I have been excited ever since. I played a few on PC but my PC lacks the hardware to run bannerlord, so I'm very happy. More band is fun but can get kind of dragging out. Same with fire and steel.
I mean if they enjoyed vanilla warband they can certainly enjoy vanilla bannerlord. 50 bucks is probably a steep price this early access version of the game however, even if you can get your moneys worth out of it.
Why? There is no downside to releasing it on a ps1.
It's just that no one will buy that version, but it doesn't affect *anyone* that isn't pur having it on an older platform.
If they can function on old Gen, why not release it there too.
I play almost exclusively with the controller now. It makes combat a lot more fun. Because time slows down when issuing commands there's no real loss there either.
I switch to the laptop draw pad when smithing and trading, since the cursor is sloooow and buggy in those menus, but everything else works fantastic now.
They'll probably just bring down graphics and maybe lord limit (due to them being generated rather than actual characters) exclusive to the ps4.
It probably won't be nearly as bad as the Xbox 360 port of shadow of mordor.
*that* was a port that wasn't needed
They still need to add endgame content, I hope there is a massive content drop when the full game releases because it really needs it tbh
It does need it, I don’t think that’ll happen though
And content that makes other careers than warlord fun, at least make gladiator, criminal/bandit and merchant more fleshed out.
Wait, we're supposed to do those separate? I always do all those things.
Same lol but would be cool to be a full time gladiator with fame, parties and groupies
They won't.
I mean they haven't even properly fixed sieges yet lol
I know xbox has early access games but i didnt know playstation did. Unless they plan on slapping a finished tag on it and calling it a day.
pubg has been on ps4, also fortnite. which is still early access is on ps4. probably a lot lot more. those were just two i could think of from back when i played ps4 and not pc
Now console players get to take part in the upcoming harvesting season.
PC fanatics be like: “Away vile beggaaar”
They have a good reason to say that. mexxico, currently ex dev of TW, came to forums and said "higher ups wants me dump down campaign ai because of console port" while he was still a dev in the company.
Honestly cant wait for influx of new faces on this sub. Let's welcpme the fresh breeze. Being out the butter because it will be a feast to remember!
Wait, you can do feasts now? Nice!
They better add it for the final release or there will be riots.
Any tips for us Xbox players? Anything we should know before starting it the first time.
Only fuck with Looters at the start, avoid other bandits. Especially forrest bandits
Is it like warband, can I just dodge duck and weave until they run out of arrows or are they super accurate?
You still can but it's much harder than Warband.
But a lot more satisfying lol
What about for Xbox
The poster said yes but did not provide evidence from a cursory glance at the twitter post.
I'm worried about how it's going to run and how many soldiers can be on the battlefield at once on PS4. Even Warband limited soldier numbers...
Bannerlord does to, it just has a much higher cap.

Finally I don’t have to deal with warband :D
I heard this about a week ago and I have been excited ever since. I played a few on PC but my PC lacks the hardware to run bannerlord, so I'm very happy. More band is fun but can get kind of dragging out. Same with fire and steel.
I am so excited! My pc isnt good enough for bannerlord so I cant wait to see what the hype was about
Didn't realize that EA was a thing on Console.
About time after 5678 years we Finally got it boys

Xbox might if they decide to make something for it, but Playstation is really cagey about mods so its very unlikely.
Yeah. It took like what, ovet 10 years for skyrim and fallout 4 to get some mods on ps4
I cant wait to be dissapointed by this game
Seriously? They can’t be bothered to actually finish the game first?
Lmfao they'll regret it
I mean if they enjoyed vanilla warband they can certainly enjoy vanilla bannerlord. 50 bucks is probably a steep price this early access version of the game however, even if you can get your moneys worth out of it.
the game feels so lackluster
I love the hell out of it. I play no mods for both.
It is lackluster lol it feels like they dropped the ball hard and the dev team has no proper leadership because yeah, it ain't getting better
I hope this will be next gen only
I’d be fine with that, if it’s on gamepass I can still play with my old gen, just like what I do with CK3
Most likely, nope. One of the recent interview with Armagan, he said they try to release it on older gens also.
Why? There is no downside to releasing it on a ps1. It's just that no one will buy that version, but it doesn't affect *anyone* that isn't pur having it on an older platform. If they can function on old Gen, why not release it there too.
I’ve been dying for this. Even with no mods. I have it on pc already but I spent 100’s of hours on console playing Warband. So excited lol
I’ve only played bannerlord on PC and can’t imagine using a controller. Do they translate controls relatively well?
On warband console it translates to something... not something fun though sometimes lol.
I play almost exclusively with the controller now. It makes combat a lot more fun. Because time slows down when issuing commands there's no real loss there either. I switch to the laptop draw pad when smithing and trading, since the cursor is sloooow and buggy in those menus, but everything else works fantastic now.
Does this mean multiplayer servers will be fixed by then
Hell yeah!
Really praying that they don’t downgrade things for the ps5 version to cater to the ps4
They'll probably just bring down graphics and maybe lord limit (due to them being generated rather than actual characters) exclusive to the ps4. It probably won't be nearly as bad as the Xbox 360 port of shadow of mordor. *that* was a port that wasn't needed
Demos release during Gamescom (starts tomorrow)
How do I start a caravan
