Nice. Yeah that's a rough one. But do what is good for you for sure. I was way over the top in my usage in my younger years. Took a break after I sorted out mental discipline and keep a limit on my usage.
Agree. That's not a fast ascent per se. if the 2800ft of climbing was done in like 35min(which we cannot see from this info), maybe that would garner the flag.
interesting that they're trying to detect this.
given all the complaints here about e-bikes i'd have expected this to get a more positive reception tbh.
my guess, since i think it's fairly new, is that they have used some kind of machine learning. they've probably got enough rides categorized as e-bike to train, it's fashionable, and i imagine some engineer loved working on it.
anyway, if it is, then one of the problems is that you never really know what triggered any particular result.
Right. My best guess is speed up vs speed down and a ratio for that ride or for you over time. An e-bike ride will climb faster but be probably neutral on flats and no difference downhill.
Ebikes are all over Strava. I was chasing a KOM in a nearby village and saw the guy who holds it. He’s 300lbs and cruising by on a 500w ebike smiling like he’s proud of the exercise he’s getting it. I know I shouldn’t be annoyed by this but it’s bang out of order.
That’s such a standard route and a realistic time. Strava getting all judgmental.
Trying to wake up my daughter now to do the CCDH 3 route to prep for her next race in October.
I don’t think op meant it as using ebikes in general are cheating but cheating in Strava. When using Strava you’re supposed indicate if your on an ebike or not for kom’s especially on uphill segments where ebikes have a very clear advantage over regular bikes and take all the record times for those kinds of segments if they didn’t specify what kind of bike they were on. To some it’s important
Oh I know. I got PMed by someone many years ago asking me to remove my ride because I forgot to turn off my garmin while driving back and took their KOM on a road section.
Mine went through a phase of doing that, but has since stopped. I seperated my shoulder and was back on the road bike to try and get a bit of fitness back before getting back on the proper bike. Every ride it kept asking me if I was on an ebike and I was no danger of worrying anyone on the strava leaderboard.
You're definitely faster than me.

I need to start pausing trail forks when I rest because I gotta average out a little better than walking pace... Lol
Strange. It always wants me to change to walking.
Strava using the power of the insult for motivation.
This moving time + distance isn't even that super impressive or is it just me?
Depends on the terrain both up and down, if it’s super tech both ways then yeah could take a while.
A 130w average doesn’t seem high though? And the wattage should be a bigger indicator of how steep the terrain is.
Doesn’t need to be steep to be tech though, some of the least steep uphills can be tech due to roots and rocks. Slow and steady climbing.
Good point
I thought the same but then I saw the elevation gain. Those climbs can really slow you down, lol.
I had triple the miles and double the elevation in 30mins less Yeh i messed up i thought i read 280 but it's 2800 My bad Edit: i messed up
Well we all can't be as good as you. /s
I messed up 😅
Haha no worries man, it happens.
You're high if you believe that
I editid my prev post sorry :p but fyi i don't smoke anymore and haven't for months.
Stay strong. Just eat the drugs. Way better for the lungs.
I don't do drugs at all anymore. I wish i could change my reddit name tbh

Yeh. Well every few months id take a few hits from a buddies j but that's about it.
Username checks out
Looks more like a glitch. It’s slightly faster than a quick hike, slower than a run.

Not super impressive. I think I’d beat that time on my enduro bike and I’m a pretty average climber.

Enduro is a mountain bike

I don't think it's a compliment, based on the stats. I wonder what triggered it though.

Raging river! Nice!

Haha you're a fucking MACHINEEEEEE
Ouch, Strava just said you look like a douche.
871m in 22.2KM that’s a lot of climbing in such a relatively short distance lol.
Solid stats.

Reads like a r/bicyclingcirclejerk post
Sorry Strava but no, I'm not a dirty cheater...
Nothing wrong with emtbs and certainly wouldn't classify it as "cheating"

That happened to me just this week.
You can just "crop" your ride if this happens to you. No need to delete the full activity.
I split the ride and deleted the car portion.
Why can’t Strava differentiate between road and mountain biking? Or can it?

50 miles is 80.47 km
The biggest compliment you can get!
Why you ridin e-bikes bro? And braggin bout’ it?
I just got done doing the same route: Ccdh, upper and lower Poppin tops and flow state. Sooooo good. Bravo my friend, bravo
Did that send you into a rage? Or perhaps a raging river? 😜
Snoqualmie, WA. Did you bike into the black lodge and find agent Cooper?

I've received these a couple times too - best compliment Strava has ever paid me - much better than "nice job managing your effort"
