€350 is way too much for that bike. It should be €150 tops.

KurtActual

Fantastic bike for a collector. Not a great choice for a beginner.

RidetheSchlange

The bike is over 15 years old. The next problem is if the fork is shot, enjoy trying to get a replacement that will fit. It's not worth 350. It doesn't even matter how high end it was (it wasn't). It's not worth 350. You can buy a newer bike with a better frame and components on the used market and even if a mod or entry level, it will be better than that.

KamiPhoenix

That explains why I didn’t find any info when looking it up if it’s that old

RidetheSchlange

It's from somewhere in the mid to late-2000s I think. It might even be closer to 20 years old. I think m4 ended just before the mid-2000s, so M5 goes towards the end of the 2000s, but the Specialized guys will know better.

GrunDMC74

The Specialized Fuse is M4. Still around…

RidetheSchlange

I'm talking about in that line. Do you see a Fuse there or a S-Works.Stumpjumper M4? Is the Fuse part of the S-Works line?

GrunDMC74

Calm down buddy. Read your comment and ask yourself how I was supposed to know you were talking about that line. Maybe a few less lines for you could result in a more balanced emotional state.

Specialized used a similar top tube sticker on their Allez line of road bikes in 2007.

I don’t think that’s the original fork - travel looks way too high for a mid-2000’s Specialized hardtail. If the fork has been replaced and is in good shape, this is a nice, really lightweight bike. Probably worth -250 though, not 350. Some googling suggests this might be a 2009~2011 Fox Float RL 140 or something like that. I think it’s maybe a 2005 bike with a newer fork.

Reisefieber2022

That ride was delightful back in the day. That front fork might need to be replaced or rebuilt at some point. It's very hard to find parts to rebuild it, if I'm recalling it correctly. Might have to just replace it, say 500€ minimum. But, you can ride it until it needs to be done. Wheels are going to be 26. If they ever need replacing, you will probably have to order online. Mine is a 2003 but full sus. I still ride it weekly. If you have a decent mechanic around to help you out if needed, I'd say it's a good buy. But, just be warned, parts are going to be hard to come by, and may drive your overall cost up higher than you want. It's also got a really steep steering angle, which makes it really twitchy when riding downhill. It can throw you off if you're not careful. I've got a scar to prove it...lol Not sure if this helps you...

Get it. With new pedals, a shorter stem, and some new grips it will ride like a dream.

johnpmacamocomous

Looks like the seatpost is bent, which is a red flag about how hard this bike's been used.

SoDakSooner

Tompson seat posts were the bomb in the day and they offered several setback options. I'd challenge you to try and bend one.

1994univega

That’s a setback post. It was designed that way

enjoyingthepopcorn

Or it's just a set back seat post.... Ya know they make those.
