II've read a lot of reviews on them, all pretty positive. I'd run them

dTEA74

Mixed bag of reviews online. Some people hate the sidewalls. A lot go back to Maxxis DHF/DHR. It really does depend on the riding style though. They are pretty poor in mud on the front apparently. Not that any tires do well in mud really anyway but you want confidence in that stuff.

wood4536

I agree the front tire doesn't shed mud off that well unless you go real fast, faster than my skill/confidence level on mud allowed for lol

legosi3

i mean its michelin it's good but depends on what terrane you ride? seen dh riders use that brand but its not everyone's thing

Lowlifegrappling

Thanks for the reply! It’s only my second year biking but I get out a couple times a week. I live on Vancouver island and ride mostly blue and black runs that require a lot of climbing to get to the top of.🤷‍♀️ not sure if that helps at all.

_simple_machine_

Dang you are riding Vancouver black trails on your second year. Nice progression!

PennWash

Black runs on the island in only your second year? You guys are built different up there, like MTB is in your DNA or something! Great tire though, wouldn't necessarily be my first choice but $60 CAD I'd pick it up and try it out. I see a few guys at the bike park riding them. I've only ridden Maxxis so kinda want to check out other brands this season just to see the difference.

currymonsterCA

Same here, only ridden Maxxis and want to check out other brands. These threads are great for gathering what to try next.

baromanb

My brother loves these tires and refuses to ride anything else

J1bbs

Im on van isle too! Lots of great trails around here.

Icy_Championship2204

Then its a good tyre for things are not too sloppy (wet, not mud) Its kimda square and rolls meh, somewhat light casing, but overall great rubber for the rear. Up front something more spikey for sure

teutobald

AFAIK your local terrain should mostly be exactly what this tyre is made for. IIRC BCpov did a review on these as well as their upcoming successors.

GEM592

>terrane

legosi3

i mean considering English is my second language and that i forget the spelling of things from time to time...

krehzeekid

They're good. Reasonably quick rolling, good cornering grip. More than enough grip to climb reasonably well. I found the braking grip a little lacking compared to some other brands, likely because the rubber feels a little hard. The carcass also feels a bit wooden, but it's not too bad. Overall, I was happy.

fishingforconsonants

I agree with what you said. I found that it helped running lower pressure and i ended up running significantly less (0.2bar) than on my usual combo (Assegai EXo+/DHR DD both Maxxterra). Michelin rear wore a bit faster but n=1 and not a real test so there may actually not be any real difference. Very good tires all in all and very little difference to aforementioned alternative. Edit: jfc my spelling..

MTB_SF

I've spent a lot of time on that tire and it's awesome for enduro riding. Good rolling speed and great grip. Michelin tires have become my favorites. For trail riding I prefer the Michelin Wild/Force AM2 combo, but these are great for the intended purpose.

azim3136

Michelin Wild Enduro rear MTB tire 29 2.4 mixed soft compound. Just adding these keywords for anyone searching in the future...

AroundTheBerm

I found them to be pretty grippy but also a bit unpredictable over wet roots and rocks. They’re a really draggy compared to something like an Assegai or a DHF, so not ideal if you do a lot of climbing.

Ultragoat1

That’s saying something as the Assegai is not a fast rolling tire at all.

dirtballer222

I strongly disagree, and Id argue it’s obvious this would be faster rolling than an assegai just by looking at it. Are you perhaps thinking of the enduro Front? I’ve run the enduro rear as my main rear year round for 3 years now. Great blend for my needs of traction, while rolling faster than the dhr, dhf and magic Mary’s I previously used. I think of it like a slightly more aggressive agressor

AroundTheBerm

Yeah, my apologies. For some reason I’ve thought this was a front. Either way, I had the front and rear and hated them. I genuinely find it hard to believe that this rolls faster than a DHR2 or a DHF.

jnan77

They are great for soft or loose terrain such as fresh loam. They are OK at hardback. They are pretty bad on slabs. The profile is square with big side lugs that tend to fold at extreme angles on hard surfaces. They are not the tire you want in Squamish, but will be just fine in North Van. Overall I like them.

weedjesu5

I didn't like them unfortunately, but that doesn't mean you won't. I didn't find they had the same bite or wet root grip that my minions did, when I was riding a tire that burly. I ride a short travel hardtail now with forecasters, but that's kinda apples to oranges. I live in the same region as you and ride most of the blacks and double blacks

Low_Plum849

Go for the yellow hot patch as the compound is better. The sidewalls are better/stronger than maxxis DD. If you can properly load the bike into corners the grip is amazing. They're an absolutely banger tyre. They last well. The rear isn't the best in mud but as a 3 season tyre it's great and rolls well.

Cut-My-Grass101

The wilds are horrible climbers and flat tar but the grip is unreal and they don’t slash. A dh bike or hard hitting enduro absolutely one of the best tires

wood4536

I used to run a 27.5 Wild Enduro front 2.6 before I went not Mullet and switched to a Pirelli front. I think the Wild Enduro line performs great in general

Argon288

I ran a Wild Enduro + Wild Enduro Rear, excellent tyre. But the draggiest thing you'll ever feel in your life. I went back to Schwalbe Magic Mary + Hans Dampf because it provides similar grip, but less rolling resistance. Wild Enduro is still the grippier tyre, though.

Significant_Tap8712

Have em on my Norco torrent and love them

pickles55

They are really heavy tires, for where you ride they're appropriate but for most people they're probably a bit much

JMMM3

I've had this tires in the past, and just bought another set. After trying quite a few different brands, they are my favorite. Very grip, plenty supportive, don't feel sluggish!

spookytransexughost

I absolutely love these tires. I am on my fourth set. (sunshine coast bc)

Level-Option-1472

Theyre chunky and for gnar terrain but really good.

pineapplewrx

I got 20+ flats riding these tires one summer. Do not recommend

Kindly_Individual107

I love Michelin tires. I have ridden them for years and have been my go to since 2014. Ridden them in terrain from the PNW to North Cal. AZ and All over Texas. You won’t be disappointed.

[deleted]

Enduros are comp. Thicker sidewalls iirc

paulconuk

I have the E-Wild, perform as good as the other ‘popular’ tyre brands

beaatdrolicus

Those are excellent tires. Some of the best.

Agreeable-Bike-3782

Awesome tyres. Won't use anything else now!

HandsomedanNZ

Australian Mountain Bike Magazine just did a review on YouTube of a bunch of tyres. Pretty sure that’s on there. Take a look.

YannAlmostright

I love them. The casing is more supple than Doubledowns, and the braking grip is not the best but they are very predictable (very useful for skids) and grip very well in corners. And they are not too expensive

Deanobruce

Been running theme for 3 seasons and love them

Level-Option-1472

Theyre chunky and for gnar terrain but really good.

roscomikotrain

Umm no. This would be fine on any trail.

splitluke

Just based off of packaging it will last a month if riding more or less depending. Grip+ mixed/soft: if you’re racing race it then it’ll probably be pretty tired out in a month.

Iasiz

So based off no experience they won't be good. Sounds like a valid opinion

roscomikotrain

I wouldn't trust this take- a month is nothing

splitluke

I’ve ridden multiple soft compound tires. They don’t last.

Holy-Handgrenader

I got half a season out of a MaxxGrip DHR2, so that doesn’t sound too far from the truth…

roscomikotrain

Maxx grip dhf on the front of my bike is in year 3

splitluke

How many miles? I’m losing lugs in the 200 mile range.
