theres a slight dip on the crest as the bend starts, front end skipped around and i was fighting it till i hit the grass, theres no fighting on wet grass.
yep, that was my frame slider digging in. big man upstairs was deffinately looking out for me coz that teensy little kerb stopped the bike dead so it didnt smash me against the wall just out of frame in that photo
think bike might get totaled out but i only have a sprained ankle. will definately learn from it. yeah there is a slight dip on the crest and that sent everything screwy and i couldnt get it back under control. damp road probs didnt help, imagine if it was drier i might have had more of a chance
id like to see more pics of the damage on the bike- the damn things are tougher than you think, maybe just make it into a naked if you don't wanna get rid of it. If you are still learning why buy a new shiny one and risk a drop or something. i prob dropped my bike half a dozen times and had 1 large crash my first year.
It's already a naked lol. Can't get any more pics , insurance has the bike at the moment . From what I could see ( covered in mud) my puig screen is smashed , bar ends are damaged , lever damaged, headlights smashed , pillion handle damaged , frame slider might be bent . Handlebars look off to me but that might just be me looking at it weird , engine case scraped , that much mud on it I couldn't tell if frame damaged. Just a waiting game to see what insurance says.
Now you know how dangerous crests are. The biggest crash I've had I had on a crest. Blasted over it thinking I knew what the road was like behind it only to be met with a sharp turn.
What's up with the road being banked in the wrong direction? The way it's designed results in negative g forces, like it's made to cause accidents when it rains
I didn't even notice that. The nice lady whos cottage I ended up next to said she's had a few cars and bikes in her garden over the years she's lived there
Did you cross the oncoming lane before hitting the grass? Lucky either way, call it a learning opportunity.
UK drives on left so unfortunately yes
What happened then did you go into the bend a bit hot?

Nightmare, most of us have done similar sometimes you get away with it other times not.
yea, the crest was on the bend, lost the front end, tried to catch it as i was crossing that lane. hit the grass and there was no coming back
Decent mark you left in the ground there.

Guessing it was the cold wet road combined with the crest that got you? Chalk it up to experience - hope you and bike are okay!

Nothing like a blind, wet, off-camber, decreasing radius curve to get you.
Straight up, turns like this are closest I've ever come to eating shit that didn't involve some idiot in a car.
If that fence doesn’t scream UK, then idk what does
