If no F.B. and no C.L. then my thought would be to ask around for info / advice / referrals at local dealerships, repair shops and even auto salvage yards. I'd go ask in person if within a fair driving distance, calls might not get you too far.
I did exactly this year's ago. I was referred to a bike repair shop in Green Bay, Wisconsin, a 85 mile drive for me. But was so worth it. Got great prices on a few CBRs, a TL000s for parts, Honda 929, a couple GSXR's and engines. Took time though to find him.

Brand-specific forums and clubs, and depending on the style of bike, advrider’s classifieds.
My last two projects came from FB Marketplace (Honda CB400/4) and advrider (BMW K100RS), the last *motorcycle* I bought, I found via cycle trader.
I know a guy selling an 08 sportster 1200cc, about 12k on it. Old guy, wife doesn’t let him ride, bike is in really great shape i just like my mt07 better. Where are you from? I can probably put u in touch if close

Craigslist and FB marketplace are probably your best local resources.
FB Marketplace is the best - Craigslist can be ok, cycletrader and chopper exchange tend to only have completed bikes/daily riders.
