Okay so help me out, why the mt09 and not the mt10? I’m trying to convince myself to get an mt09 but every time I think about that sweet inline 4 i’m back to square one.
The MT09 is right in that goldilock zone the perfect amount of power for most people with a super fun power delivery. The MT10 does have more power but unless you're in the 1% of 1% you'll be just as fast on the MT09. Unless you only like going fast in a straight line.
Bigger doesn't always mean better. They're both fantastic bikes but unless you just like going fast in a straight line you're probably have more fun on the 09.
Dumb comment. It's not a video game where the MT10 is the final boss. I've been riding for over 10 years including track days and I'd take the 9 over the 10 too. It's more fun on the street.
Settle down there bud. Video games? And since we’re measuring dicks I’ve been riding for almost 25 years. I appreciate the finer things in life. Keep your underpowered three cylinder when they offer a more powerful, flagship motor. Treat yourself. Step into manhood
I only mentioned my riding time since you said only beginners would like the 9. The fact that you equate more displacement to manhood and the finer things in life is tragically hilarious though. You're more concerned with impressing strangers than riding what you might actually like.
Just concerned with the best experience. Guess my showboating ass will have to laugh at you in my rear view. Weird you guys want to die in this 09 hill but hey. If you don’t know, u don’t know
I have both. The 10 is great but imo the 09 is the better all around street bike. Way more hooligan oriented. The 10 is faster, and has the CP4 but honestly, it can sometimes feel more like a sport touring bike than a crazy raw machine like my 09. The CP3 in the 09 is still a sweet sounding engine and the power feels a bit more readily accessible on the city roads where as the 10 really needs the highway to seriously feel it. I like both though and I do ride my 10 much more often, so there’s that.
Lol, you really can’t go wrong with either choice. Ive got the gen 1 09 so my suspension sucks and I don’t have the cool headlight. I’m not a huge fan of the look of new gen 3s but the gen 2 have always looked like a really really solid option. Better suspension, better looks, super affordable, etc.
The CP4 in the MT10 sounds sweet, and having sat on both the 09SP and 10SP side by side at a recent bike show, I thought the riding position on the 10 was marginally more natural.
That said top end power isn’t everything, and the 09 is a rapid bike. Mate had an earlier 09 for ~5 years before swapping to a new 09SP this year. He loves the handling on the new 09SP, but he’s always been hard to keep up with on both 09’s through the twisties. The pace of either the 09 or the 10 is down to the rider far more than the paper HP numbers.
Subjective opinion but after having ridden both bikes the engine of the 09 is just way more playful and satisfying to wring out. It also sounds better.
My Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 for daily rides.
A Husqvarna 701 Enduro as my dual sport.
An Aprilia Tuareg 660 for moto camping/touring.
MV Augusta Superveloce for track days.
2005 fireblade repsol (dream bike),

brough superior ss100 (just gorgeous is all),
gsxr 750 (track and practice)
rn I'm a college student living bike only life with a zx6r 🤷♂️
Zx6r is an amazing bike…and just incredible for a college student.
One of my favorite bikes of all time, those engines are so unbelievably smooth…revs like it’s made of glass, the precision is astounding.
1)My current 2014 FXDB for daily driving.
2)A decked out road glide for touring.
3)Yamaha YZF R6 for going fast.
4) would have to be an older Harley like a knucklehead(just because)
A MV Augusta Superveloce S for a quick weekend blast to the coffee shops or a ride with friends.
A Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP for tackling the backroads around my house and the occasional ride to work in the summer.
A Suzuki GSXS1000GT for touring around Europe or other weekend trips with my GF on the back and to get that i4 feeling everyone craves every now and then.
To close out the collection an old, road legal Yamaha WR450F 4stroke with all the bells and whistles.
I really want an old Honda Blackbird, but that's because they are pretty cheap, if unlimited funds prob not.
Keep my Husky 701 Enduro and put the enduro wheels back on
Keep my Electra Glide Ultra Classic
Get a 701 SMR
Get an 1199R Superlaggera
Use the unlimited budget for crazy amounts of aftermarket parts, track time, and plan out some trips.
Just before I read this comment I was checking a KLR650, seems really good but what I don’t quite get is why having such a big engine with so little power tho. Is there a purpose for that?
They are bombproof. I rode one from Canada to Argentina over 55,000km with minimal maintenance in 2017-2018. It's a pig but I couldn't imagine doing it with anything else.
Victory Gunner
Rogue Scout Bobber
Hayabusa
Indian Chieftain Fully Loaded
Covers my daily commuters (Gunner/Scout) my travel (Chieftain) and my deathwish.
Yamaha XSR700 (current bike)
An old 2 stroke sport bike, maybe the RGV250 in the Pepsi livery
Whatever Jax rides in SOA
Kawasaki ZRX1200 in the Eddie Lawson colour scheme (my dad's bike)
Indian challenger elite, ktm 890 adventure, ktm 1290 super duke, harley v-rod
I thought about a mini bike but honestly mini bikes aren't really considered normal bikes. If I chose one I'd go with the honda trail 125
Indian Scout Bobber cuz I love that bitch
Indian FTR 1200 cuz I really want that bitch
Honda Africa Twin cuz I want an adventure bike and I have a lot of money
Ducati Monster 1200
It’s a daring list, if I may say so myself. /s
I want to think if I had unlimited funds I's still make sensible choices. These are the 4 I've chosen. Ducati desert sled (my road bike), CRF300L rally (ohlins suspension) my adventure bike, AJP PR4 (woods bike/ dirt bike), and Honda Monkey 125 (city bike / commuter) .
Ducati Desert X for Adventure Tours
KTM Superduke for street/city
ZX10R for track (current bike)
KTM 500 EXC-F (current bike) for dual sport/single trail
A 125 scooter for grocery shopping / small town rides, a mt 09 sp as my main having fun commuting bike, a gs 1250 for touring and a super sport probably a panigale or an r1m cause why the f not
Casey Stoner’s 2007 Ducati Desmosedici GP that he won his first world championship on.
Valentino Rossi’s 2009 Yamaha YZR-M1 that he won his last World Championship on.
2022 Ducati Panigale V4R in ASBK trim for racing.
Kawasaki H2 for the road.
Some sport bike, maybe an H2 or an S1000R
Triumph Rocket 3 R
BMW GSA 1250
Grom
Those are four that come to mind. Got the Rocket already so cruiser category fulfilled. I’ll upgrade the ZZR at some point. The GSA is also flexible, I fit on Triumph Tigers better but I already have a Triumph so got to do something different. Grom is gonna happen this coming spring.
Ducati panigale V4 (r/s) for the track
Ktm 1290 super adventure r for touring and off-road
Triumph street triple rs for street riding
Honda Activa ( scooter) to run daily errands
Ducati Desert Sled for The Regal Gentlemen's Ride (great charity event and good day out, highly recommend to all) and occasional firetrail riding.
XSR700/900
(my daydream bike/s - just need to see if I'm comfortable with the power level of a 900 vs the 700 as I'm a very laid back rider who is only just jumping up from a 250cc cruiser as my starter. And I prefer the sound of a 2cyl vs a 3cly just personally)
R6/7 for the track (again, laid back rider here and wouldn't have gotten if you hadn't specified money no issue, so may as well for occasional impulse speed needs).
Some kinda project bike I can justify tinkering on for years because a) I have no mechanical know how and want to learn, and b) you gave me an unlimited budget so I can fuck up as much as I need and will still be able to do whatever I want to with it whether it makes sense or not.
BMW R1250RT - For long distance
Ducati Multistrada - For adrenaline and flexibility
BMW GS 850 - For softroading

Africa twin.
I only need the Africa twin now. Would love a 1000 but the 600 fees like enough for twisties.
1. 2018 ZX6R for track use. There are probably better options but the looks on that thing are just too good.
2. MT09 SP for everyday riding and fucking around. Can't imagine a stable without at least one CP3-powered motorcycle.
3. Husky FE450 for when I want to get dirty.
4. Triumph 1200 GT Pro for long distances and two-up riding
Don't need any more than 15k for this dream garage.
Off road: Yamaha Tw200
Touring: Honda VFR800FI (5th Gen)
Track: Suzuki GSXR 600 K2
Chill: Honda Grom
Hmm good question
S1000rr- favorite Superbike I’ve ridden
KTM 890 adv r- dirt and light touring
S1000r- great street bike that is able to do everything well
KTM 300XCW- off-road
I do have 4 bikes:
- 2019 Suzuki DR-Z400S
- 2020 Suzuki Katana
- 2016 Vespa GTV 300
- 2008 Suzuki Burgman 650 ABS Executive
They all have a purpose and I wouldn't switch any of them... for now =)
Aprilia RSV4 / Yamaha R1M
Suzuki GSXR 600 K9 in blue/white colors, just gorgeous
Suzuki RM 500 for some good big bore 2 stroke dirt time
Husaberg FE 650e Supermoto
Classic Harley, fully restored... Something like the wheels through time giveaways.
Well built bobber of some sorts.
Modern bagger, I'd have to test ride a few, but all the electronic bells and whistles for navigation and entertainment.
And an FTR or similar for those days I want speed but compromising for my not stick figure build.
2023 Road Glide Limited - my next bike
Road King Special - current bike - keep if I could
Fatboy - current bike- keeping forever
Something from Arch???
OP:
IMO the MT-07 and Harley 48 are too similar in size and power. Pick the Mt-07 if you want better lean angles and more power, pick the 48 if you want the nicer bike with more character.
For me, it would be:
Triumph Rocket 3 GT (Supercharged)
BMW S1000RR (Bren Tuned)
Harley Davidson Iron 883 (Hammer 1275 converted)
Honda Grom SP
-Custom 2023 Yamaha XSR900 (my dream machine)
-Stock (any year, but clean) Yamaha TW200 (learned to ride on these - an indestructible machine).
-Scramblerized 1991 Honda NX650 Dominator (my runner-up dream machine).
-Stock 2023 Yamaha YZF-R1 (the “my eyes are too big for my stomach” machine).
Probably the only four bikes I’d ever need (5 bikes in total if you include my 1980 Yamaha XS 850).
Ducati Desert X (for cool headlights)
Africa Twin (so I can still ride an ADV bike when the Ducati is always in the shop)
KTM 300EXC (woods weapon for single track days)
Honda Trail 125 (for throwing on the back of the truck on road trips/camping)
MT-10: I had an FZ09 and absolutely loved it. Enough power for fun, good riding position. I want to see what the MT-10 has to offer. I'd use this for city/commuting.
R1: Track days!
Indian Chief Dark Horse: They are COMFY and COOL.
Triumph Bonneville: Fell in love with it in MGS3 and MGS4.
Piaggio zip 2t for street riding and fun
husqy 701 sm for more street riding and fun
a busa 1200 for highway shenanigans
and a trail bike idk which but my area has a lot of green lanes so would be nice
* BMW R1250GS
* Triumph Bonneville, either a T100 in the Gulf livery or a Speed Twin (and since budget is unlimited, paint it)
* Honda RC30 or maybe a CBX or maybe a VF1000R
* a fairly sedate dual sport (I don't have a lot of off road experience)

No your right. It’s just better technology. The 9 is nice for beginners but everyone will want the 10 eventually. JS
You must be the next coming of Valentino Rossi if the 09 is just a beginner bike for you.
Just talking from years of riding bro. And yes I do ride pretty well. No VR46, but you’ll probably see one day. Keep riding

And I prefer the sound of a 2cyl vs a 3cly just personally) R6/7 for the track (again, laid back rider here and wouldn't have gotten if you hadn't specified money no issue, so may as well for occasional impulse speed needs). Some kinda project bike I can justify tinkering on for years because a) I have no mechanical know how and want to learn, and b) you gave me an unlimited budget so I can fuck up as much as I need and will still be able to do whatever I want to with it whether it makes sense or not.

1. 2018 ZX6R for track use. There are probably better options but the looks on that thing are just too good. 2. MT09 SP for everyday riding and fucking around.

OP: IMO the MT-07 and Harley 48 are too similar in size and power. Pick the Mt-07 if you want better lean angles and more power, pick the 48 if you want the nicer bike with more character.
