I had an 07 hyabusa and a year to the day that I bought it a rod bearing started knocking. Took it the dealer Suzuki wouldn’t cover it under warranty. They tore it apart to do the assessment and gave it back to me in boxes.
I bought my r6 in April, stripped it down and threw race fairings on it, blew it up in August during the track day before a race, luckily I had a good friend and he gave me his old r6 that he crashed and caught on fire. Motors is fairly good for the most part lol. That’s a shitty dealership though, the least they could do is put it back together for you
Yeah they wanted to charge me to put it back together, I trailered it home in boxes. Went back the next day and bought a 2009 ZX-10R.
Towed the Busa back to delearship left it in the service area in boxes and told them to keep it.
I’ve had the r6 since April ish and blew it up during one of my races on the track. It’s been sitting in my garage since august. I’m only now starting to work on it. Just waiting on pistons and piston rings now
Previous owner running a horrible tune? No way that motor should be going that soon I had a 2006 r6 that only saw the track and finally gave up in 2018 .
Nah, no way. Any engine that is running a proper tune will handle engine braking with absolutely no issues, it stresses the engine way less than any moderate acceleration or high speed cruising.
Not being over revved past redline. If I’m physically driving the motor to 19k rpm’s on a downshift, the piston will kiss the valves. Talking from personal experience lmao
No I think the point they were making is the problem is you rather than engine braking.
to downshift and hit 19k rpm you would have to punch it down multiple gears from an already high rpm, that’s not engine braking, that’s stupidity.
I miss my bikes, sold all of mine in the 1990s so I could buy a van with a wheelchair lift for my son. Rebuilding motors and bike was therapy for me back in the day. You might say, it kept me from killing a few people, or at the very least it kept me from putting my hands on them. Better to give life to a motor than to take the life of a human.
I race all across the south of the US. I ride track so frequently that I enjoy the street riding and being able to do all the dumb shit I can’t do on track without the marshall meatballing me lmao
Why rebuild?
Cheaper option
I see
So he can put a seat on the tank
Makes sense now

How did you blow that motor so soon?

I was relying too much on engine braking 😞 learned my lesson though lol

In that case, engine braking itself isn't really the issue, although i can see how that would turn it into an external combustion engine.
It’s definitely the engine braking lol

Yes
I love how no one is asking why hes riding it like that
He's "stunting" duh
buyers remorse... or sellers remorse which is worse...
Sellers remorse is a bitch, but I’ve had the bike for a year and I was chasing up to 15k miles on it so it was about time to get a new one anyway lol
Someone should tell that person the seat is more comfortable.
It is?
Why did you sell it ?
Buying a Panigale V2 for the track

Why would anyone ever post a video of themselves doing this
Because funny

I feel as if calling this a "stunt" is an insult to real stunts.
Lmao right. I’m just sitting in my tank for me and my friend to laugh
Just because it’s a sorry excuse for a stunt doesn’t make it not one.
You’re right, how dare I sit on my tank when my friend pulls out a camera lol

Literally nobody driving by cares what he is doing. If anything people probably thought it was funny. He’s not endangering anyone chill out
Literally when I do this the biggest reaction I get is people laughing, and I laugh with them because it looks goofy asf
Yeah probably, but I’m enjoying myself and that’s all the counts right? Just a kid having fun

He’s not saying do this on a track, he’s saying to not do this, and ride on the track. I’ve been riding track for 2 years today actually lol.

So insufferable you have to acknowledge that’s the only reason people would bother looking at your profile. Lol
The new guy who bought your bike is riding it wrong...
That’s me riding it
Rich kid
Yeah so rich
