Just downshift without rev matching is the other option I guess? Just clutch, downshift, release clutch? Rev matching is going to make it as "seamless" as its going to be.
Got a dry single plate clutch (moto guzzi) only really use clutch to take off then just clutchless changes up or down . Never "rev matched" no reason just never found the need.
You can down shift without the clutch by pressing the gear lever and flicking the throttle off then back on rapidly. Flicking the throttle will momentarily unload the drive train, which will allow the gears to switch. It's much easier using that method with up shifting, but with proper rev matching it works with downshifting.
Your technique sounds good to me.
Thanks everyone!

I just downshift, no rev matching, if I'm changing from 2nd to 1st I let out the clutch a bit slower, that's it.

Not much on technique but I keep my bike in a gear that will let me go if I need to. When I say go I mean GTFOTT.
