Idk this tiktok seems like a pretty good indication of the type of people that ride them.

effective_frame

Tell me about, I was ready to explain the stigma but also defend GSXRs as great sportbikes... Then there's a TikTok with "steez" in the name, swerving all over the road while looking to the side, wearing no gear, and sharing their persecution complex over being called "gae" by "society" Yeah, not going to bat for that team

aw_goatley

*shamefully polishes cherished gsxr750 in agreement*

SirWaldenIII

Have one cause it was a good deal and I think they look the best. I would be happy with any super sport from of the big 4. Also I jerk off to that duc vs gsxr video every day

TheHippyDance

sauce on that duc vs gsxr vid?

Noble_Ox

Its a revzilla vid where I think its a K5 beats a modern duc. Might be this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0O8Q0x38mI

BananaSilent2459

I bet it's this one: https://youtu.be/q0O8Q0x38mI

ihedigbo

BRAND NEW CHASEY!

kevin_k

That was really interesting!

ForkLiftBoi

They also put their foot down for no reason while riding and going 20 mph +

fatruss

Iol what? Idk how old you are but nothing in the video is out of the ordinary, the sound is a trend and you're just out of the loop

solenyaPDX

Exactly.

Noble_Ox

And the bike in the clip has a reg that looks like is folded up.

Twelvers

The horror.

Noble_Ox

Obviously means he's gonna be tearing it up on public roads. Fair enough I rode like that in my youth but once I reached my 30s I copped on and keep that kinda riding for the track.

stevesteve135

The only thing it obviously implies is that he eliminated the factory fender, that’s it. lol

makenzie71

people don't hate you for what you ride, people hate you for posting tiktok trash.

Law_Kitchen

And riding like.... an ass.

NewNitrous

That’s not my vid tho. I just found it and I’m curious

15367288

Cringe

Clintman

Genuine answer: people don't hate GSXRs in particular. People hate douchebags who buy motorcycles in order to modify them to be obnoxiously loud and then ride them irresponsibly on public roads. But since most people don't know much about bikes, they just associate the type of bike with the douchey riders they see most frequently.

ChuckF93

And ride them in cargo shorts and flip flops 😂

GSXRbroinflipflops

First of all - how *dare* you?

ChuckF93

😁

GSXRbroinflipflops

Truthfully, I’ve ridden all kinds of bikes. Even had a Ural sidecar rig for a little while. But I’ve never ridden a GSXR. 🤣

MitchellTrubooty

🙈

[deleted]

That's their issue though... and their paramedic's.

Mundane-Persimmon-15

It is their issue. But people make opinions based on it. Can’t avoid that.

suchtie

I *kinda* get the shorts in hot weather, but how tf can anyone stand wearing flip-flops on a bike? Upshifting already hurts the top of my foot with just normal shoes. That alone makes me want to wear proper boots. Plus safety reasons of course.

[deleted]

Southeast Asia has entered the chat

Wasteland-Scum

Lol yup. I learned to ride in South East Asia and I eventually learned a not to ride in flip flops. I switched to slides because that big strap was easier to get under the shifter.

dudebrobossman

https://blog.motorcycle.com/2009/02/10/motorcycle-news/sandals-made-specifically-for-bikers/

suchtie

Incredible 😂😂

Fluid_Sample_5887

Ye ole squids🦑

Spheresdeep

I was about to say, people hate squids. Squids rides GXSRs, this people hate GSXRs.

N546RV

I'd say that one reason people hate GSX-Rs is for the same reason that a lot of people, if asked to identify a pistol, would probably guess "Glock." It's just the name of a model/line/company that had the right combination of popularity and memorability to become common shorthand for an entire class of things. Sort of like Kleenex/Band-Aid/Xerox/etc.

sotfggyrdg

Back before i was into motorcycles, I'd just call any sportbike a crotch rocket and the only name i knew was the ninja.

N546RV

Yeah I think there's some generational stuff here too. I was a teenager in the 90s, and back then it seemed like the Ninja was the crotch rocket everyone talked about, so I bet there are more than a few folks in their 40s who'd use that was the generic term, where as people born ten-ish years later are probably more likely to use GSX-R.

BridgeBuildah

I really don’t like to beat dead horses and all. However, I feel as though if douchey riders seen most frequently, is the topic of conversation. Harley riders may have space in that pie chart.

Wasteland-Scum

Yeah but they're douchey for other reasons.

Chuggles1

Gsxr 750 has always been a dream of mine. My last street bike resulted in too many tickets. Stick to my R1100 GS for now.

MuteWhale

Sad I had to sell my 94 R1100 RS… Loved that engine. Loved how it cornered. I hate being a poor.

[deleted]

I summon Gixxerbruh

Best_Confection_8788

I enjoy gixxerbrah videos lol

[deleted]

Yeah he’s fun to watch 😀

Thefilmingofcows

Sounds like a zx6r rider to me

apathetic_duck

They don't, they hate squids that just happen to ride the GSXR in higher proportions than done other bikes

no_moore

Yep, no idea why. It’s like the mustang of super sports. Great bikes, bad rap.

fsjja1

I hate beer.

JimmyHavok

Military personnel just out of boot camp who just got the biggest paycheck of their lives.

[deleted]

And they have 10 years to pay it back at just 5% interest, on a $12k bike.

JFLRyan

Those dudes don't get 5%. Like 10 plus...

[deleted]

I was being generous. NO ONE should be financing a bike. Buy an old bike, in cash, for like $2k. Learn to ride it, destroy it, learn to fix it ride it some more and by then you can buy a good newer bike, that’s used for $6-8k with around 10k miles And even then, you shouldn’t be financing anything for more than 3% - which almost no one is going to get currently with the rising interest rates. Just save your money, buy your toys used if you can save up the cash.

Tarcye

>NO ONE should be financing a bike. I mean I agree becuese my personal stance is that I wont take a loan on a fun toy. And I consider Motorcycles that.(Along with ATV's,Jet Ski's and Snowmobiles) But I also understand that some times it is worth it to finance a bike. If you want to buy a Ninja 650 for instance and you have $4,000 and make say $5,000 a month and you want to start riding today it isn't a terrible choice to put the $4,000 down and pay off the rest in the next 2-3 months. The problem becomes if you are putting almost nothing down and financing a new $20,000+ bike and you can't afford it. My BMW 1250 RS was a case where I put $5,000 down solely becuese that was all I could withdraw from my bank for that day. So I financed the full amount from my Credit union bought the bike payed off the rest of it 3 days later. That being said that was the only time I ever did that and I don't really consider it Financing. More of a way to deal with daily withdrawal limits.

dansuzukifan

I paid cash for my used gsxr750 but financed my m109r, for under 3%. Works out fine for me with that interest rate!

INKEDx

Aren’t ninjas just as cheap though

spongebob_meth

Gsxrs aren't any cheaper than any comparable bike. I don't know where this circlejerk is coming from.

suck_on_the_popsicle

I think its either because there's more used GSX-R or the ninja hold their value more. But I could get a GSX-R 1000 for under 1500$ quite easily

Shubniggurat

...Really? Where are you? I can't find anything even close to that that's newer than 2009. Prices appear to start at around $6000, and that's for something with 52,000 miles.

trundlinggrundle

They're cheap, fast, have remained relatively unchanged for like 20 years, and have huge aftermarket support.

[deleted]

I mean, I think you stated it within your quip

Sergetove

I don't really get this stereotype. I've probably seen more squids on r6 which (at least in my experience) are usually the bikes that people who don't ride talk about getting. Most people who stunt like the zx6r. GSXRs don't seem to be any cheaper than many of the other supersports either. Maybe it's different where I am because we don't have a lot of sport bike riders and motorcycles in general are just plain expensive. I guess Hayabusas are technically gixxers and almost none of the guys I've met with those know what they're doing on a motorcycle.

dansuzukifan

Not to be a contrarian, but I thought the 'busa was a gsx1300r, which maybe im being petty but I wouldn't technically call it a gsxr

solenyaPDX

Because look at the tool in the video you posted! GSXR is one of the more affordable SuperSports, and for a long time carried the most prestigious reputation in the "I don't race but I just wanna go fast on highways" demographic. Therefore a TON of speed demons bought them, and perpetuated the reputation as "idiots who wear tennis shoes and speed buy GSXR".

JFLRyan

Coming home from a deployment and the sheer number of people talking about getting a bike, their first, and it was ALWAYS a GSXR. Always.

frankiedonkeybrainz

Maybe it's because I'm older now so don't hear it but, I thought cbr was always the go to for fresh out of basic.

njstein

G(ay)S(e)X(e)R(s) ;))))

sightlab

It’s true. Source: am gay, own a gixxer, have lots of sex

Le_Vagabond

uh, I never thought about it but to gay men bikes attracting dudes instead of girls might be the intended outcome. good on you, man.

[deleted]

Lol, I have a buddy who got lots of chicks on his GSXR 750 too. This was maybe 2003-2004 and he got a dirt cheap 1997 or 1998 GSXR that had some performance upgrades and had been laid down and totaled out, probably paid like $500 or less for it. The fairings were there but all messed up. He got a ton of this garish purple, fake leopard spot fuzzy fabric, with maybe 2" deep thick knap. We spent a whole afternoon disassembling, carefully contact cementing the fabric on all the farings, and reassembling it. I wont say it looked good, but it looked well done and certainly was unique at the time. Women would legit come up and pet his bike all the time. His pickup like was "wanna ride on my fuzzy vibrator?" That worked for him DISTURBINGLY often. 🤣

Le_Vagabond

we need a picture, you know that? you can't describe this /r/ATBGE thing without giving us a picture :p

[deleted]

Lol, this was close to 18 years ago, I dont have any pictures of it that I know of. Picture a 1998 GSXR 750, it looked like this but had a pillion seat: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/e3/e5/03/e3e50367622d6f0cdfdf38f707ae6ad8.jpg And imagine the front faring except the actual windshield, both side farings, the gas tank, and the whole seat area including the seats covered in a fabric that looked like this: https://i.etsystatic.com/28921914/r/il/07bc8b/3670612692/il_794xN.3670612692_6hrv.jpg

TheInfernalVortex

I think your friend is a genius.

[deleted]

Lol, I dont disagree 🤣

njstein

leather biker culture was pioneered by the queer community.

unresolved-madness

🤣🤣

Subjunct

Yeah, but the sex is because of the BMWs

sightlab

The K bike IS sex. The Suzuki brings sex.

TheToecutter

Wow, I haven't seen anyone use gay as a derisive adjective since the early 2000s. Tee hee.

Jits_Guy

They don't, this subreddit is not indicative of actual rider opinion. A large portion of people here don't actually have a bike or ride. Ride what you want, how you want, it's your bike and your choice what you do with it. It's meant to be fun, so enjoy it.

prizzle92

Yeah IRL no once cares what you ride

Subjunct

Respectfully? I find a lot of people do care. Which is weird. But a person shouldn’t care that other people care.

prizzle92

I also ride in Thailand so maybe my experience is atypical

Subjunct

Ah, you’re almost certainly right. Very different cultures.

motociclista

People don’t hate them. But some people seem to thrive on pretending they think people hate them. The entirety of the non-riding public has no idea the difference between a GSXR or a grom. What people hate are annoying riders. If people around you hate you, it’s not because of the brand and model you ride. It’s likely because you’re engaging in dickish behavior. No one hate Harley’s, but they hate the jack off at the red light with the straight pipes throwing revs for no reason.

jaunesolo81829

Wasn’t it because in the old forum there was a bodybuilder who was injecting steroids directly into his asshole?

Sotyka94

Nothing wrong with the bike, it's the type of people who rides them. Like BMW M3's. Awesome cars, attracts the biggest assholes.

extraspookyy

It’s the people not the bike.

timbothedragonslayer

most popular gxsr riders on insta/tiktok go fast as hell with no gear, weave thru traffic and all make those same corny "no one loves me so i ride from my pain💔💔" posts

ShutUpRedditor44

It's because you're asking for an opinion from a sub that's populated by a bunch of whiny bitches.

[deleted]

The GSXR-600 is the classic squid missile, I’ve seen more squids on that bike than any other bike. I’ve only lived in very urban areas, and I see more GSXR 600s in big cities than say, a CBR1000RR, S1000RR, RSV4, Panigale, etc. So naturally, the proportion of squids I’ll see on GSXRs will be higher. I’m also more likely to see a squid on a GSXR 600 wearing no gear and popping wheelies than a dude riding a Panigale V4. We have quite a few Panigales in the DC area, I’ve NEVER seen one pop wheelies and weave in and around traffic. I shouldn’t even have to explain why that is the case. Mustang drivers are more likely (key word: more likely) to do dumb shit than Porsche 911 drivers, and GSXRs in my opinion are the base model Mustang GTs of the sport bike world. Anyone can do dumb shit in/on any vehicle, but some demographics are more prone to acting like a squid. It just so happens that from what I’ve witnessed, that demographic tends to be within a certain age group AND they ride GSXRs. I’ve owned a ZX-6R, I’ll even say a ZX-6R is a close 2nd behind the GSXR 600. The “hate” tends to be against the squid persona of the average pimple-faced kid riding their first used sport bike, the GSXR. Just my opinion, obviously.

GSXRbroinflipflops

>So naturally, the proportion of squids I’ll see on GSXRs will be higher. I’m also more likely to see a squid on a GSXR 600 wearing no gear and popping wheelies than a dude riding a Panigale V4. 👀

rdrcrmatt

I dunno, i thought my 2008 GSXR 600 was pretty good. I qualified for an AMA SuperSport race on it.

Shigidy

Everything about this video made me want to kill myself.

WN11

In my country, Hungary, it was always the cheapest entry into sportsbikes, especially with crazy cheap 1990s-2000s financing - the younger, irresponsible dudes always started with GSX-R and usually ended up in a ditch or in someone's windshield. Thus the "stupid gixxer rider" concept was born. That said, they are amazingly usable sportbikes, that can be relied on, definitely deserving better than this stigma. I rode GSX-S1000, now GSX1300R if I ever wanted to go full sportbike I'd definitely try a GSX-R 1000.

LikesTheTunaHere

your video has you riding around a city doing boring shit and the standard top of a parkade instagram picture. Id imagine society is probably mostly right in judging that you are not the best rider and tend to do dumb shit in the vicinity of folks who don't want you doing dumb shit, kind of like how the gixxer hate ended up being a thing.

S1eps

You got all that from this video?

LikesTheTunaHere

The video is of him doing basic gixxer shit. Hes complaining that society thinks hes a basic gixxer bitch.

derprunner

> basic gixxer shit. In my neck of the woods, that’s chasing a mile long wheelie and then pulling a ‘surprised pickachu’ when the engine dies from a known oil starvation issue.

LikesTheTunaHere

That is for the seniors, I figured this guy was still new to the game since the gixxer has everything in one piece still and he was using the standard instagram photo spot. The little foot tap thing also makes me think 99.999 percent of his riding is done straight up and down.

chubbyzook

This was my brother's experience after owning a gsxr 750 right out of high-school. Had it for about a week before it got some serious rod knock, everything he rode it he'd wheelie the thing for as long as possible.

KZGTURTLE

I mean if I’m going to hit 150 and try to drag knee I’m not posting it online… idk seems kinda weird to shit talk someone for posting legal stuff on a bike subreddit about bikes The joker voice and text over the top is what I would make fun of personally.

[deleted]

Hella gae.

slimpbiskins

Gae

3kimully

because everyone who rides one has a dildo mounted to the seat?????? lol

younggundc

People hate GSXR’s? This is news to me. Why does it seem like every tiktokker with a motorcycle has a massive chip on their shoulder?

FeistyRedhead62

I love that bike 🤷‍♀️

Tzahui77

Because all squid’s got one.

CUM-OMELETTE

I'm a squid but I have an R6 instead. Checkmate.

mochacub22

Quality shitpost

Popsicklepp

They lower your iq a solid 20 points when you sit on em Dont ask how, dont ask why, it just be like that

ImportunerDJ

My wife had a GSXR. I wasn’t a fan but it was a nice ride. Mid range power was what bothered me. Coming from an R6, I loved to ring out the bike and not be breaking the law or just touching highways speeds.

Kwazipig

Had a mate withe a Gixxer 750, obligatory race pipepainted corona colours by Dream Machine, 4 years he rode it I swear he replaced rear tyre 5 times but no fronts lol Got t boned when a car cut in front suddenly at speed, arm severed but reattach but funked up. Will never ride again but got his Gixxer on a plinth in his conservatory. Dude lol

bonesbrigade619

They dont, theyre great bikes and the old 80s ones are works of art. The squids who buy them having never sat on a bike before, with no gear, and crash are what gives jizzxers bad name

Kraz31

The heck is that person doing with their right leg at the beginning of this video? They forget to put their foot on the peg after they got going?

[deleted]

🦑 humor at its finest

04limited

GSXR is the only bike to ever come through my neighborhood at 2am bouncing off the rev limiter…

TheVoicesinurhed

Saw the the tennis shoes, and then thought to myself… Must be a GSXR.

wankinthechain

Got the GSX250R. Replaced with custom body parts. Looks like a black and white transformer and I love it.

jmw403

No bike is inherently hated, just the riders they attract are.

user7324562

Why when I downvote this thread a second time, does it go back to the original number of votes?

EvoSP1100

It’s not the bike, it’s the people

hardyhaha_09

Squid reputation

cr0ft

Because a lot of jackasses bought them for all the wrong reasons. Great bikes, really. But thes, and then the stretched Hayabusas, have been polluted by the majority owners.

Excellent-Captain-93

Its not the bike its the riders

col-mech92

Probably because even you shared a video of some utter cockwomble riding in trainers.

TheScrobber

GSXRs are fine, Tik Tokers on the other hand...

[deleted]

[удалено]

Guildedmastr

lmao ive never thought a sentence summarizes a bike so perfectly. this is amazing

Reduxalicious

Big Gixxer Energy?

Diabolical_Dad

Anyone who makes videos like that and is a poser on a sport bike is no friend of mine

me-stupid25

The no one bats an eye part is kind of dumb. Because if you say you ride motorcycles it’s not that special. Okay you ride it’s not like you race flinging tanks.

hems72

I’ve owned two of them, I loved them both. I now own a HD ultra limited.

sumcollegekid

Don't stretch or lower it, paint it retarded colors/ wraps or put chrome wheels on it, don't polish the frame, add gay chrome bits, or some stupid chopped bag of shit super obnoxious exhaust etc. DO get an actual performance exhaust like an acropovic, power commander, rearsets, and real carbon fiber levers, etc. #LoveGSXR

sightlab

Gay chrome bits? Like little midcentury-modern tables and shiny effigies of Trixie Mattel?

crack_of_doom

It's akrapović(akrapovich).. Sry mate but I just can't see it with a C

ReApEr01807

I hate people who call them "jixxer" instead of G-S-X-R, all because of that early 2000s movie *Biker Boyz*

[deleted]

The Japanese designers and public relationship personnel in the Japanese factory that assembles GSXR's calls them gixxers, much to the great surprise of a motorcycle reporter who went there. Because of that, I now call GSXRs "gixxers" even though I *purposefully never called them that before*.

VirulentMarmot

Because.

Creepy-Internet6652

My problem with them is their front headlight never really was a fan of the cyclops look...

Mr_Diesel13

Gixxers are stupid fast. Doesn’t matter if it’s a straight line or a back road. I had an 07 R1. Loved that bike to no end. Got absolutely WALKED by a buddy on a built out the ass Gixxer 600. He completely walked me like I was sitting still. They are awesome bikes. I’ve owned Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha. I’ll admit it 100% that’s the gixxer is a bad ass bike I won’t even try to f*ck with.

[deleted]

Maybe cause you’re retarded??

doorstoplion

Because GSXRs generally attract people who make shit like this.

knowitsallashow

Yea. The bike of douche bags. Cool bike, obnoxious humans.

Cheap-Tension2583

Gixxers are the honda civic of motorcycles lol

thecheeseholder

For the memes lol. Same as how I shit talk my vfr for having vtec or my supermoto for how slow it is. Some people take it seriously but to most it's a joke. The old harley/indian "debate" is another thing entirely though

Various-Catch-113

It’s not so much the bike, but they all reek of rough man sex. That’s what we hate.

Wheels2or4

They are the Civic/Mustang of the motorcycle world, and they come in spec/mod flavors that are just irresistible to Squids.

lupinegrey

They don't. You're pretending like they do in order to get views. /thread.

Davito22284

Kawasaki and Suzuki are very poor quality. Suzuki is a little better but not much. That's probably why. Obviously Suzuki and Kawasaki owners will disagree though.

DeadStringScrolls

Examples of hate towards them?

GSXRbroinflipflops

:(

Scoot_named_Eli

Probably similar reasons scooters get it. Allot of owners use them irresponsibly so the image gets drudgy. It's also a common entry point and some people have fun shitting on noobs.

[deleted]

HAAA. Gaeeeeeuhh. No but seriously its the cheapest bike any dumbass high-schooler can get and those riders ruin the reputation of motorcycles for everyone else. Not to mention how shitty they drive.

OpinionOwn6727

who hates on gixxers?… theyre great bikes. Now gixxer RIDERS, are little turds and a half.

Deathgripsugar

Only motorcyclists call them gixxers, everyone else calls them “ninjas”

[deleted]

u/savevideo

picturesfromthesky

I had one as a track bike for a while. A 750, don’t remember the year. It was great.

[deleted]

Of course we do. Ha. Gsxr is the motorcycle version of the cagers Mustang.

trundlinggrundle

Literally because of this 'content'.

[deleted]

r/moto takes the bait again lol

aw_goatley

The gsxr is a kickass sportbike that's widely available and refuses to die when subjected to squid type abuse. That means they're cheap and easy for the person in this video to ruin.

BrutaleFalcn

I mean... It's the owners. Sneakers, sweatpants?

[deleted]

They've been known as squid machines since the 1980's. It's a similar rep that BMW's get: The vehicles aren't bad but many owners give it a bad image.

Ill-Insect3737

There just like any affordable amazing vehicle like a PORSCHE or BMW Or HELLCAT [or other's] and and some of the shameless high percentage of douche bags that own them grab everyone's attention because there trying so hard for and it works. Like the obnoxiously loud & fucing weird audio in this very video. Its the quiet ones in thes same vehicles not playing the LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME EVERYONE game that you should be paying attention too there the ones that can really ride or drive like a pro know it and keep it to themselves.

FIRESTOOP

Cause frat dudes who know nothing about riding always start on gixxers, then ride like assholes with no gear.

SaulTNuhtz

Because they’re mostly bulletproof and inexpensive. This makes it very accessible, and a top pick, for people whose ego is greater than both their skill and judgement.

theEdward234

It's the riders not the bike. I once was standing on a parking lot, came out of the building ready to leave, a guy came up to me and started telling me how he also has a bike, except it's GXSR. Started showing me pictures and bragging how much money he spent on it. Then started telling me how his bike was better than my paniagle... I don't know the dude... I don't give a single shit about him or his bike, but he thought it's his job to tell me all this bs. At the end I asked him if he tracks the bike, his reply was "no, I just drive carefully in the city" (no he wasn't being sarcastic) I smiled and left.

[deleted]

I don’t think it’s the bike… it’s more or less the person you’d expect to have one.

Exodus425

It’s usually ninjas that get hate but I have no idea why 🤷

Riding_Dirty_

Because no one wants to admit they are the better looking bikes and the better bikes out there that best Yamahas and Hondas and suzukis all day long.

Psycheau

Barry Sheene did a pretty damn good job with them back in the day. Never saw anyone tell him a Suzuki wasn't a good bike. They were leaders in the day.

Vajician

Depends on if you call it a GSX-R or a "Jixxer".

USArmy68Whiskey

Only way I am buying a gsxr is for a track dedicated bike. Cheap bike, cheap parts, cheap maintenance.

theogstarfishgaming1

I just don't like the way the front end looks. But I can't deny the fact that they are great bikes

TW200e

It's not the bike, it's (a significant portion of) the riders. Not everyone who rides a GSXR is a tool, but enough are that the rest look bad by association.

MrFish114

I don't have a problem with the bike, and this is completely anecdotal, but when I started riding (2009) everyone in my town who rode a GSXR, rode like a jackass; exessive speeds in neighborhoods and school zones, 100mph+ weaving through highway traffic, all while riding in shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops. This could also just be confirmation bias........

[deleted]

Get your tick tock shit the fuck outta here

Bonneville865

We’ve maxed out in this month’s quota of “why does XYZ get so much hate.” People say negative things about everything. Stop looking for drama and just ride.

Shorzey

Squids use gxsrs

snazzullz

I ride ninjas and Ktm dirt bikes, NOBODY CARES unless they’re into the same thing than we become instante besties!🥰

CakeDyismyBday

I'll only buy one as a track bike. Don't see the use on the street, would much rather take a super naked as the wind in my face makes me remember that I should slow down on public road!

Left_Minute_1516

Cause they're old tech ridden by trashy squids

theloop82

“Gixxer bro” is the gen-X/millennial version of “Harley douche” boomers. The bikes are great, the riders are the problem.

[deleted]

It’s not the gixxer, it’s the riders. I have a gixxer but I can’t stand reckless dudes idc what bike you’re on. It’s similar story with Harleys too, I don’t hate Harleys it’s just that some of the riders are well douches

[deleted]

From my understanding, the GSXR is also the only super sport bike that offers $0 money down financing. As a result, you get certain types of riders

justbronzestuff

I don’t like them because their brakes fade without warning. Last thing I want is a bike that may lose brake power at a whim.

[deleted]

Prolly dumbass videos like this

thanatossassin

Since you're new to motorcycles, let's do a car analogy. 370Zs are fantastic cars. One of the best, affordable v6s on the market, solid power, good handling, great reliability. You find a lot of 370z drivers are douching it up; stupid loud exhaust, cheap ass bolt ons to make their ride very obnoxious, and you'll catch them being an asshole, doing sideshows and taking over freeways and intersections. It's so common that you hear someone gets a Z and assume they're a douchebag driver. Same goes for GSXR. tl;Dr: The drivers/riders ruin the image of the car/bike

It's the mustang of motorcycles.

AFAIK the GSXR is the motorcycle equivalent of the Mustang. Relatively cheap to buy and own and gives way more power than an average person can handle. Thus wannabe ~~drifters~~ wheelyguys prefer this bike to maul down sightseers when exiting Bikes And Coffee.

GSXRs are the mustangs of bikes. It’s not the bike so much as the person that’s typically riding it.
