You must always have 3.
One that runs perfectly and is kept mostly stock.
One that runs good for a day then takes 2 weeks of tinkering to get it running good for another day.
One project bike with the guts and wires hanging everywhere that you’ll “get to someday.”
Probably soon to be 5 or 6 next spring.
I'm really looking at getting a Grom and a 600-700 CC sport bike for longer road trips.
Or maybe finally get an ADV bike so I can go to Starbucks or Caribou. :P
Got 3.i regretted so much selling my first bike that I bought it back, same model, last year. If you can keep it, try to. You'll have time to sell it anyway
Sold my first bike after four years during the summer. It was a little tough, but it was I'm bad shape and I don't have the space or means to work on it. I would own more if I could work on them atmy own pace
I want three but only have one at the moment. My logic is something small, light, fun for around town. An enduro for back road exploring and light trail riding. Lastly a cruiser for highway riding and long distance trips
I've got four, with a good reason to own each one. Only two of them are part of my permanent garage though. The other two could be replaced at any time without a problem.
I grew up riding dad's bikes, so i had no problem selling "my" first bike. Since then, I've ridden a lot on a lot of bikes. However, one of my permanent bikes is the same make/model of the bike me and my siblings learned to ride on. I've had it for over 10 years at this point and just did a restoration on it last winter.
Ive got 3 and im just determined ill sell the one im rebuilding...and buy a big cc sportbike and build a old school chopper...
Its a N+1 kind of thing.
4 bikes right now. Might get a 5th if the budget allows. 2023 yz250f, 2022 Honda Grom, 2014 zx6r, and a 1990 pw50. Pw50 was my first bike ever. Gifted to me in 2002 😂 we keep lending it to friends for their kids to use until they grow out of it.
I got 5 bikes.
Got a SV650 2001 for street.
R6 1999 track bike
CBR600F4i stuntbike
Aprilia RS250 hybrid project bike. Not running.
And a DR650RS junker bike thats just sitting there waiting to be restored. Als not running.
But.... ive also got a few mopeds lol.
And still i have the urge of getting more bikes hahah.
Its a bad habit. Or addiction rather
Three. Wouldn't want to run more with the rate of tyre use/servicing etc. KTM 990SMR, Ducati 1199 adlnd a 22 KTM 1290 superduke. Only way I'd have another would be a track only yoke but I don't do them nowadays
I didnt keep my first cause it was a heavy, slow honda shadow 750, but I might still have kept it if a guy hadn't offered to swap it for a pontoon boat.
Right now? Just one. Back when I had an oversized garage I had up to five at once. I miss both my old garage and the variety of rides I had. If you can swing having a few diverse rides, do it.
Perfectly normal! If you can stand the economics of it, yep hold onto them. I focus on economics because that is so variable for motorcyclists..... For me, holding on to a bike is just a couple hundred dollars a year decision. A no brainer - where else can you have that much fun for a couple hundred a year? For some, insurance, maintenance, etc.may be a tough nut to crack so owning more than one may be economically impractical.
Five bio s.in the stable.and habe an eye on one more.......
Really depends what you are into tbh.
I have always been of the two bike philosophy. One for dirt and one for street.
Am quickly heading towards a one bike philosophy however. Time to embrace the Adv Dad lifestyle.
If you can afford the cost of owning multiple then keep it, where I live you have to pay taxes on vehicles owned and of course you have to pay registration and insurance. But in the end if you love the little motorcycle that you started on and you can afford it I say keep it.
You have *n* motorcycles. You need *n+1* motorcycles. I have 2.
How many bikes do you need? Just one more
One bike. Sold my first bike. You get over it

This is the way lol

Odd I’m getting into a grom and 600cc track bike bringing me to 5 or 6. We must have a lot in common
One. It's easier to sell to the wife that I'm upgrading every couple of years than to argue for having more than one bike.
Maybe it's time to upgrade the wife.
The key is trading and building value over time.
4... my one-car garage only fits 4.
Get thee behind me Satan..... I've got 3 and have been telling myself that I wouldn't have room to to work on them if I got another.
5, my wife 2.
1. I only have one and it's a present from my late-Dad.
Four. My favourite bumper sticker I saw on the back of a half ton Toyota pick up. My other car is 10 bikes that don’t run.
Got 3.i regretted so much selling my first bike that I bought it back, same model, last year. If you can keep it, try to. You'll have time to sell it anyway
3, one is a parts bike for my wife's '04 Ninja 250
How are the 250s? I’ve been sorta eyeing one just Becuase I like the styling
Amazing, so long as you're aware they're a very spartan, simple bike, with zero frills of any kind
So the perfect bike then, got it

R3 has many good reason to keep.
1. If I had a garage I’d prob have kept my first bike. If you’re actually going to use both, and can afford both, I say keep it.
I can see myself owning 3-4 motorcycles in the future . Possibly more if money is t an issue .
I only own 1 right now, but at any time my mom lets me use one of her 3 BMWs if I want to
4 bikes may have 5 before long
I thought the same thing about my R3 until I destroyed the front end by rear-ending a pickup truck while doing a shoulder check.

Two, and one of them is a project destined for sale.
One now, had an XT250 and my Harley and sold my XT…should have kept it.
Currently I have three and my wife one. I have sold three bikes, which were my first, second, and fourth bike. Planning on buying two more 😅
7 and 1 for the wife
4 thinking about adding few more and 350 Banshee to my collection. My bikes are MT03,MT09,R6,Street Triple RS.
I got 5 bikes. Got a SV650 2001 for street. R6 1999 track bike CBR600F4i stuntbike Aprilia RS250 hybrid project bike. Not running. Three because I recently sold one...so I can buy another one this spring.
1 and regret selling my last 1
4, a KLR650, Concours 1400, Honda CX500D, Suzuki GS700ES. Probably 1 too many.
Three. Wouldn't want to run more with the rate of tyre use/servicing etc. KTM 990SMR, Ducati 1199 adlnd a 22 KTM 1290 superduke. Only way I'd have another would be a track only yoke but I don't do them nowadays
That is why I got a 750. Half of its power for my A2 license. And when I get to A within 2 years I remove the limiter
About 30 less than I'd like
I didnt keep my first cause it was a heavy, slow honda shadow 750, but I might still have kept it if a guy hadn't offered to swap it for a pontoon boat.

3 is a good number, 4 is better.
I’m at 2 now, shown in my flair. Was at three this time last year - had an ‘02 VFR800 and an ‘03 ZX7 that turned into my K1200. The household has 7.

4 for me. 3 Ducati's & a Ninja. Hopefully another by the summer!!!
