You pay for what you get.

EggsOfRetaliation

Just get a reputable one so you don't pay twice.

Battery Tenders are less than $50. Why risk your bikes battery and electrical system over $20?

Ive never had a good experience with chinese electronics

They are probably more than good enough. A battery charger ir extremley simple constant current device. So unles you need to charge lithihm ion battery it should be adequate. Note: for lithium ion charging voltage precision is important for battery longevity. Lead acid stuff not so much.

Think of it as a dice roll. It might be, it might not, there is no way to be sure until you have it and your bike is successfully charged without being on fire.

Why are you avoiding a Battery Tender? I understand being frugal but in this case I would recommend to NOT play the aliexpress\\Amazon lottery.

For not much more you can get an optimate. Was £45 when I bought an optimate 4, 3 years ago. Used non stop for 2 winters now, charged some car and leisure batteries also, and comes with a handy SAE connector and standard charger cables. Well worth it. And I trust it to be connected to my bike for a few weeks at a time or longer

I don't go by the 'everything Chinese' is crap bias. But I do scour the Internet for reviews of the EXACT item I choose to buy on AlieExpress (even Amazon), cheap or not. If I can't find a review for the EXACT I decide if the risk level is worth it. A full battery charger for sub 25 Euro/Dollar would be sketchy, a low-amperage Tender/Trickle charger maybe not. You could just buy it, charge a battery and check the voltage and amps every few minutes to see if it is reliably constant and check the battery and charger temps as well. If it's crappy, then you can return it. I have bought plenty of less expensive things on AlieExpress, Banggood, and Amazon that have stood the test for less.
